*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

I ordered on the 5/02/10, my edd was 24/02/10.

 

These EDDs don't match up... Sigh. We'll see how next week goes.

 

yh i knwo geekeye ordered on 5th his edd is 24th i ordered 5 days later on the 10th and my edd is 2 days after his 26th lol

 

The reps don't work then. I was told however that the production is also done on weekends (so I hope mine will finish production this weekend, or monday latest).

 

@ahanslot = Plus I ordered before him and his EDD is almost a full week before mine. Makes no sense.

@morkeleb = Hopefully, any idea if shipping continues into the weekend?

 

I don't know if this information applies to you, but as far as I know, UPS does transportation of packages monday-saturday, however they only deliver monday-friday unless you pay extra, then they also deliver on saturday (i'm quite sure that dell will not include that extra fee).
I'm in europe, if you are anywhere else or another shipping company is used for you this may not apply for you.

I'm not even 100% where the M11x comes from when you order in europe. There are indications is from china (ups takes 4-5 days from there to europe).

 

@ Morkeleb = Lol, I'm in Malaysia, South East Asia. Soo... Not applicable. But since its been said that Dell charters planes to fly out their pallets from China, would those fly out on weekends?

 

No idea.
My guess is however that they will not on the weekend send out all that have been finished over the weekend on monday.

I thought at first they give it to the shipping company directly.
On the other hand a german recently got his shipping details and it appears to have been originated from Frankfurt where one of the large airplain-hubs is in central europe.

Maybe you find some good dell rep that can tell you more on how it works?

 

yes i wanna know aswell if they ship on saturday/sunday, that way i may be able to get my m11x early

 

Dell sends out the computers from china to the regional hubs for final packaging then hands em off to the couriers. EG: (My case) Computer is made in china. Shipped to Kuala Lumpur and then redirected to Penang (an island in Malaysia which has a Dell plant) for packaging with the accessories and whatnot then is handed off to the couriers. Not sure if they ship the units out from china on weekends, thats what I want to know.

 

IINM, DHL is the international carrier for Dell, while Skynet delivers locally (for Malaysia). and based on my current job which deals with DHL, yes they do ship from factories/plants on weekends.

 

I know in Europe (maybe with the exception of the UK) UPS is used to deliver for dell locally (at least all my deliveries from dell I got untill now where by UPS).

Would this mean that:
- if my M11x is finished say on sometime during sunday, DHL will start delivering later that sunday to ship it to europe
- when DHL finished delivering to some hub in europe they will give it over to UPS to make the delivery to my door?

 

Here's something I found curious. Ordered mine on 2/4, called to ask my business rep about expediting the order, and 2 days later is getting ready to ship. Here's the odd thing: I have a EDD of 2/23 and I have 7 day shipping. Unless it shipped last week there is no way I'll get it on 2/23...unless they gave me overnight without asking?

 

LOL, apparently my order has moved out of boxing and into shipping , but my EDD is still 3/4! For some reason they just don't want to update my EDD.

Whatever, I'm assuming it'll ship Monday, meaning I'll have it Tuesday. Hurrah!

same situation as opnickc; ordered 2/3/10 in boxing all last week, just changed to shipped 2/20/10 with next day business my EDD is 3/4/10 lol if it shipped I think it might come a lil sooner... just curious if it will be here monday or tuesday

 

has anyones shipped who ordered around the 10th so if you ordered like 7th, 8th or 9th feb?

 

I think one of the production lines that went down is back up and running now that we are starting to see some movement heres to hoping!!!

 

YAY! Came out of boxing yesterday, Order shipped Fedex will be delivered on Monday by 3pm...

kevin, when did you find out? I just found out mine shipped today and don't have a tracking number or anything.... If I was sure it was coming monday, I would be sick too

 

my orders been in production since monday i cant take it anymore the wait is killing me lol

 

keep calling the nice automated status check lady lol. Well i just called her again and at least my date has moved to shipping on 3/11 now. way better than the 3/17 they gave me before.

Rob, the site showed shipped but I didn't get a tracking number so I called into Dell order support, she went and checked the details, gave me my tracking number and told me it will be here monday. If yours shows shipped give Dell a call and they should be able to give you the tracking number! Good Luck!

 

1. yes, as they're working around the clock 24/7, AFAIK. the only issue is whether Dell's warehouse is operating on Sunday.
2. if UPS is Europe's/your country's local carrier then yes. all shipments would go through a hub before they're being delivered locally.

I got overnight shipping so I guess Monday or Tuesday I will be sitting on my porch from sunrise to sun down as UPS/FedEx both deliver by 9:00am for packages I'm not waiting for and 7:00pm for packages I am anticipating.

 

Weird...I ordered mine on the 5th and my edd is the 5th or March. In boxing stage now since I think Tuesday or so. How in the world did you all get February EDDs? And Dell setup free next day shipping.

 

Ordered 2/3 still in Build.. HAve been for like 16 days now. Frustration building.. ARGH.....

 

I ordered on 8th, went into production on the 15th, but is still in production.
Must be in the later stages of it now though (called yesterday, and was told it was about 1/3 through). I estimate it to be shipping in the next 2-3 days.

 

WHOA! Just checked the website again, and now it says shipped! Next business day shipping, "Data Temporarily Unavailable", and yet, still a EDD of 3/3/10... curious, yet quietly excited!

So DHL would have the ability to start on sunday, but that does not mean anything if the warehouse does not process on sunday, so it would get sent on monday?

Would DELL tell me it's shipped when they gave it to DHL or when it handed over to UPS (yes, UPSs used locally here)?

Lawd have mercy! Mine just changed to SHIPPED! EDD still showing the March 5th though (even though the automated system says it is in the hands of the carrier)...ohhhhbboooyyyyy NOW I am excited!!!!

Mine has finally been "placed in the hands of the carrier" and should ship the next business day. Should arrive 3/4. Now that is one LONG day LOL. More like tuesday.

very nice.

 

It is probably different factories for each area, so like one for Euro, one for US, etc. However, more specifically, they are built on many different lines within the factory, and some lines got delayed, had malfunctions and failures, and so some people who ordered on 2/2 could still be waiting while other lines that have run smooth may be shipping units ordered on 2/5 or 2/6 by now.

sweet! i just found the forums yesterday. after lurking for a few hours i saw the status number after calling i got a good surprise my status is "placed in the hands of the carrier, should shipped with in the next business day ". hopefully i get it by tuesday.

on dells website it says "in production"

when the automated lady asked if u wanted to know more she updated my edd when my order status page was 3/17. she told me 3/11 so im guessing she gets the info fastest so just tell the automated lady learn more or w/e she wants u to say. ur edd might be updated but the order page isnt
