Yes, i'm serious. Spend a half hour talking to India about it (customer service), and they say there is an "internal part shortage". He sent off a request to have my order expidited, and IF it gets approved, i might see it in the middle of March.

How could they have hit a parts shortage for my order when i ordered it on the day of release?? How are others who ordered AFTER me receiving theirs already..

Very frustrated right now, this is a huge poop sandwich.

My config was 4gb, 7300, 500gb hdd. I paid 1249 CAD for it. No coupons for us

Okay, I'm planning to order soon if I can get the deal I want, a fellow Canadian member here got 12% off I believe and I'm going to see if he is willing to share his powers But if not, I might go with the Asus.
I can wait till mid-May but that's the latest I can go. Perhaps some coupons will arise by then!

I LITERALLY just got off the phone with EPP resolutions, i was calling to upgrade my order to overnight shipping... she was very professional AND English-speaking...

she had my orders upgraded and also submitted the request to get priority build status (which i dont think ever happens btw) and didn't even charge me for the next day shipping.

My order status on the phone and online now reflects that change, instead of march 17th, it's down to march 11th (shipping on/before the 10th)

Maybe call back? This lady sent me e-mail confirmation of the conversation too, so I feel like she would have seen something like that

my rep is giving me part shortage crap also and says that none of them are shipping early.. liar!!

 

If you go to order a M11x it doesn't show any part shortage and a shipping date of 23/3

 

I'm STILL waiting on a Studio 17 that I order Nov. 25th, 2009. If my M11x, which i ordered 2/3 gets delayed even 1 day I am going to lose it.

 

I just had a manager call me and said one of the factories had some problems and apologized for the delay. He promised that my notebook will be shipped out before the weekend and would call me back when it did.

 

Well after Dell said it shipped on the 16th.. I finally got a tracking number that said more than Info received last night. This morning FedEx rang the bell and my machine is here ahead of schedule. Just craking it open now but so far it looks pretty sharp.

 

It seems to be a standard "lie" used by the reps to get people off the phone.
As well as my M11x (which is supposedly on the truck for delivery today) I ordered a bigger brother - the M15x - I was told on Friday that there were shortages of Processor, Keyboard and Screen with no known resolution date - the M15x arrived an hour ago !!!!

 

I just got an email back from the rep I'm staying in contact with and she said orders are going out on a first come first serve basis. What does that even mean for those of us who ordered on the 3rd ha ha. Makes me rage hard.

I'm in mercer island, wa. Seems like us Wa owners are getting owned?

I really hope that Dell rep knows what he is talking about. Gives me a little hope. This reminds me of when I ordered my Area 51 m15x and the huge
delays it had. Blah what a bunch of hogwash.

 

My rep also said that.. he said it all depends on the availability of the parts..
He was a little mean imo. he said my frustration was "unacceptable" which makes me want to punch him in the face :|. His name was Younis.

 

I haven't been waiting as long as some of you have, but I ordered mine on the 15th - For the past 8 days whenever I call (4-2-1-1) it says my order has been processed and is pre-production. What the hell is pre-production and why does it take so long lol.

 

I believe pre-production is when they gather the parts for your order and such.
Correct me if I am wrong.

 

I wouldn't worry about what the phone says - both of my orders went from "Order Processing" to "Shipped" - at no time did the computer lady say my machine(s) were in build.

M15 x - Ordered 2/10 - Delivered 2/23
M11x - Ordered 2/2 - Delivery on 2/23 - supposedly.

 

@darkamikaze: first let me say that I feel bad that you havent got your system yet and others who have ordered after you are ahead in line.. also that you have reps lying through there teeth at you. seriously sucks....

now I will play devils advocate here for one moment. we all agreed to pay for a system that was expected to arrive March Xth. so far that has not changed. you agreed that was an acceptable delivery date by purchasing the system. from that perspective your frustration may be veiwed as "unacceptable"

dont get me wrong, I felt wronged as well when peeps who ordered after me were getting ship dates when I was still in build.

 

You skipped build purgatory? By my calender, build takes 18 days and counting.

No matter how many times I speak to the computer lady, she always reminds me how important the information is and I better write it down.

 

yea I know but my emotions can't be surpressed especially if you're frustrated about a matter that makes sense to be frustrated about. I can hate all I want at Dell or even the rep but I am still waiting. I am not calling back nitpicking the problem. I am just waiting. in anger. and agravation.

 

I'll be camping in our hallway all morning tomorrow until my damn laptop comes lol. >_>

Devils advocate also suggests that if the tables were turned, most of you that got your systems before March would be doing the EXACT same thing and rightfully so

I am treating it as fate. If I get the M11x by Friday, I will keep it. If not, I am going to Best Buy on Saturday and get the CW27FX One pound more and a little bigger, but no dealing with Dell BS and their less than groovy customer service. Like I said- I can be a spiteful beeeuch

Same price too, since the DVD drive I got made the price within a dollar- tax and all. One thing that sux about the CW27FX is no turning the GPU off Dang! I do not need the GPU for MAME action or old school emulators, but do for everything else..... Waffle waffle waffle.

Deep down, I want the Mini-Me, but THIS is a matter of principle!!!! And spite!!!!

 

Right now I'm just waiting on ceowulf to tell me his has shipped and I'll base my next action from there.. and right now I'm sitting on my red velvet couch.. with my AC130 ready to drop me in the hearts of China with my ebony and ivory ready to wreak havok and win me my m11x.

 

just to put it in perspective...if these boards didn't exist and we had no idea people who ordered after us are already getting their laptops, we'd be perfectly fine with the original EDD. it's just the fact that we're aware people ordered after us are getting their laptops before us is frustrating...

Well I ordered mine 2/2 and just got it today, so hopefully all the people stuck in build will see them start moving

 

Assumption being that the EDD will be honored. Not seeing how the units drag this long and then suddenly ship for next week. Especially after finding out even boxing stage can drag due to part shortages. I will be more surprised units ship next week than not.

 

Mine will be delivered tomorrow according to Fedex... I ordered on 2/3... Just standard 7 day, but it shipped the 22nd from Chicago, I am in Minnesota. Pretty good for std shipping.

 

I should really stop visiting this thread.. seeing all these people who ordered on or after my date of order.. just makes me sulk and depressed.. why build stage why!!

 

Not surprised, but at least the Dell rep is following up: My unit is in boxing stage, but the product is STILL waiting on parts. Funny thing it is STILL the fricking power cord /power supply kit!!!!!

Again I was told the facility my order is in still has over 5,000 back orders due to a combination of issues, but mainly memory and power supplies. The planning team must be a complete clusterfruck' there. My only guess is they were not ready for production and the other facility that people lucked out with for some order allocations were.

I am not seeing the EDD for next week being honored for a lot of people (that are in build purgatory). This all smells of a pushback- especially if currently in build stage, since the accordion effect hurts the further back in the queue.

Come on "Dellboy" Only fools and horses, or M11x orders too? A little British TV joke...

Any Canadian orders effected by part shortages?
I phoned yesterday and asked the rep and she said that she wasn't showing any for my config ( C2D, 4 GB Ram, 250 gig HD, Standard Nameplate ), and pushed my EDD up 8 days( but we all know how reliable DELL is )
Just thought I would ask as I read through the posts more and more ppl are bringing up parts shortages.

 

My EDD is 3/3. I'm still in the build stage and I don't see how my order will be tested, boxed, and shipped in 4 business days. I'm betting it will be delayed even longer. Woot! Ordered 2/2 yey!

 

I'll be raged. I'll also be a Viao Z owner.

 

If my order gets pushed back, I'll just cancel. 3/4 is pretty far at this point and anything after that will just kill me (unless they get it to me by 3/5 or something). A month to build a laptop when other orders have already been pushed out? When I was one of the first orders in? No, thanks.

I would really like an M11x but I don't want Dell to get my money if they're going to bend me over beforehand.

 

I called to follow-up and now I am being told the part shortage was not current news and my order is in the final stage before shipment. If it ships tomorrow (boxing for several days by then) I will believe it (by default).

If we see a flood of shipments start in a few days, next week may be possible, but I just have a bad feeling due to the part issues. Being cynical is NOT good at all. Coal for a heart is never good

@rushmore a parts shortage would be okay if they just did orders by the order date and not randomly.

 

Not here, mine was actually attempted to be delivered at about 10:00 AM today. Protip: Dell doesn't authorize Purolator to reroute the package once they have it. I've got a long drive in store.

 

@ Rush - When exactly did yours yours switch to boxing? When did you order?

Mine ordered 2/3 and went into Boxing late Sunday night 2/21 (Still boxing BTW)

 

Ordered 2/3 and boxing some time between Sunday night and Monday morning. Perhaps same as your status. Still boxing too, but that is final stage from shipping to customer.

At this point if all this part shortage is true I'm really skeptical as to when Im going to get my laptop. I'm with ceolwulf on this one. Any later then my EDD of 3/4 and I'm going to cancel. I already feel I've been cornholed by dell for way too long.

 

@ Binkojovin - I see you have ordered the GOBI card, it seems it is also a delayed part

I do not know if this helps, mine is going through chicago to oklahoma, shipped on the 19th and I will get it in the mornng of the 24th. I ordered right before they stopped stacking the coupons, it was on 2/3 afternoon, and after i ordered mine, about 10 mins later, people on the sites were saying that the coupons did not stack. I was able to get the 3% dpa also. I am curious about one thing, on my original order, the memory was @ 800mhz, and on the order page it shows 1066mhz. Has anybody else noticed this?
