*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

I regret to update that I have cancelled my order. After ordering on 2/2 and waiting a month while others have gotten theirs, CS told me my order has been pushed back a week. Yes, a week is not long to wait but I don't want to play any more games with Dell.

Plus, since ordering, I've realized I opt for options I might not use: Virtualization on 7300 and Gobi. Also I ordered when Bluetooth was not on the order page so I was going to need to occupy one external slot with a dongle. Too many issues, possible delays, one of the first to order but still having delays, blah blah blah. too many issues.

I'm going to wait a couple weeks to see if the soft touch shell hits the shelves, per what Darkhan mentioned earlier, and see if possibly any competition has caught up to the gorgeous M11x, maybe a mpb refresh?

Have fun with the lappys everyone - maybe I'll join yall in the fun in a few weeks.

I'm surprised this thread isn't full of people canceling. But I suppose there isn't much of an alternative to this laptop yet.

 

I just got a sup call apologizing for the delays and thanking me. I asked him why some people who ordered after me (and long after others) already had received their systems and he wanted order numbers. So if any of you want to PM me your order number that ordered AFTER 2/12/10 I might have a sup who can figure out some answers for us.

Also, he thought I had ordered red and blue paint colors....I corrected him on that... so maybe he is just another idiot. He told me Black had a high demand. I told him I had odered one in black and one in silver. Then he told me the delays were because the systems were being tested, but he never directly answered my question of "why don't I have my computer already when other people that ordered AFTER me do?"

He seems to have a reason for WHY my system is taking so long to ship out, but no reason or answer for why other people's went so quickly.

Maybe they arn't being "totally tested" as he put it.

 

Well I just called them, first thing they said is you can always cancel your order and buy it locally

I told him that its been a month and that it is unacceptable as well as that there is no way I'll get it by the EDD.

He said he's gonna expedite it and get me next day delivery, for free...

 

@A33a33in sorry to here that dude. I was days away from doing that myself, luckily it shipped, I just hope everything is working right. You could probably phone and order one now and get it before your original edd!

@zlog I think someone else did this with the order numbers and the rep just blamed it on being different configs. They just need ammo, thats why they ask for the numbers

 

Ordered 2/3 - EDD 3/4 now in the truck for delivery.
I really thought my order was going to get cancel because all the coupons.
Basic model for $660 shipped next day.Not bad!!

Maybe I'll order over the phone and get it by tomorrow (my original edd). haha. but yea, that was another thing: if my specific unit is taking forever to build, so something has to be wrong with it.

 

nice...congrats. from looking at the fedex tracking info...i dont think there's any way they'll meet my EDD of 3/4 if it's still in boxing and fedex hasn't even received it...booooo

 

my rep emailed me today, it was in boxing since saturday or sunday and EDD is 3/11 she told me it should ship out in 3 days. So hopefully by Friday i have NBD so maybe i'll have it by Saturday if not Monday. It would still be a week or couple days before my EDD..

I have a question. I ordered m11x. My billing address(cardholder address) and actual address(the place that they gonna deliever) are different. I ordered it on 2/26 and EDD is about 3/27 or something. Is there a problem with 2 different addresses? I didnt update my billing address yet since I just move in my actual address.

 

I had NBD shipping but it shipped ground. I should have had it by now but instead I'll be getting it at the end of the week.

 

anyone can help me here?

Did you guys get billed when you placed your order, or when it shipped? (As the dell support page says). Mine supposedly shipped today. The Fedex status says just that it has been initiated...but I have yet to be billed on my visa card. My EDD is 5 Mar, but Fedex says 4 Mar delivery date.

If they let you place the order and haven't contacted you in over a week... I'd say it's a safe guess that you're okay.

Call 'em up to be sure. The sales people will help you more than these order reps. After all, they want your money.

It's fine. I live in washington, but had my order sent to oregon to my friend so i wouldn't have to pay tax.

I did it once before with dell about 3-4 months ago, worked fine.

I'm Martin and I'm writing to you because mine was orederd on 3/2/10 and the EDD is on 8/3/10 and still in production... I asked and still in the build stage.. My mine problem is that im not from the U.S I bought the notebook and put the address from a friend who lives in miami... So I am not able to call to dell to talk with a rep or something like that.
PD: Im travelling to Japan on 14/3/10 and I need the notebook... So could somebody help me? please.

I have received my Orochi Its an awesome mouse but im just waiting for my M11X now

The price wasn't too bad I ordered this from the US and now they open an Australian online store on the US site it it $79 on the Aussie site its 179.. How does that work lol

I'm stuck in the same boat as you. Ordered on 2/3 and I called today to ask what was up with my order considering the EDD is 3/4/10 and they had no idea what was up with my order. All I can do is wait. Debating on ordering ssd and orochi while I wait.

 

actually the rep told me that bluetooth is not an option on the web and it doesn't get shipped by default, you need to add it to your order for another 20 dollars

 

Yep, found that earlier, slightly too late for me and very, very annoying. Getting my unit tomo sans bluetooth. Now I don't have an useable mouse for it. Dell will be getting a call from and an email. And they emailed me a nice questionnaire to fill out (rubs hands together)

 

Oh this is just marvellous - the thing that happened this time last week, where my order disappeared from the tracking system only to be replaced by a new order, has just happened again a few minutes ago. While I pray it's the 'sending out glitch', since last week's turn of events moved the EDD back from today to the 12th.... my optimism is failing.

Sorry, I realise there are people who ordered back at the beginning of Feb who are still waiting, so I have deep sympathy for you guys. Just getting tiresome now...

Ordered 2/2/10
Currently in build stage. ESD was 3/2/10, but now when I call it does not give me a ESD at all. EDD is March 8th, and I leave for 3 weeks March 10th. Keeping my fingers crossed.

 

Woo, I do so love half-understanding what's being said to me... the gist being it was exactly the same problem as last week, and from what I thought I could gather the EDD will move back to the 15th March.... we'll see. I did my best to do the 'polite dissatisfaction at this having happened once already' bit in Japanese to little avail beyond a string of vile honorific language which is utterly untrackable.... god knows what I'd agreed to by the end of the call.

All part of the 'fun' Order number: 3... they say third time's the charm :S

Yea I never knew when I was ordering my M11x that I was entering the shipping lottery

We ordered early, and I did not get to use any coupons, and still we got screwed.

 

I have a question about the weird and messed up pricing of the EPP or Student discounted Alienware M11x. For both it says I should be getting 10% off, which I am but it is taking 10% off a price that is not even the retail price of the exact same spec'd system at full retail price. My question is that if I call up Dell and order by phone, will I be able to get the 10% off the actual retail price and not some made up price on their website? Also I was wondering if you can get a non-maxed out Alienware m11x through EEP or student discount when ordering by phone.

 

Yeah i did ... My old server is merging and level cap is going to be 99 :O that crazy... yeah the mouse was is way too high on aus razer website.. so for me 79USD was a great price including shipping

 

Wish mine was bloody merging... could use some new faces.

update: mine just arrived to Fed Ex location Sacramento. so that means i get it tomorrow. dell was right on the money with the edd 3/3. Does anybody have the average time of day that packages get delivered? im guessing around noon.

 

It depends how many packages Fedex has to deliver and where you live on the route. If you've got packages from Fedex before it will be about the same time.

Woot my order was pushed back to 3/9! THis is pretty great! I don't mind getting mine later as long as people that ordered after me get theirs. Love it.

HOLY BEJEESUS I am one of the few and unfortunate who actually ordered this prized piece of INSANITY on 2/2 and it actually got pushed back from it's original EDD of 3/4 to 3/10! I'm even in email correspondence with some dell executive who has still not gotten back to me about my status since telling me they would look into it 3 days ago.

I have never seen such a failure of an online ordering system as this pile of shambles.

I would feel so much better if Dell at least would fess up to the fact that they screwed up with their order queue...

I mean we ordered literally on the first day or second day of availability and yet we get shafted...
