*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

Got my tracking number from Dell, along with reassurance that the "N/A" listed as my address on the order tracking page on their website is nothing to worry about.

It's being shipped out of TN, a 12ish hour ride from where I am. Hopefully it gets to the local FedEx processing place today and to my house tomorrow :B

 

thanks guys, @opnickc thanks for the boxing timeline, gives me some hope. I did get NBD shipping, so if it did indeed ship by Thursday, having it this week will certainly work for me and maybe all will be forgiven

I was in Build stage at 12:00PM last night, but called this morning around 7AM EST and it was boxing. So I have a feeling the purgatory people may see movement today (I hope!).

*edit* spoke to a Dell rep just now, he said the EDD hasn't changed but then checked with the manufacturer and said it's in the second stage of shipping or something, which he said was testing and should probably ship out in 2-3 days from there, so very likely I could get it this week with my next day air. Best news I've heard since the M11x was put up online earlier this month

 

Just got my tracking number. Dell says it will deliver tomorrow. Fed Ex says it is on the truck for delivery today. Umm. Woohoo. I am freaking out...

 

Yay, from the time disembarking the train to getting to work, behold, a tracking number. I'm assuming they generated a number on Friday, and shipped it out this morning, hence why the only status on the fedex page is "Shipment information sent to FedEx." But oh well, still two weeks ahead of schedule so I'm not complaining!

 

Called my Alienware Rep and he said I should still be on track for Thursday's delivery even though it says In Production still...

 

Just got off with dell rep and just got the talk about how there could me many reasons why i didn't get mine before others who ordered after me... i politely asked her to talk to her manager n see what she can do... she said she sent a level 2 request to the manufacturing to see whats up or whatever... whatever that means lol.

 

Nick i wouldnt beleive that sorry dude but it takes 4 days to get from China to England , then 1 day from the Carriers to US . Sucks dude DELL UK suck so bad all they say is "It should come by the estimated date".

 

Wooohooo! My Mini-Me is in the "boxing" stage now, so I might actually see it the next two weeks

Ordered on 2/3 and allocated to one of the assembly facilities with part shortages. There were 5,000 to 10,000 back orders due to this, so my guess is there will be a FLOOD of orders shipping by the end of the week.

My fellow M11x friend, the date ordered is not as important as who the order was allocated to. Two facilities are assembling the orders, so just depends on who was allocated the order. Looks like yours went to the same place as mine

If this device was 100% made and shipped from one place- then the date would matter. This product was expected to sell HUGE, so broader scale production plan.

Could be possible if in boxing stage Then again, some people are/were in that stage for days, hence my two weeks "joke" above.

Just think that from the Time you get the shipping email its 3-4 days to the UK. Then 1 Day with the Carriers (City link or whoever) To your house :S.

 

Sure would be nice if we UK customers could get that kind of information on our orders. I tried phoning the US number and entering my order number with no joy (unrecognised order number, but hey, worth a shot right?).

Still ambiguously 'in production', ordered 2/2. Chasing my rep re: escalation, yet to hear back. grr

 

A few of the orders Im tracking for you guys have finally shipped as of the 20th. That includes mine, woohoo.

That is good news indeed. Mine went into boxing yesterday. Praying for it tobe shipped this week. got next day delivery. Ordered on 2/4.

 

My guess is a shipment flood is coming, since all of the orders in build purgatory were apprently allocated at the same facility. Two seperate reps noted 5,000 to 10,000 backorders. Reason for the 5,000 range is factories tend to reply in muliples due to batch order process. Stage advancement would only happen if the power supply issue has been resolved (that was the main reason reported).

 

Mines been like this since I got an email last wednesday...

I got so excited that it was shipping early, now nearly a week and no movement..

2/5 order place UK here.. I do hope that we get shipped tonight because my EDD is thursday and I'm kind of counting on this device to have been here by then at the latest.

That seems an odd tracking update for a Dell shipped product. Standard ground delivery? I went with next day, since usually more specific shipment updates.

 

It is usually the person who wants it the most...

 

I ordered on the 4th and mine is 'Out for Delivery' today. YAAAAAY!

I really don't know whats up with the tracking status of these orders but one thing is for sure, its not how they usually go down. I got an invoice this weekend with my service tag number, and usually I get an invoice after it's shipped, with no service tag number, I usually see the service tag number on the packing slip attached to the shipped order off the order status page when its out the door.

It's all smoke and mirrors IMHO.. hopefully we'll be surprised today or tomorrow by the progress of our orders being further along than we currently believe they are.

 

@nick I'm US-based, ordered on 2/3 and have been stuck in build since the 4th or so.

 

I just looked at my order, and for Shipping Methode... Its blank..

I beleive I used the stanard, free, shipping option.

Awesome mine just went from 3/8/10 to 2/22/10 with an EDD of 2/23/10 (they upgraded me to free next business day shipping) between last night and this morning.

For the record, I called last night and the automated service still said my unit was "in production" in the "boxing stage".

 

@unknown host how long were you in boxing stage? Just curious, would love to see an instant change in mine, but I just changed into boxing stage between late last night and this morning.

 

This sucks. Ordered 2/4 payed for overnight shipping and still stuck in the build stage. I talked to customer service (aka Dell India) and all he could tell me was exactly what the automated message says. He started saying something about putting in a request to see if anything was wrong and as soon as he said that hung up on me! But according to him, there is nothing delaying the computer

 

Edit: Wrong dell order, not my M11x. Still unconfirmed delivery date.

I just got a call from fedex letting me know i will be getting a package checked dell website says my m11x is shipped!!

Ordered 02/02 (US Order) original EDD was 3/5 - changed to 2/23 a week ago.

My M11x has been in "shipped" status since Feb 17th !!...
Supposed EDD is 2/23 (tomorrow).

I can't get an answer out of the reps other than it is waiting to be picked up and has been since last week ..........

To cap it all - paid for NBD shipping and they have shipped it Ground !

HULK SMASH! Seriously though, i was hoping for an update today, since i was very early to place my order.

Also: filled out spreadsheet.

 

I'm in the same scenario - just called both FedEx and Dell. FedEx states they haven't received the unit/package yet - only the "label". FedEx received the label on 2/19 - the unit "shipped" yesterday on 2/21 - and will supposedly be here by 2/23 according to Dell's site. (FedEx's site originally showed a 2/20 anticipated delivery indicating to me that the label has been entered as a next-day delivery - however that's been since removed as of yesterday).

Dell (Customer "Service") states that it has been "shipped" - but they can't tell me where it's being shipped from, etc. (i.e. I'm not sure they know exactly where the unit physically is at this point in time). Either Dell has jumped the gun and pre-filled out all the shipping labels with FedEx - and now we're waiting on the systems.. Or - we'll see our systems shipped out today/tomorrow as promised.

 

One other thought I had is that this is a result of the "expedite" that was offered .. in that they (Dell) have basically pre-filled out everything ahead of time and have it ready for when it's received, etc. Not sure, however, we'll have to see.

Mine's the same way. In actuality though it's only been 2-3 business days depending on how you look at it. Still annoying though.

 

Wait a minute, that was my wrong dell order. I still dont have a delivery date confirmed!

 

Can someone PLEASE pm me their order number so I can tell the rep that mine hasnt even left the production stage. This is ridiculous.

Wow, I've been lurking here since I ordered my m11x on the 15th of february. Status was stuck on the phase before "in production" (don't know how to translate that one, roughly it was work in progress?). This afternoon it jumped from that to shipping. EDD was 3/12 but I assume I can expect it in a few days now? I'm from holland btw, but ordered an english win7 instead of the default dutch. Guess I got lucky or something.
