Same here, changed sometime between Sunday midnight and by early Monday morning ~7AM EST it was in boxing. Hoping it ships tomorrow or Thursday the latest so I can get it in Friday via NBD.

Alright, what's happening to all of the posts?
-
@ ceowulf
did you ever get teh chance to reorder and seee if that comes soonerlol
-
please keep cancelling folks = moves mine up to the front of the line
-
@dark lol Nah, unless I can find $150 worth of coupons that stack with EPP again.
-
-
Hello Folks, I have been following this thread since I ordered my M11x on 2/2/10.
Mine just went to shipped this afternoon 2/23/10 with a delivery date of tommorrow.
I was about to call, and if I didnt get a good enough answer, cancel...but when I logged in to check the status one final time, it was changed to shipped. -
@jesusdima - Nope.. Still in build h3ll.
-
yea.. the coupons were too good.. :/ .. boo.. i hope were not delayed..
-
A lot of you people need to CHILL OUT.
If your EDD hasn't passed yet (and NOBODY'S has, since the earliest was 3/1/10) then you have nothing to complain about.
I work in a call center and impatient people like you drive us nuts, and you're damn right we want to get you off the phone.
I understand that you're all excited, I am too... but quit harrassing the people at Dell. -
@Zlog, yes I agree with you for the whole part I think we do need to chill out - we are just adding fuel to fire. The problem is , at least for myself, is that people who had ordered weeks after me (I ordered on 2/3) are receiving there M11x before me - and it just doesnt seem fair. The whole idea of preordering is to get it first - not to be one of the last.
-
@Zlog
I understand your position but please get off your horse. Most who are frustrated here have a reason to. I ordered on 2/2 and still in the build stage, while others who've ordered 2/10 already have them shipped. It does not matter what the EDD is when Dell's policy is first come, first serve.
I understand your frustrations with your work but you signed up for it so stop complaining. Most here have full time work and have their own set of frustrations.
@jesusdima
This doens't seem to be the issue since some here have exact config of others, without gobi, and still recieved them first. I do want to see if anyone has gotten theirs who have ordered Gobi, though. Anyone? -
-
Yea. We have a reason to complain. We have a reason to assemble. We have a reason to rise.. against the tyranny .. the blaspheme they call.. FIRST COME.. first SERVE RAWR :rage:
-
word up a33a33in.
-
-
@blarrgh, a55a55in and maverick = Nicely put.
@darka = Wasn't iago from Aladdin? And is yours still in build hell/purgatory? -
and yes I am. it hasn't changed for 2 weeks 4 days :|
I ordered on 2/3 and went in production after 2 days. -
I ordered mine on 2/5 - still in build. Contacted Dell (India call center of course) which was a fruitless exercise in frustration. I purchased my system through the standard site and don't have a dedicated rep so I guess it is just a waiting game.
-
Mine was on the Fedex truck to be delivered today, so naturally I took the day off to be here and sign for it. It is now 7pm and I called Fedex support to see whats going on. They say that the driver attempted a delivery today at 4. Lol I called BS on that one. Been sitting in the living room all damned day. After an ear raping, I am getting my shipping refunded and just picking it up at the station tomorrow. What a let down of a day
-
damn Pimsley that blows!! I would be very upset.. I hope I don't have to wait around, either have my GF sign for it, or sit in the living room all day and play ME2 on 360, depending on what day they may come =)
-
@pims = Daymn mate, thats a huuuge let down. Look on the bright side, at least your's is just a drive away. When did you order yours?
-
ordered 2/23 edd 2/25
ebay...
brand new never opened
black
core 2 duo
250gb
4gb ram
$1080 free shipping -
Well i ordered mine on 2/4 was in build purgatory for 16 days but i just checked and it has shipped. Hopefully dark and the others systems follow suit.
-
The calls to dell would stop if they provided accurate information to their customers. So many different stories.
It does make sense that those who ordered later are getting sooner....I am sure that new orders are being routed to factories with parts and the ability to produce.
What should have happened is that orders should have been redistributed to plants than can produce instead of being placed in purgatory. -
Zlog has given me a strong desire to harass Dell
If Mini-Me is STILL in "boxing" tomorrow, I will call them and be extra mean! I have not been mean yet and have been very respectful (you will get nowhere being irate with them and it is rude), but Zlog has brought the animal out- owoooooooo!
I am going to put Body Count's first album on, get pumped up- call and then BAAAAMM!That will teach em'! Not really. Perhaps playing, Bulls on Parade from RATM will inspire me?....
When do we start the, "Why won't Dell release a voltage fix for the overclock to 1.73ghz" thread? -
I'm glad though that people are getting out of build purgatory.. Dx.. I still don't understand their first come first serve shinanigans -__-; mine should have shipped awhile ago
-
No updates on my end. Still in build purgatory. So sad.
-
It just really ticks me off how badly they screwed up the order que , def not something that should be happening in the hands of one of the nation's largest computer retailers. -
Seriously, first come first serve isn't promised anywhere that I remember seeing... circumstances could have prevented your build from starting before some one elses. Whatever the cause is, they gave you a EDD and you have no reason to be upset unless it goes beyond that.
-
.. is your name younis @__@; ?? because if it is.. I want to lodge a complaint about how the Dell production line should be in a first come first serve basis as the reason:
Dell running out of stock of parts for a system I asked on 2/3.. while they processed an order that was oh i Don't know 2/10 in the same factory, before mine.. and that order was able to ship while mine waits because a part is currently out of stock--a part that was given to the 2/10 date-- I don't know. In my opinion it seems flawed in the eyes of the consumer. If all companies did what is being done then Deadlines should always be far away with no sense of first come first done basis. -
-
Rofl. You can call and whinge. They might refund it for you.
-
@zlog
you completely missed the point and substituted your rebuttal with "whatever the case". Good job. This is an order status thread for a reason, we are all figuring out our order statuses! Duh! If you hate following order statuses and, obviously, complaints that come along with it, just stop.
Back on topic, I really highly doubt the Gobi is the issue for the order delays. The reason being is that I ordered just a few hours after ordering was available so gosh darn if they only have a few gobi's laying around.
I've called a few reps and they all said there is no delay with my order and no backorders on parts. so my theory is that we all just got on a bad production line, the select of us who ordered on 2/2 and 2/3. Just starting the production, I guess some lines were not ready. This has been very disappointing and I hope my overdue unit will be error free.
Remind me to wait a few days before I order anything new released from Dell again. -
@The_A33a33in
It has nothing to do with me hating the thread. I like seeing the status updates as it gives me an idea of if I can hope to receive my system early. Early being the key word here.
What bothers me is all the people threatening to call in and complain and cry about their orders not being sent out early. Legitimate points are brought up about parts allegedly being on backorder now, but whether or not they are or were, it doesn't matter until you reach your EDD without receiving your laptop. The only thing Dell told you was "on or before 3/xx". You say your unit is overdue, but it is not overdue until the day after whatever your EDD is. When you ordered, you agreed to that EDD being satisfactory. Unless you work at Dell, and understand their order process from start to finish and can tell me for sure that your order was actually submitted to manufacturing first, then you can't expect your order to be finished first. For all we know, your order sat in processing or approval, or in somebody's inbox for a couple days. It could depend on the actual call center that you ordered through... who knows? That does definitely suck if thats the case, but as long as you get it before the EDD then Dell is fulfilling the agreement.
All I've said to that point, is that if it gets to you before the EDD then you have nothing to complain about. If it goes beyond the EDD, by all means raise hell. I would, and I did when it came to my 1645 and the big delays that laptop had with the bad wifi card.
Calling in on 2/23 to complain about a laptop that isn't supposed to arrive on your doorstep according to Dell's EDD until 3/xx is just obnoxious and it is making people with legitimate reasons for calling have to wait on hold, something that I'm sure you can agree is frustrating.
Just sit back and relax. I don't even have a computer right now that works well, most of my posts are made from work. Both my wife and I sent our faulty XPS systems back and we're sharing an old Shuttle that crashes every 5-10 minutes. I write all my long-winded forum posts in word because it could BSOD at any minute (bad RAM, no spare DDR1). We can't game or do anything on it hardly, but I'm not taking out my anxiousness on Dell. It'll get to me by the EDD, and if it doesn't I'll call in to see whats up and work some discounts -
Zlog, you sound like someone that could burst any minute now. Releasing your anger will do good for you
. No one here (at least no one I recall or know) have said our unit is overdue. We just find it ridiculous there's no first come first serve basis and makes our EDD feel incompetent. Sure we get your point to not bash Dell on the phone but we are consumers. WE are the priority of a company that sells.
They need to learn how to satisfy us even if WE appear as "rude" considering it is US throwing $$$ to their arms. It's business. -
lol I'm hardly about to burst. I'm not sure why my post would come off that way, I feel I'm making a valid point.
Some of the people on this thread though setting deadlines for receiving their laptop which fall before the EDD though on the other hand could use your advice I think
Your point is completely valid, I certainly hope that they DO follow a first come first serve. I have a pretty strong feeling though that the assembley line IS first come first serve, and they just build them as they get them. Somewhere in the process, despite some people ordering early, their order could have been delayed in getting sent to build. Maybe billing reasons, authorizing payments, who knows?
With all the people calling in and getting priorities put on their system (like the lady supposedly did to mine when I paid to upgrade to overnight) maybe that is some explanation to it. Perhaps the ones shipping out first were rushed for whatever reason. We'll honestly never know the answer, but you can't get mad at Dell for not getting your laptop before it was promised even if some one else did. The situations could be different some where in the process but we'll probably never know the real reason. I'm sure the reps don't know either. -
Well I've got 8 days until my M11x is supposed to arrive. Hopefully it gets through the build stage in about four so that leaves two or three for boxing.
-
For what it's worth Ceolwulf the orders that people have gotten went through boxing in what seemed like a nanosecond
Haven't most orders gone right into shipping, or if they were found in boxing, they shipped the very next day?
-
I'm with ceowulf... mine is supposedly going to ship by the 3rd.. and arrive before or on the 8th. :| .. For some dark reason.. I have feeling that it's not gonna happen
-
Zlog that just means I'll have to wait longer for an update
It'll be in build for 6 days and boxing for one. ;_;
And yeah dark, I've got the feeling that it'll still be in build on 3/3... -
UGh.. please not.. please not.. I need this before I move @__@...
-
Sigh, waiting on my 2/3 M11x is frustrating and i have a bad feeling that i am not going to recieve it on my ETA date!!
-
im with Zlog. dell has thousands upon thousands of orders to fulfill and they cant micromanage every single person. Life isn't fair, and in my strong opinion calling a poor rep who has to drag his butt to work in a crappy job to feed his kids, because your envious of someone who recieved their system before you is... is..... immature. please folks lets grow up, EDD is the official date
Note: this is only to those who are being rude to reps and complaining and requesting expedites, if your just calling to see whats up and being polite my post is in no way directed towards you -
Did either of you guys use Dell preferred accounts? One thing I'm pretty sure of from the XPS 1645 fiasco is that build just means that the order is sent to the manufacturing site (assembly line), but I think they must wait for payment confirmation. I had my 1645 in build stage for 3 weeks before Dell Financial thought it would be a good idea to call me and let me know that my credit line with them needed to be re-authorized... if anyone in build purgatory used DPA I would suggest calling Dell Financial and confirming that your payment went through ok.
Sorry if I make anyone nervous. It mostly goes 180 against what I've been saying, but its something that just came to mind (and something I checked on a day or two after i ordered mine).
EDIT: Agreeing with abusedbunny, I haven't been directing my post to people who are calling and being friendly and polite to Dell reps, if anything I encourage it. Like I mentioned I work in a call center in tech support, and its often a brutal job.
SPOILER/PRO-TIP: The nice and polite people get nice things from call center reps. They're going to be far more inclined to help you if you're polite. Chat with them a bit. Ask them how their day has been. You'd be surprised how surprised they might sound when you ask. Break them out of their routine/script that they have to read to you and you'll probably get the answers and help you want. -
I did not use DPA.. it shouldn't be any financial ordeal considering they took the money and already put it back.. in my bank account.. so i'm just waiting for it to ship so they can really deduct it
-
They took the money and put it back? thats strange... is that normal? I thought that they would put a hold on the funds or auth the card, but the whole amount? I've always just used DPA and then paid it off right away for the extra 3% lol
-
yea supposedly dell does that to validate something or something.. then when it officially ships that they take the money
-
Yeah, Dell just does a authorization check for the full amount and then have it put entirely back until the computer ships.
-
>.< So I refreshed my order status to find that the system couldn't locate my order anymore..... I called up and apparently my order number changed. She couldn't say why, but gave me the new order number. She said, I think, that I might have to wait a few days for it to update, but I've just checked it in the online system and the whole order appears to have been restarted.............!
It's back in 'taking order'/'prep phase' with today's date on it. I've asked her to look into why, but seriously... this is ridiculous. I expected, at worst, that the EDD date would drop back a little. :sigh: Have to wait until tomorrow to even try and make any further progress as their support closes right now. Will also hope I understood her and that she's right about it needing time to update...
Oh and they've had my money for at least a week now... which makes me feel super comfortable about this.
