*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

Tell me about it. I order 4 days earlier, AND my order gets "expediated", and my EDD still hasn't even been updated! All it did was put me in boxing stage, which some people have been in since monday.

I guess it's better than the build-stage purgatory that you're in, but when you still have no idea when you'll be getting your system, it's not much help.

Of course, this may be further evidence that expediting does nothing - why did expediting one order make it ship immediately while so many of us haven't even gotten updated EDDs? Might just be a fluke.

 

i called my rep today and he claims my order is in the final stages of boxing...
he said it will ship sometime this weekend... i seriously hope so.. although my EDD has not been updated im hoping for a miracle!

Well - I do have to ask - what HDD did you order? I noticed you have a 128GB SSD in your tag line - however, to my knowledge, only a 256 GB SSD option was/is available?

If you have the 256 GB SSD - that may be your holdup - as I haven't seen anyone with an SSD note that theirs have shipped yet.

 

^^ that or I just noticed you have Lunar gray - that could be the issue too...

I do really hope everyone gets their order soon though..

 

@js = the Grays aren't the reason the units are holding up. Chewie on the arrival thread just posted pics of his.

The SSD is aftermarket, I have it sitting on my desk right now lol. The M11x was ordered with the 160gb drive.

 

I am stuck in the build purgatory as well. Ordered on 2/3 with the
following specs

su7300
500gb
4gb Ram

My EDD is 3/4/10.

I wish I would just see some update in my order status. A little glimmer
at the end of the tunnel. Man this is frustrating

Which SSD did you end up getting? I finally settled on the OCZ Agility 120GB - for $299 after rebates, etc. Almost got the Vertex for $30 more - but after reading several reviews - it appears that the Agility / Vertex / Intels are all pretty close for the most part. Intels obviously have an advantage in certain tests - however - I couldn't justify another $100-$150 for another 40GB.. Hoping there's a pretty decent price drop with SSDs this year so I can get a bit of a larger drive for this laptop and move the Agility to my desktop as a boot drive..

 

^^ *duh* just noticed the brand - which model (assuming samsung has multiple models like OCZ)?

 

still facing shortage even after a week?

mine just been shipped from factory yesterday. should be receiving it by Wed/Thurs. if that's the case, it would be close to 3 weeks since my payment was confirmed. Dell did keep their promise on the 3 weeks lead-time for delivery.

 

remember that miracle i was hopping for!?!?!
i think it just happened!! i got this email from a rep.... and it says...

This is to confirm that your order is in the final stages of the production and its estimated to be shipped within the next 24 – 72 Hrs .

does anyone know if they ship on saturdays or sundays???

 

i dont think they work on saturdays and sundays because if i remember correctly i couldnt call customer rep on saturdays and sundays

 

So another interesting note/update..

I saw another thread that suggested searching by reference number for a tracking ID - so - since I got nowhere with Dell - I used my order number/etc. in the FedEx site along with my delivery zipcode and, sure enough, there's an entry in the system for a Delivery initiation, at approximately the same time late last night that the Dell Order status pages updated.

Even *more* interesting is that the site is showing a delivery date of tomorrow (2/20) - which *would* be a miracle..

Now if my SSD would get here...

EDIT: FedEx is showing 2/20 - Dell still shows 2/23...

well they delievered my m15x on a saturday but that would just be fedex. so if they shipped it out already u might be able to get it on a weekend

Haven't posted in this thread before, but I had ordered my core2duo, 500gb, 4gb ram m11x on feb 2nd, and my EDD was for 3/3, and all of a sudden it just got updated saying my EDD is 2/24.

I live in Richmond Va, BTW

It's an old RBX series. Nowhere near as good as your OCZ agility, but I got it for about $100 cheaper.

It actually wasn't exactly the SSD I was expecting (got it on ebay, thought seller had gypped me but turned out Samsung had the wrong datasheet for this model posted on the website). But whatever, it doesn't stutter like those jmicron ssds (even after write degradation) and is way faster than any mechanical HDD in real-world performance. Works for me, and cheaper than buying a new one.

Knowing what I know now, I would've bought the OCZ Agility. Nice choice.

Back on topic, a question for those whose orders have shipped. When did your EDD change? When you got to boxing stage? Before that? When it shipped?

@Wingzee= HOLY COW. My status dates are the same as yours.... Order received the 11th and In production on the 17th!!!! Sigh... Can you PM me the order number? Someone will have a great monday... Growls.

 

and build is nowhere near completion yet? Dell reps love Mondays.

i guess my order was affected by the battery shortage as somehow the order was only received on 11th (despite payment went through on 5th) and it was only being build on 17th (normal Dell orders will be build almost immediately once order has been received, which should be 12th/13th).

 

Nope, I get lots of reps telling me tons of stuff. One told me that the casing was having issues. Another told me that the battery packs were in shortage. Sigh... The fact that my order entered the system on the same day as yours is infuriating me more. And lets add the fact that my configuration is also the same as yours save for the colour... I could explode now. Thanks for the order number too mate. +rep

well, i guess the best way is to speak to your SA. had the same situation like yours where different reps gave different EDDs, discrepancies on shortage issues etc. prolly the silver cover having shortages?

SA told me a different story too. Care reps are terrible help, they don't even know where their bosses are. Dunno mate but hell, someone's gonna get it on monday.

 

my rep just said he'd email me if anything changes from 'build' stage ..
2/3.. to2/20.. 17 days.. and counting.. jeez it's only been 2 weeks and i'm so whiny .. didn't even notice it's only been that long..

Actually, I'd say its the news of the first arrivals making people think "Hey where in the world is mine then???" making people more impatient.

Matutu I had the call yesterday aswell, roll on Tuesday 23rd! Just for info shipping from China to UK, delivery has taken 6 days including a weekend. M11X will be delivered 1 day ahead of original estimate.

 

when did you order i ordered 10th my edd is 26/02?

 

I ordered 8th, EDD 03/08. SU7300, 4GB, 500GB and no nameplate. Oh and its silver.

 

Should I get concerned about missing my EDD? It's this Thursday and Im STILL In Production (???)

 

Its probably not updated yet, probably be worried if it doesn't change on Monday. That would be your cue to ring up and bring out the big guns.
