We don't do inside help and stuff. We can tell you what to do, where to find coupons and give you codes, but still you have to call them up and play hardball. No shortcuts mate.

shhhhhhhh, you are taking the surprise element away! (about your darkhan comment)

    haha, anyways,
I've read in the online manuel for the M11x that you can disable/enable battery charging using the function key. To maximize battery life, should I charge the battery until full, then disable charge? and then only charge it again once the battery life is near zero? or charge it every night until full? How can we maximize the battery life for our M11x?

@arsa = The other canadiens in the thread have not gotten a single coupon to work, so we can't give you anything :(

EDIT: I'm from malaysia and codes are given specific to certain systems and AWs rarely get any codes, if ever down here. I rang em up, played hardball and got 5% off.

I think most of the coupons have expired now haven't they? And no more stacking and such. Feels like it was thousands of years ago before Sigourney Weaver when it was ok to stack.

I ended up paying $90 shipped via amazon for both Orochi and Kabuto. I must say totally worth it. If you want more info on the pair, I can link you to a post with my impressions on both.

    @azn yes pweeeeze

do you have a g5/g500 to compare with? that's my current mouse (g500) and I'm debating whether the unhooked aspect is worth it.

One thing I hated about a few razers when I tried them was the excessive gummy feel. I have dry hands or something and it always feels like the mouse is covered in lotion.

I'm thinking I can get over that though with the unhooked bluetooth feature.

    @logan

you are playing the wrong game!!! CS 1.6 >>>>>>>> CSS. we shouldn't have a problem with the games that are out now, on the M11x.

I was thinking this the other day but never said anything as to avoid flamewar, it does seem like m11x is gaining an Apple esque fanboyism for lack of better words. I never really understood it with Iphone even though I owned one for 3 years straight and just recently switched to Nexus One. For most of the time I owned the iphone I always thought it was the best phone but eventually I grew tired of it and decided to see what all the hoopla was about with the new google phone and low and behold Apple fanboys trash this phone left and right, I didn't buy it initially because of this I figured the phone was a piece of junk but eventually I gave in an ordered one and you know what? I haven't used my Iphone since I recieved the Nexus One LOL It is just so much a better phone than the Iphone for me at this point.

I kinda see the same things happen here, anytime someone brings up a different computer even if it's similiar sized with better features etc... it ends up in a huge flamewar because "m11x is the best laptop ever created in the universe" type of thing like the Iphone had going on. I never understood it with the Iphone and I don't understand it with m11x either, I am always looking for something better to come along and will replace whatever I currently own once it does.

It is a strange phenomena indeed.

I just read that CSS link posted from HH, and now I have a completely different opinion of them. How can they even expect anyone to trust the results they give if they cant provide a demo or details on where it was run?

It just screams pride issues or something, what do they care if other sites use their same benchmarks? They got the m11x earlier than most any other website, I guess others may disagree but I find it a little off-putting that they don't show how they got their results.

News at ten: upstart, unknown scientist has proof of alien life on alpha centauri! When asked for his methods to check authenticity, he declines claiming others may steal his work. Alien life CONFIRMED!

not shure if this has been posted but i found some OC specs
"Hi, this should help a little... someone asked for 3DMark Vantage earlier on so I decided to run that with OC on and off (for those who asked about GTA/Dragons Age, sorry didnt have time for that).

    So:

    OC OFF:
    Score: 3213
    GPU: 2562
    CPU: 13555

    OC ON:
    Score: 3235
    GPU: 2568
    CPU: 14686"

    site http://www.hardwareheaven.com/hh-re...-m11x-notebook-review-hh-3.html#ixzz0f0Y9LbZN
not positive on the numbers in retrospect but good info nonetheless

"ok... so Crysis Warhead for now... (3mins worth of gameplay per single run because my time is limited)

    No OC:
    1280x720 Mainstream Avg 25, min 14, max 37
    1280x720 Minimum Avg 40, min 22, max 39

    OC
    1280x720 Mainstream Avg 29, Min 21, max 40
    1280x720 Minimum Avg 50, Min 29, max 77

Overall, the best setting was 1280x720 with mainstream and an OC CPU. Some minor detail tweaks would be required to keep it solid above 25fps but overall, hugely impressive for a 11" laptop."

    this as well

    Thanks so much! You're awesome.

The M11x's battery is a Li-Ion, in which case you do not want to follow battery calibration instructions because it will actually hurt your battery's life even more. However, like all batteries, the more you use it the more it will deteriorate. While you're plugged in, you might as well use the power cord instead of perpetually charging the battery.

@bluehaze, I think you may be misunderstanding the problem. People come in here claiming that the m11x is basically a terrible waste of money and isn't as good as we are hoping it will be (being mostly future owners of the m11x), and yet we can't even refute their claims because they haven't arrived yet.

@Bluehaze - Its all about the venue.. this is a thread dedicated to new owners of a brand new product in a brand new segment, and people have spent a great deal of money on them, and are on edge waiting for them to arrive.

One doesn't walk into a persons house and pee on the floor and expect them to be happy with you, neither should one come into a discussion on a new system (that no one has even received yet) and pee on everyones new purchase to make a point that theres something better. :(

There is a place for everything! :D

@arsalan = please keep your posts clutter free? And edit the one on the last page, its going to make catching up on the thread so much harder. Plus there's no need for so many spaces. Take out those. My middle finger is tired from scrolling mate. $1,1991 is insane, nobody here has actually broken the $1500 threshold. And yes, its the config half of the people on the thread are getting, so it can't be bad... Unless half the people in the thread are... Never mind.

EDIT: Tell that to the aussies. They pay a lot more than the canadiens do. Trust me. LOTS MORE.

No need to cancel, if you got all the coupons you can put it up on ebay and make a few bucks. I have been contemplating this over the last few days. Still not sure what I will do but I am sure either way I will be able to make a couple bucks on ebay if I decide to sell the m11x.

You're good! It's weird because while you have your computer plugged in, it keeps the battery topped off at 100% so it's constantly going through charge/recharge cycles. The heat of the laptop also plays a factor as to how fast it deteriorates, although Li-Ion batteries now-a-days are made to be plugged in all the time so there's really no benefit to being religious about keeping your battery plugged in all the time or not. You probably won't notice a difference between its normal deterioration and keeping it at optimum conditions.

Arsalan, clean up the copy before inserting into your post or take a screenshot of the details and attach it. I've edited your last two posts. Thanks.

@abusedbunny: that is a valid excuse I suppose, but they could also just rotate the exact areas they use or just use the heaviest problematic areas. They don't have to run the same exact tests every time, I dunno...I mean when anandtech does their custom tests, it's usually like an "average usage session" that's nearly impossible to recreate.

I just think with a little work it could be handled a little differently or at least run most tests that can be compared with, then run a few that they don't reveal.

I understand what your saying but it's not always about "pee on the floor" at least as far as i'm concerned it's all about getting the most for my hard earned pennies. Being that this hasn't shipped yet at this point it's more of a prospective owners thread than anything else and so is filled with potential buyers trying to make the right decision including myself. Fortunately I got in on all the coupons so I think I can actually make a few bucks if I decide to go a different direction but with the coupons gone now not everyone is in the same boat.

@ceol = I'm getting lost with what I've just posted and the massive paste posts. So we shouldn't cal our Li-ion batts and anything we try to do wouldn't really matter much?

@arsalan = We have canadiens here, just wait for them to show up. They will be able to help you.

do you mean $1,191? there 4 numbers behind the comma.
the harddrive and ram upgrade is $100, and the processor upgrade is $100, and im not sure if u have any extra software on there, but if not it would be 1,000 plus tax. thats not too much compared to some other countries, japans price is outrageous
