Try not to disrespect other cultures, please. Without even an apology in regards to one of your earlier post, you are being rather rude. While the US have a holiday almost every other month, the Chinese, and most Asian countries, only have their lunar new years. Do keep in mind that they don't get a single day off for Christmas or New Years.

Edit: OK, I have read your apology. For future reference, please be more respectable to unfamiliar culture traditions.

It is indeed a full two weeks.

Just a minor correction: the US doesn't really get a holiday every other month. The only workers who get off like that are either federal/state/local gov't or bank employees. The rest of the private sector enjoys maybe Christmas off.

Asus N10 with Atom and Nvidia 9300GS is inferior to Athlon Neo MSI with ATI integrated graphic. Tested myself.

But on paper the Nvidia GPU is superior to the ATI chipset.

I agree that a 2.6 ghz core2 duo cpu with a 4ghz cpu won't make that much difference, GPU will decide (except in RTS like supcom but anyway...).

But we are talking about two generation of CPU. the M11x will never maximize its GPU or only in a few FPS game...

I have own this M11x cpu in a Panasonic R8. I had the same chipset than on my lenovo. The performance were clearly superior with a P8700 CPU.

Also GT335M is not that far from GT330M. Same goes for GTX280M and GTX260M.

    You have a M17x I believe, I can sure you than a Pentium4 with GTX280m is clearly inferior to a C2duo with GTX260M.

It's not an average Core2duo cpu, I have experienced it 1 and a half year and I know what I am talking about. It's not an atom but it's not P8600, trust me on this.

Well, I might be wrong, we'll see that in the reviews...

LGP310 => 8600MGT with P8700 => same size than M11x and lighter, perf should be similar.

I can game anything on it and "push it" as you say and it's not hot. Well, not really need to OC the CPU like with the M11x though.

AW marketing targets gamers, while Sony target professionals, it has nothing to do with the notebook performance.

not trying to justify the way I said it, but solely to explain myself, when I said "crap" I didn't mean it in a disrespectful way. I refer to most everything even things I really like as crap. Guess its an unwashed american thing.

E.G.: I'm dying to get my hands on this alienware crap I ordered.

I think what he might be referencing is how well the Sony keeps cool compared to the Alienware when pushed. The Sony might not be made to handle constant gaming like the M11x in terms of ventilation.

I'm also looking at the Sony site and it says "Starting at $1799.99" which is much higher than the M11x.

Of course this is almost meaningless because of how long you'd have to wait if you waited to buy this thing until I did this, but I fully plan on comparing the results of everything this alienware crap (with the pentium su4100 everyone hates in this thread) can do compared with my hp dv7t quad with an i7 720 and a 330m after I receive it.

I guess it should arrive around january next year due to overwhelming preorders, manufacturing delays and ram/chassis shortages everyone is talking about, plus all the dell threads about orders being stuck in "build hell".

So, if you're planning on picking this up next year when they update the store page with molten-core i9 six-core CPUs and nvidia 1235m 500 pipeline integrated graphics and still want to know how the pentium/335m combo performed when it went on sale a year ago I guess I'm your man!

It's the best possible available 11-inch laptop ever made for an extremely reasonable price and features that are usually reserved for $1500 base laptops so yeah, people feel it necessary to compare it on "even" ground with 13+" laptops. :-/

    Ka-zing!

Judging by how upset people were in the previous thread when they learned the processor would be the SU7300, you'd figure we were at 16 core, 5 GHz processors and SLI in 9 inch laptops for $800 :p

The Z isn't a gaming rig. Its a rig for business pros. Its designed to fit in a briefcase, not cool a 100% load i7 with a nVidia GPU under full load as well.

Its a fingerprint magnet, that's for sure. As for how glossy/matte it is, we won't know for sure until the first shipments meet the end user or reviewers start picking up the device to scrutinize.

I'm putting a thin cover on my M11x so the finger-print magnet stuff doesn't really matter to me.

Now I just need to find a good, thin cover with an alien-shaped head cut out of the middle...
