I've been following the CW thread a bit lately. With i5 and 330m OC'd people are hitting 7700. If people are going to say we can OC the su7300, I really doubt 3Dmark06 would get up to that mark. But I don't care too much about 3Dmark06 but if people want to know about that, then yeah pretty nice. Both are going to be basically the same gaming performance wise IMO. Except the i5 will kill doing any CPU applications. So put that into the Sony Z.. amazing

Because that guy with the 650$ order left his order # in, I actually just called EPP and tried to get them to give me the same order for the same price. He first saw it and said wow that is an amazing price let me go talk to my manager. He took 15minutes to talk to his manager and he then got back to me. He said that his manager said that his price is so low because he used coupons that stacked that were not allowed to stack. So then I said I used coupons that stacked in my order and my price isn't that low for a worse configuration. He then said that most likely this order will get canceled because the price is to low and he couldn't do anything for me. He then checked my order and said most likely my order is safe since I ordered on the 3rd and it probably is getting built now.

But you have to take out a loan for the Z, it's over $2000 bucks. I actually owned the CW with the i5, 330m, and 1600x900 screen. Decent laptop. Very good looking in white. Gaming is, keeping in mind that it's running on a much higher res, pretty good, too.

LOL that is kind of scary though because the truth is not many of our 11x are really being built yet (Credit Card not charged yet) so it means any of our orders can be canceled by Dell at anytime now? Seeing how they disabled all the coupons maybe they will disable all the orders that used the coupons? Maybe you just make Dell realize the mistake and now they cancel everyones orders? I hope not!

actually if you get his order canceled Filipp, that'd be kind of messed up. Who cares if he got a better deal than you or anyone else, not like he went out of his way to sabotage anyone else on getting the deal. He called in HIMSELF to try to work out a deal. Isn't that what everyone else is saying to do in this thread? To call in and try to get a good deal. I'm not saying that's what you were trying to do, but ppl being happy about him possibly getting his order canceled is pretty messed up.

Notice I said "owned", meaning that I no longer have it anymore. I got the one from BB, so no SSD. The cpu was i5. I only played TF2, CSS, Civ4, SF4, and unreal 3 on it. I tried to play Crysis maxed out, no shadows, and on the lowest resolution...it was a little laggy (maybe 15fps?), so I uninstalled it. I hate it how nothing I own can max out Crysis. My desktop plays it really well maxed out, but lags randomly due to it having only 2 GB of ram.

Any flamewar which breaks out will end badly...

Also, concerning this business with someone's order - let it go. Whatever someone did with info which should not have been posted is not cool. Everyone can negotiate with their sales rep - leave it alone.

No one here is beating on the guy who got a better deal. We're merely trying to figure out how he got that better deal. Nothing happened to even imply that a problem is being caused by discussing this guy's price. :( Not sure why the harsh reprimand.

Yeah I just wanted to get the same order / price he got and thought that would be the best way to go since there is no other way to get it that cheap any more. After trying there is no way to get the same price. I am sure the rep I spoke to was just BSing to make me feel better by saying the order will get canceled cause I doubt it will.

I don't know... if word got out that someone fleeced an excellent deal like that, they might lose some money. I'm surprised his order went through because Dell should have some sort of clearance that needs to be met in order to take off a lot.

This is why you never share the best deals you get. ;)

I don't think so. The 9800M GTS may be older 65nm tech and packs eight less shaders than the 335M, but it is clocked significantly higher at 600mhz and happens to pack a 256-bit memory interface. Not even close lol.

The 335M does have 40nm fabrication going for it though, the core is only clocked at 450mhz to make it work in a netbook.... If you take your sweet time with overclocking, you should have no problem exceeding 600mhz and retain stability, given you take proper cooling precautions :D

    and also..
do you think the 256 bit memory bus is only useful in AA ???
to me speed is everything... ( GB/sec)
if both GPU have similar performance the memory bus will make a HUGE different when one is 128bit and the other is 256 bit..
the different can be 20-30% in performance.

I don't think the 310m will be much fun haha. 3Dmark06 is common to look at the numbers I guess. Crysis benchmark would be nice too but that'd require a lot of downloading on your part.

At relatively low rez 720p, the 256-bit bandwidth advantage doesn't really kick in yet. Benching games at 720p, and by overclocking the bejeezus out of the poor little thing, you could get frames up there, maybe just 10% shy of the 9800M GTS. At any bit higher resolution, or with AA... different story.

    that depend on what games...
the reason why you said.. at 720p it doesn't matter.. because if the game doesn't have large texture then the memory speed will not matter too much until the AA is enable.. then the memory usage grow big..

but in games which have large texture even with out AA. then memory speed matter
