    Ok im now worried again about mine lol, it said to be deliverd AM today, and i live local to plymouth and it says the following:

    But it does not say it has left the depot or anything :s it just says it is there :S, anyone else get this?

    Matutu, that page won't update before you've got it in your hands - don't worry :) My last few dells (and i've ordered many for customers and such from various companies i've worked for) have been tracked this way, just be ready to sign for it when it gets there and all will be well :)

    for those in uk i can track using a method posted by another user when my status was in production, it changed to shipped yesterday on dells tracking, and i know have a tracking number it says the carrier is WUK and my tracking number is like 20 characters any help?

    I ordered 2/8... Plus I'm still in purgatory. You're probably behind the biggest backorder in AW history so don't fret. Once the pistons start firing, you'll get your machine way earlier than that.

    my status on walsh western changed to this 10 minutes ago CALL LOCK OUT.
    any idea what it means?

    if you get yours today, that means according to your shipping screen shot i will ge tmine tomorow :)

    Call lock out means that they cant do anything more until the automated system calls you to arrange a delivery. You will know hopefully when they call you the final delivery time and you can say if you want it Am or PM.

    Also when i had call lock out it was a further 2 days before they were supposed to be delivering it (Today). And im still waiting on the door step haha

    Well after initially being told that my baby alien was gonna be here yesterday, then the Fedex system loosing it for about 22 hours, I called in the likes of Mulder and Scully to find it. It just showed back up on the Fedex radar and will be here today. Gotta call Dell later and get a refund on my overnight shipping. Bastaches!

    I am beginning to think that it is not as much part shortages as much as it is factory and logistics incompetence. JMO.

    Basically, if your system was allocated to the "good place" you were set and if the "bad place", you are not. Perhaps Home's system was a leak from... "the bad place".... ;)

    Next trend I expect is a higher rate of failures or problems with these "later" shipped units. Just sayin'... :rolleyes:

    Well, same for me... got sick of waiting. Called rep, advised that orders submitted long after this date were being shipped... what gives?

    She was great... put me on hold and came back saying that numerous orders were being help up by a backorder on PROCESSORS and BATTERIES. Of course, I asked her how this could be happening on earlier orders with others going out already...especially given they all use the same battery! She agreed... said it must be something related to the location where mine (and some other's here) are getting built. She submitted a ticket for a factory update and expedited status and gave me the ticket#, she also said she would will follow the order until it is in my hands. She even saw that I paid for overnight shipping and she refunded that right away. Sent me an email with her return address and direct line too.

    Thought maybe mine was a bit different that those I've seen here as I have the Verizon mobile Gobi in the build but that apparently is not the issue.

    Anyway, thought I'd make the post for all of us that ordered on 3/4 and are still in production hell. :(

    did not get a tracking number but i've got a call and an SMS from Dell saying it will be delivered tomorrow (9am-2pm). that's sorta a confirmation for the delivery of your unit. got the same call and SMS for my last order too. PMed you my order number and customer code. hope it's able to speed up things for you. :)

    Mine is finally on the Truck for Delivery :) Ordered 2/3 with Overnight.First game I'm installing is Bioshock,quite possibly my favorite game of all time.Then Bioshock 2.Then...who knows,probably some Duke Nukem Manhattan Project? ;)

    @rpomygal- This supports my theory that some of our Mini-Me's are being made at a "bad place", where incompetence and logistics cluelessness dwells.

    I honestly will NOT be surprised if some (more than normal) of the batch of later shipments have quality problems. Makes too much sense not to happen. Seen it before.

    EDIT: The last time I ordered, the courier just popped up at my place. No email, no sms, no call. Just HONK HONK.

    Could still all be good- think happy :) thoughts ;)

    Had I not spent four years in contract manufacturing for IBM and then as an OEM printer supplier for Dell for three years, I would not be so cynical ;)

    I did all of the planning and had to deal with the supply / demand issues. Just because you save some money going to the "cheapest" place to make the product, does not mean it will be good. Get what you pay for- at the customer's expense ;)

    @wing = I fly out to NZ on the 27th. Any later and it would mean at least half a year using uni PCs... "Groans miserably" Plus did I mention I got tons of very unhelpful Dell Care reps today? An extraordinary number, almost felt like they shoved every incompetent fool they had in the call center at me...

    @nukey = We should probably hold off judgement, since we may all have good products. Perhaps this will be an exception to the norm ;)

    I can say that I will be more suprised if some of us do not have problems, but again, I am cynical due to experience in the field. If some of us do have problems, that would be significant, since we are a small sample (several in a small sample is actually huge- from an SQL perspective).

    Then again, none of us may have problems and all is good! :)

    @rushy = Well we already have a lemon hit a forumer (homebrewer) but so far all the rest of the systems shipped out have not crashed and burned (Probably cause there was too much snow in the US and UK to notice anything burning, even the next door house) I sincerely wish the final statement is the true one. :D

    So Fedex is officially open (the shipping facility in my town) I call and they said that that truck STILL hasn't been sorted yet and to call back at noon. I hate Fedex... are they seriously saying they leave the ONLY shipping container they received yesterday unsorted for over 24 hours. The rep I got on the phone was actually confused when her system showed it wasn't sorted, stating "I don't know how they do things at this Cape Girardeau facility but they are not doing them right, I've made note of this" and told me I should have been able to pick it up yesterday by 5:00pm with the time the container came in. AHH!!
