*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

Holy Sh*t, I just got moved to the boxing stage. Yessssssss, I am out of build purgatory. Ordered 2/3 was in build for like 18days.

 

2/3 eh? Maybe there's still hope for tomorrow morning.. I shall be patient. and grats!

Yeah I was so discouraged since I have been calling for like the past 15days and it always kept saying in the build stage but today it finally said boxing.

 

It took 19 days for my order to get shipped and, according to the fedex tracker, another 2 days for it to arrive (which will be today ).

So a total of 21 days for it to be in my hands.

Well, I had a callback from the Dell woman to say that it's related to parts. I asked whether this would affect my delivery date, and apparently yes, it will. So it's gone from expected delivery on 27th, to the 3rd... and now one giant question mark. Basically a complete reboot of the order.... and if it takes the same time as the last one was going to I'm not likely to see it until late March. I 'd hope for some faster turnaround but I'm just not that optimistic.

Really, just how much hassle should ordering a computer be?

 

Ordering on 2/2 was a big mistake. Next time i will wait one day to get my order a week ahead of time...

 

you should wait more.. cuz there are also 2/3 shippin orders getting owned.

 

We should wait a week, since that seems to be how long Dell takes to figure out, it got a crap manufacturing contractor and then changes to a more pricey, but usable contractor.

 

I'm gonna go insane waiting for my M11x to ship and waiting for Apple to release the new macbook pros.

 

lol Sero, I keep checking for Apple's update too. The new MBP was the main competitor to an m11x for me. Even if not pricewise.

 

@sero and nephand = Same here. Except that the m11x came out first and its more fun to yank out an AW in class compared to an apple.

 

Placed my order yesterday afternoon ... EDD 10.03.2010 ... it was within 12 hours in phase 3, Pre Production ...

don't get too excited, phase 3 is the long wait phase

interestingly I ordered on Sunday and my EDD is the same (based in UK).

Anyone else from the UK order in the last couple of weeks?

EDD is like sometime in the first week of March for all of us. Dell still has over a week to ship units out.

Stop complaining.

I think we all forgot that we had a couple extra coupons we could use when we ordered by the 3rd.

People how ordered afterwards didn't. And I called Dell again, they are awaiting the Gobi card for mine. Etching is already complete.

And yes, I am stick in build stage purgatory too. It's just getting really old with how many people are getting upset and calling Dell angrily. They can do whatever they want. I'm sure they want you to get your computers as much as you want it - they don't get money, and I'm sure there are people canceling orders already.

So... chill. Wait till your EDD, and then call and complain. None of us have any right to complain yet.

Boxing phase is ALMOST getting old hehe, hope it moves soon to shipping, I would like it before the weekend =) My rep called me last night to say it moved out of production and should be shipping in 2-3 days, so we'll see. It wasn't really news though since I knew it was in boxing already. I guess I can't complain, but I'm nervous I'll be stuck in boxing stage like I was in build stage.

 

Lol @ strangeness MAXXED. Dell Order Status page still gives me "Customs Cleared" but phone tells me that its with the delivery partner... EDD 3/3 tho.

 

yah that makes sense customs clearance is part of the delivery process, I expect its close to be delivered.

 

Well its a public holiday on Friday here so... 3/3 seems reasonable enough.

 

They took the money out of my account when I ordered the M11x - this was just an authorization - they they let the authorization expire. The day it shipped the sale was re-authorized and taken from the account.

 

Just wondering, for Canadian orders, my order shipped last night....where do I obtain a tracking number? Do I call Dell( again! )?

@Hack = Nope, the way that Dell has managed order allocations and material planning for this launch has been a clusterflook. To make a long story short, two facilities are putting the final stages of this product together- one was ready, one was not. The EDD is a near arbitrary place holder date. I worked with them so know this. The only thing that counts is the actual status and people that ordered two weeks after others are getting their orders. That is simply due to if your order went to the one that is ready or not.

The people's have the right to communicate concern. If people are rude, that is bad though- does not help anyone- ESPECIALLY getting the order any earlier

 

Please do not be so sure, since IF the order went to the more stable, ready for production facility, with no 5,000 plus backorders, Myth could get the order before people in build / boxing purgatory since early Feb- seriously.

Those who ordered 2/3 don't get discouraged, as I said earlier after being stuck for 20days in the build stage last night my order moved to boxing. So there is some progress being made.

 

A bit off topic, but I placed an Adamo Admire order at the same time as the m11x. It went into purgatory just like my m11x, and the EDD just got broken. I wonder what is up with Dell? These aren't freaking Insperions (no offense to Insperion owners), Dell themselves describes Alienware as a "boutique" line and Adamo as a "luxury" line. Shouldn't that include the level of service you get?

 

supply chain management used to be Dell's strong point in the hayday, now its just like everyone else -> pants.

 

Owh well. I'll just see what happens tomorrow.

I think you are right. More and more people that have been stuck in the build stage are shipping so hopefully I might get an update today.

 

Mine still says in production. I ordered on 2/12 my EDD is still March 18th .

 

received mine this morning. ran it on overclocked outta the box and man it's much smaller than what i thought! the first thing i did is configure the AlienFX, uninstall McAfee and added more partitions. next up, games and benchmarks!

 

Hmm. I ordered (in the US) 2/11 and my EDD is 3/12 (overnight shipping).

 

Phone status update! "Shipped: in transit to the carrier" although it said shipped Feb. 3, 2010 lol false.

But yeah, said tracking# will be provided once it reaches the carrier office or something like that? Anyway, hope that means it's here in the states and being ready to be shipped via FedEx. Is that right? or it shipped from China awaiting stateside landing? Please NBD shipping don't fail me now!

How long did it take from phone status "in transit to carrier" to receive actual tracking information? I know I check the phone status all the time, so I know the status JUST changed in the past two hours, but an estimate anyway for tracking info? Website shows in production still, but when I click on the Dell Purchase ID, shows shipped which I've seen is the norm though.

 

my tracking says it will be here tomorrow before 4pm!
slightly off topic but does anyone here live near the Omaha area and is going to NETWAR this weekend?

 

still build purgatory for me...wonder if it's because of that stupid gobi wwan that i ordered, thinking i can use my iphone sim from that false advertising ces video that was up...

May I ask you this? Why is this thread so popular? It's because things can go wrong with an order and people here are troubleshooting their order statuses. This thread is to see who has gotten theirs and who hasn't and why that is so. Why do you think there is such a thing as customer service in all businesses? It's to satisfy the customers. We put out our hard earned money and we expect satisfaction. One thousand dollars is not easy to come by. This is not candy at a candy store; when an investment like this is being held up while others who've ordered after us have gotten theirs, there is going to be a raise for alarm. Don't bs us with your nonsense about growing up.

I have not been angry or forceful at dell's customer care; actually I've called a total of 3 times since my phone order. Simply, I just want to know why my order from 2/2 is still in the build stage while others have received theirs and I havn't gotten an answer.

That's why this thread exists; it's to provide answers to order statuses.

backorder is not an issue, I was one of the first to order. Financials was cleared. Since my last phone call 2 days ago, no hold up on my build at all. All systems go. I hope you get my point.

 

Mine just shipped. Will be getting it Friday from Fedex. Debating taking the day off work. I ordered this on the 14th using a credit card. I got it with the SU7300, 4GB ram, Bluetooth, and a160GB drive. It should have a custom plate if that didn't get messed up on my order.

 

Guess I should have paid with a credit card and not DPA since I ordered on 2/3 and mine just now hit the boxing stage. But getting an extra 40$ off using DPA was pretty nice.

 

Another day in Build Purgatory....sigh. Ordered: 2/4 ESD: 3/4 Well at least this week I'm hoping to see some kind of update, considering next week is when it should arrive.

 

Still in purgatory too. We shouldn't have to wonder if we should have dropped the Gobi. If customer service did their job, they'd tell you, "hold up is the Gobi, do you want to drop it?" Or custom nameplate, or whatever the issue is.

Anyone with a 2/3 order date still in purgatory with me? Or am I the last one?

 

I have 2/3 and just got out of build purgatory and into the boxing purgatory last night. There are plenty more from 2/3 in the build purgatory still. We are the ones who got stuck in the Grandma production line most likely.

 

I am still in build purgatory and I DID NOT order the Gobi. Ughhh...

 

@ Azn - -Congrats! Great to hear. We both went into boxing last Sunday night so I have my fingers crossed. Just called and still in boxing but your post just gave me some hope of getting mine for this weekend

Update: 13:00 PST Just called and it's Shipped! Same confirmation on web order page. No Tracking yet but EDD now 2/25. Woohoo! I'm psyched. So boxing took about 2.5 days

 

I am still in build purgatory and ordered on 2/3. I can guarantee you won't be the last Blaaargh....knowing my luck that will probably be me.

 

Looks like a lot of us are going to get regularly scheduled updates, unlike those others who got early ships ; ;

I'm still waiting on any updates. Ordered 2/2 and still in production stage. Called my rep 2 days ago and he said nothing was holding it up. But after seeing so many orders go out that were after my order, I'm very disappointed. No WWLAN card, no SSD Drive, nothing special at all, but no update so far

 

sweeet, got tracking information after calling the status info again. Punched it into FedEx's tracking system and it is estimated for delivery tomorrow, perfect. My day off. I think I'll be waiting for it in the living room and play ME2 til it arrives. Whew finally another 2/3 order seems to be making its way to a home.

 

mine was supposed to be delivered today, brought my discs to work to install some games, Modern Warfare 2 and click on the fed-ex site, and it was pushed till tomorrow, uggh..i hate fed-ex, its the worst carrier out there. It has taken 5 days to get form Chicago to oklahoma.
