Well she told me she didn't give it for free to anyone... So I dunno who to believe but it was only 17 bucks to add it so to heck with it no sense arguing.

Let me see if I have this right.

I have an iPhone that I jailbroke and enabled tethering with a 3.1.2 OS hack. Using Bluetooth I can hook up the iPhone to the M11x and tether internet correct?

One of the rep told me that the silver option meant that it's silver for the entire laptop...I don't think they know what they are talking about.

That depends on the software you have. I'm not sure of the software available for Windows (if you jailbreak and get PDAnet, you don't even need bluetooth I don't think).

Either bluetooth or wifi I forgot which. But you need to be careful because if you use to much of your bandwidth and AT&T notices then they will cancel your service. So only use it to surf the internet and not download / watch alot of stuff.

Well, that's why I said take it as you like. You know either believe the rep or take it with a grain a salt and wait until someone actually gets the laptop and can tell you for sure. I think it would be smarter (on the part of Dell/Alienware) to make both color options matte.

You can fairly safely browse the web, use youtube, even play games using the tethering and ATT really can't tell, because the Iphone can do all of those things, and for all they know you are just using your Iphone a lot. However, any download over about 50 megs or any torrenting or anything and it is almost an instant ban.

Not sure how reliable this is because I did it last year (as in 2008), but I downloaded a 90MB torrent while tethered to my iPhone's 3G service and they didn't even call me. They might be cracking down on it now, though, so your mileage may vary.

All of the pictures on alienware.com seem to show it like it has non-glossy lid.

Damn I got three different numbers of Dell in my recently called list. I think it was this one: the Customer Care 18773355 if it doesn't say it's customer care it's wrong sorry lol for US. They canceled it rather quickly and easily though gave them my Dell Purchase ID.

    1 Alienhead Chrome Red $0.00
    1 Alienhead Chrome Red $0.00
    1 Astral Aqua $0.00

Well hopefully it's true about Canada having bluetooth as standard, although if it isn't then i'm not too bothered. So glad I got the silver tho, it looks awesome. I ordered mine with Dell financing cos I won't have the cash til the end of the month. Will this affect my order at all? Slow it down?
I'm going to watch the IGN review again now.

Reason I ask about order cancellation is because usually after the status goes IN PRODUCTION, they makes it very difficult for you to cancel, because the policy stated no cancellation once it reaches that state, so just wondering how you guys hacked it..

Thanks for the update. Mine was placed about 3 hours ago I think but no status change. Still at Order processing. meh

Maybe it's because it's the 2nd order on the DPA card haha. Hoping the first order clears tomorrow. I might have to make a 3rd order if I find myself thinking in my sleep I'd rather have silver or the SSD again. Damn I cannot make up my damn mind.

better if you consider the higher memory bandwidth

The code BIGGAME gives you 30% off the warranty with a max of 40$. But I called them and he gave me a unlimited 30% off code so it took 60$ off my warranty. Website is http://www.squaretrade.com/pages/

If they can't fix your laptop in 5days they will refund your purchase price which is 780$ for me.

For Dell, "production" can be long and is also translated as "You can not cancel your order now, until it is delivered".

    In Production
Upon approval of payment for your order, the order will be In Production. Production time includes obtaining the parts, assembly or build time, and shipping preparations/transit to the carrier. Shipping preparations will vary based on type of order and size.

from youtube videos you can see that it is semi-gloss. At first I wanted to get the silver color, but the one on hardwareheaven looks more gray than silver. Maybe it is because of improper lighting. Also, from the pictures, you can tell that the silver version is semi-gloss, too.
