Ah, I kinda saw some flash of Chinese New Years come up in this thread, but it's moving faster than a NYSE scroll bar. So all the AW machines are going to be built in China then?

Dell has manufacturing plants in USA, China, India and Malaysia. Think servers are built in Brazil. So no not all from China.

    Darkhan,

Can you tell me if the SIM card feature that reviewers have been stating is true? That you can take your SIM card out of your data-enabled phone and plug it in and it will connect your M11x to the carrier's network?

I can tell you it has a sim card slot. How you get it to work with your carrier? I have no idea?

    Sorry.

It's okay; I haven't been able to get a clear answer from any Dell rep yet. :( It looks like I'll be going off of kevin25a's experience. Still good!

    Thanks for responding, Darkhan. :D

Has anyone else's estimated ship date moved? Mine just moved from 3-4-10 to 3-1-10, still shows in pre production. Is Dell having a system glitch thing, or is this real?

    Shipping Method: Next Business Day
    Estimated Delivery Date: 3/1/2010

Mine just changed from 3-8-10 to 3-4-10. It been saying In production for the past 2 days.

WOW someone must love me at Dell, they changed my shipping from 5 to 7 days to next day. Thats AWESOME!

When I log in, mine says "N/A." I can only assume it's because... Dell... does... I don't know. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Darkhan going around changing all of the shipping address to his own. :p I'm sure it will fix itself once it's out of pre-production.

Edit: I just called the number Eggs Scrambled gave and everything has changed. There's no options to select and it says my order status is "being processed." Very weird since the site says "In Production."

yes 1.73ghz makes total sense since both the SU4100 & SU7300 both use a 6.5x Multiplier with a 200mhz FSB for an Intel Factory Default 1.3 ghz.

If the AlienWare M11x Bios overclocks the FSB from 200 to 266mhz then either processor would be 6.5 x 266 = 1.729 ghz.

Those reviews with overclocked SU7300 at 1.6 ghz would mean that the overclocking setting in the bios was reducing the stock CPU multiplier from 6.5 to 6.0 which never made much sense to me.

Now I'm am very happy to hear that it will indeed be 6.5 x 266 :)

I got moved up also. I used to be 3/8/2010. But then I called and complained to customer service about all my reordering and etc so she said she did an internal push to push my order to the front and gave me free next day so now it says:

    Shipping Method: Next Business Day
    Estimated Delivery Date: 3/4/2010

gasp...damn it!!!!!! I can just imagine, white on the outside, black on the inside (no pun intended). Anyways, I guess they took the option away after Dell had hips of problems with the white versions of the SXPS13 and 16.

edit: I see that there are actually pictures of this floating around, can someone share the link with me? plz? lol

Just out of curiosity, what type of silver are they using for the M11x? The whitish silver or the grayish silver? The currently available pictures do it little justice.

So will fingerprints wipe off okay with the black? Is it a semi gloss? I had a black macbook and even if you wiped it down they would not go away.

Thanks. Yeah I picked the Su7300 but it just sucks that if the GPU goes I have to send the entire thing in.
