I don't know how you do it, wing. I called and rep told me he was going to put in a request and my 3/3 edd has not budged.

 

Man, even with the delays I'm still jealous of you guys . EDD 4 April lol. On the other hand though, I don't pay shipping or tax and got my order and $900 flat which I can't complain about.

 

Uk dd has just moved to 25/2

What a load of crap, why put it at 11/2 in the first place? I blew an extra £60 on an airplane charger and I'll be back from my trip by the time I get my laptop.

btw, you should check your EDD over the phone a couple times during your trip. From what I've heard, Dell likes to beat the EDD, even just by a little bit, to satisfy customers. You don't want your M11x sitting out on the porch for a few days!

 

the EDD on the online system will not budge usually. mine still stated as 3/3. i believe you can try to reach the customer care dept. and ask 'em about your current revised EDD (it will updated time to time).

i bet you're still gonna receive yours within March.

 

Yep, mine has moved overnight from 10/2 to 25/2. Patience is a virtue with these things

Hey guys, strange thing just happened. Dell m'sia guy told me production was in china and that 25/2 was too tight a schedule to call. Dell india guy told dad that it's made in malaysia and shouldn't take any longer than 8 days.

 

Were all in the same boat mate mines gone from the 11/02 -26/02/2010

yeah i was told M11x's production line is in China too. tried expedite via customer care instead of your SA?

certain models indeed are build in Malaysia. definitely not the M11x though.

 

Going to ring them up tomorrow again. Sigh this is frustrating...

 

it's always possible to get orders expedited unless part shortages occur.

man all these EDD being pushed out worries me. guess i will make daily calls to the customer care to get latest updates on mine.

 

With my luck, they might be missing every part short off the nameplate... Oh well.

 

lol if my EDD gets pushed back, then we know that something major is wrong. I'm hoping these don't have issues like the last two M17X versions have, which had some pretty big flaws. Guess I'll have to fully stress it out when it finally gets here. Which I can't wait to do.

 

And with the my my luck's gone in the past 3 minutes, I'd say they have not a single part for me...

haha, very true! I'll report back on that one. I think the military should pick these up to operate the drones. Then it would really be like MW2. Not sure why some people are getting concerned. The expected ship date is first week of March, so anything earlier would be a bonus. We all made pre-orders. Of course, it does not help the way Dell defines their order status. "In production" covers a lot of things and one part of the process is actually production.

Again, you will know your order is actually "in production" if you can no longer cancel it. They lock the order in at that point, since it is a bill of material to their process- when they actually allocate parts to that order.

 

I'm concerned cause I need it earlier. I won't be home until next year. Sure its ahead of schedule, but still wish I can get it before March.

 

Just called the automated line, and mine is still in the build stage. Still schedule for 3-4 delivery.

 

heh - so mine is all of the following - depending on which screen you're currently on in the site:

"In Production"
"Work In Progress"
"Pre Production"

Automated line states that the order is "Currently in Process" - whatever that means.

Though I just ordered it 2 days ago - so I don't expect it sooner than everyone else here..

EDD is 3/11/10 - Ship Date is showing as 3/5/10

It could be different for you since you're in Malaysia or whatever.. but if you really needed a computer ASAP, then M11x was not the one to pick. I think it was pretty much a given that the M11x would probably not ship until March 1st. Anything before, as stated, would be lucky or wishful thinking.

 

It's funny how customer care tells me less about my order than the auto-phone status update.

Just got off the phone with them and they could only tell me that it's in production and EDD is 3/3.
The 2210 number actually tells me that it's in the build stage.

 

Which number are you calling ?
The one that I was given - 1-800-433-9014 tells me nothing at all other than the order date and EDD.

Mine was 3/3 and stayed at 3/3. I ordered on 2/2.

 

I ordered on 2/2 . . TWICE - due to the Bluetooth Fiasco !

 

Got a call back from a rep about some confusing information on the dell invoice I got. The rep upgraded my shipping to next day for free lol. Shipping out on the 3rd, hopefully get it by the 4th T_T. Hopefully Bioshock 2 carries me out till march.

Oh man, just for fun I decided to check if they updated anything and the delivery date reflects that of the rep's. Effin sweet!

I ordered 2/2 and EDD is 3/3. I should be in the early group for US. A rep was also going to submit an internal request to expedite my order. I guess we'll see.

I'm guessing the M11x will start rolling in, in 2 weeks for the early orders

Ok - thanks for the update folks. Was seeing a few posts in the OL and I was under the impression some of you already had the unit in hand. Was worried I needed to get that Benchmark thread going ASAP.

 

i am not understanding? are we going to be in preorder list if i order today or tomm ? is this laptop not out yet?

 

When you order arsalan, it has to be built. If you order today, you'll receive an ESD (Estimated Ship Date). This is shown in your cart prior to ordering as well. Although this is an Alienware, it follows much of the same process as the Dell Order Process. You can see some of this process and the steps here:

Par for the course. Us people that ordered early have EDD's of March 3 through 8. I'm March 8.

 

How come here in Dell Canada you don't see the detail order status?

It only says "In Production"

 

I ordered my configuration the day the Dell/Alienware order page launched and I'm March 8 as well.

Here's to hoping we get a review unit in the lab from Alienware before the one I ordered arrives.

Actually, I believe even here in the US we don't really see a detailed order status. I could be wrong since I have not ordered a system for some time but the last time I had one in production, it only showed as "In Production" until it hit the boxing stage.

 

BatBoy is 100 percent correct. Here in the US the Dell Order Status website just says "In Production" with the "Estimated Delivery Date" until the order hits the boxing and shipping stage.

Also, I think it's lame that Dell doesn't automatically send you an email when your order ships ... you have to register for an email notification on the order status website if you want them to notify you when your notebook ships.

Kudos to A33a33in for posting this a few pages back.

This will tell you what status it is actually in. in production basically means that your credit card has been charged and it hasn't shipped yet. If you call the number, it will give you a more detailed answer. For example, mine is in build stage like most others.
