    One rep did say that there was a shortage of Windows 7 Home. No joke. It was either at the beginning of this thread or the end of part two.

    someone clue me in on details? If its about delays, all I know is part shortage with an EDD of 2-27

    I have a part number and will have to look it up, currently I am in an airport so it will be tomorrow before I find it.

    And no I have not heard any talk of defects.

    Thanks for looking finding something out for us. It's been a bit disappointing when I can't figure out what's causing the delay. Dell told me everything is fine but it's hard to believe I've been waiting 24 days and still in the build stage when another customer had their's shipped in 9 days due to customization.

    Also, can you give us your impressions of the M11x after a few days with your baby?? Have you noticed any fan noise few others have mentioned?

    No Fan noise on my unit. Even playing a game for a few hours its very low.

    I know its frustrating to wait, however sometimes this happens, your original EDD should still be accurate?

    I ordered on Feb.2, i've called a few times and have been told that i might receive my m11x anywhere from mid march to early april :( i live in Toronto.

    Any idea why such a long delay for me? All they tell me is "backlog" or "parts shortage" no other details, yet many people who ordered later have received theirs. Wish i could get some actual info.

    if it goes past our ESD then we can definitely call and give them a hard time and have them compensate yeah? though im already getting a free case and $25 dell bucks

    In my case, yes. It's still in the build stage but supposed to ship next tuesday. Some other folks had their EDD moved back, though. I hope mine is not the case. Some have reported back orders on the CPU, chassis, battery. It's odd how the first to order are affected by these (reported) back orders. I'm thinking it's probably bad production lines that's causing the delay on the select of us.

    good to hear the fan noise isn't an issue with you. Some reported OC problems too. Any issues with your OC? like fan constantly on or BSOD?

    I asked again Monday and was told that the EDD dates should be very accurate? That's if the parts arrive on time?

    I bet they're assuming everyone who ordered around those dates used the stackable coupons -_-;

    To be honest I believe all those orders went to the worst factory..

    I just think production lines weren't ready to start up 2/2-2/3 so there were a lot of issues and problems.

    Same as you, Teflon, I paid full whack. I hope i'm not in the same boat as you, here in BC. Customer Service my end wont tell me anything at all. They just keep repeating "in production" at me down the phone, & "can I help you with anything else"? i'm like, "anything else? You haven't helped me with my first question damn it"!!!!!!!

    Tried that, they just say my EDD is still on track, which is fair enough, but if it's one day later than my EDD then there will be some strong phone calls

    I hope you guys aren't planning on yelling at your sales rep... they can't do a thing.

    The rep you would want to yell at if your EDD is changed or not honored is the one you speak to after using the phone status. it gives you an option to speak with a rep and it will put you directly to escalations.

    Keep poking at the fact that there are other people who ordered a week or more after you did and they got theirs already be unsatisfied and disapointed in Dell. Why is your order taking much longer etc. Just take your time until they get tired and give you a offer for a bag or something.

    Just gotta know how to talk to them. Try to keep on point. Don't let them say otherwise. And if they won't do anything for you. Hang up and call in for a different rep. Just gotta find the right rep that'll do something. I've been calling for days and finally today got a rep that finally understands my point and compensated my troubles with the free alienware case and $25

    Well I just wanted to let everyone know if for anything..

    ceowulf's rep just said m11x orders are being shipped.
    and Sero's rep said his would be shipped before the end of this week.

    I see this as a good sign! I don't want to get everyone's hopes up but I don't want you guys to sulk and start a revolutionary war against Dell and their reps :x

    I hope everyone who was in build purgatory will come out of build and be shipped automatically..

    To be honest the only bad thing I see comign about that is editing my thread in the side topics forum cuz changing those would be a mess T__T

    My rep called me today to tell me that he did not know why my order is delayed and also that he is just as surprised that people who ordered later are receiving theirs already.

    He said they are being built as they are ordered. If that were true wouldn't i have mine already?

    He was unsure as to whether it will even come on the EDD of 3/3 or anytime before.

    I ordered on 2/12 and my ETA is 3/18. Its ok by me if I have to wait that long as long as all the little bugs are worked out of the system by then :D .

    Im in Australia, And it has been a week with no EDD at all .. they are saying its a part shortage and cant tell me when i would likely be receiving any update ?

    Plus apparently they cant do discounts on this product no EPP or anything and i know its not huge amount of money AUD $1599 but with no update its so annoying any ideas what parts are delayed ? or how i can get some type of discount ?

    @mounja I got a AU$130 discount because Dad's company just bought a bunch of servers from Dell, but that's the most my salesrep is authorised to apply (and he's a senior internal account manager!)

    The hilarity is that it's $1337 before GST!

    @neg2led LOL that's awesome 1337. Well I work for a company which i would rather not to name that does a lot of business with dell and compliments their systems. But doesn't matter just frustrating that they wont allow this to be a factor in the matter. if some way i could say here is someone who has a discount do it lol
