*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

mine is shipped and the purolator tracking number has now shown up. Dare i hope i get it for Friday but id say Monday or Tuesday. The wait is almost over!!

 

I wonder if we can file a joint BBB complaint. I don't want any sort compensation, but I feel like Dell really needs to put forth the effort into revamping their quality of service policies AND start enforcing them.

Regardless of how this system ends up, I wont ever be ordering a Dell again direct no matter what. I'm very unlikely to purchase a pre-built/retail system so that pretty much puts Dell out to the pasture in my book.

Here's to hoping that in a year or two when I buy a replacement for this system (assuming it lasts that long) Asus or some other company will have a ultra-portable gamer available.

 

I bet that you, Zlog, will get your system before many of us that ordered Feb 3rd.

I just spoke to my Dell business account manager. It seems all of these m11x's are coming from China. It was Chinese new year Feb the 14th which might explain why all the early Feb orders are being held up.

Probably not even Dells fault, from what she was telling me these things are shipping by the 1000's from china in ISO containers to the distribution centers and forwarded on from there. Could be that a lot of the early feb orders are stuck in an ISO container waiting to go.

Anyways, if you even consider that in the UK it take 2-3 weeks to order anything from China its not bad really? Although I don't like waiting for stuff, especially when they've extorted £1025 out of me.

Purchase date: 23-Feb, EDD: 10-Mar.

 

That sucks man. I ordered mine on Feb 17th and it now says shipped and I got a tracking # showing ship date as this Monday.

 

Call in and complain. Make sure you get a "resolution specialist" and not a sales rep. Say that this is really inconveniencing you because you need it for school or something and that you would like some sort of compensation.

Originally my rep said that my order was pushed back to a ship date of 3/9. I said that I didn't like this and that it put a bad taste in my mouth about Dell and then I asked her if there was some sort of compensation that she could give me for the trouble.

Two minutes after I sent that email, my order was marked "shipped" (just a coincidence) and I emailed her back to tell her to disregard my last email. She sent a reply saying how happy she was that it shipped and proceeded to offer me the choice of a $50 coupon, $50 credit to my order, or a $50 accessory as compensation for all the trouble. No joke. I asked her for the credit.

It never hurts to complain. Just keep calling until you get a rep that will be sympathetic to your ordeal.

Decided to go through the paper order receipt they sent me and compare part codes to see if they really had changed anything. It seems the part codes for both the screen, the 'system driver' and the 500GB hard drive have changed.

Whether this indicates shortage of parts, I don't know, but thought it was interesting enough to post up more info. Though it doesn't seem to be affecting many orders...there are very few in Japan that seem to have received their 11x yet.

 

That doesn't make much sense seeing how they're air freighted over. Air cargo is palletized. Steel containers have too high of a tare for air use.

 

Hey, i'm only saying what i've been told. Perhaps she said pallets rather than ISO containers I dunno....

I care as little for cargo as I do for carpet tiles, I just want it. I want it now.

Anyways, what does the status 'Scheduled' mean?

 

just got off phone with fed ex they r pretty useless my m11x isnt checked in at facility in NY yet but they say ill get it 2moro till its in my hands I dont count on anything glad to see people getting theirs after waiting so long good luck 2 all still waiting

 

by the way mine went from production straight 2 shipped

 

Still in build. Now I am getting seriously worried about them missing my EDD. FWIW, I have not received an email pushing it off yet - but it should at least be in boxing at this point since it needs to ship tomorrow to meet EDD.

Called up dell about how it said on the website that it was shipped on the 2nd and how my fedex tracking number doesn't work. I was told it should show up within 24 hours... said shipped 1st and tracking number appeared on the 2nd and still isn't working :-/ my updated edd has passed.

 

Oh yessss.... its been delivered sitting nicely with the doorman. Now all I have to do is get through about 6 more hours of work

The FedEx truck just pulled up!!!!

 

It was put on the FedEx truck for delivery at 7 am. Delivery due by 3 p.m. This waiting is killing me...

 

They got the wrong house, tell them they wanted a few thousand miles west.

 

I am beginning to think that the only folks at dell with power to expedite are the sales folks.

 

I would be very surprised if they just cancelled the order. Did you provoke the reaction or perhaps did your financing fall through?

 

No, you want compensation. A BBB report will have no effect.

Looks like a long wait till Monday or Tuesday for mine. Is it confirmed that it comes from Texas? Standard us to Canada is 4 buisness days would be cool on Friday tho haha.

 

I live in Houston, TX, and mine shipped on Tuesday from Georgia. Go figure.

How did you pull that off? Ordered mine on the 2nd and had an EDD of the 30th!!! I call in and they say I will get mine "on or before March 30th". I dunno what gives.

Hi Anejo, All sorted now... I spoke to the manager and she fixed it all what happened was another part changed and ... without telling me first the order was cancelled but it took 3 hours to get that out of them which got me worried because no one i spoke to could tell me why ... Kind of sorted now twice so far since it has been cancelled and order re-cut which means my EDD has been pushed out. In my eyes i have not provoked them ... This was Cash.. well Direct debit...

*EDIT* oh and guess what the manager said she would do for me seeing the reps have not been very professional towards me ??? any takers.... A USB KEY !!! lmao that is like rubbing salt in the wound.. and she said that Dell does not do any compensation ... obviously I am talking to the wrong person.

 

Lol I got compensated with a ~$30 m11x case and a ~$16 mousepad and ~$20displayport to hdmi adapter and a $25 promo code which is good for any item on the Dell site as long as it's 1 cent more than $25 lol.

I would file a BBB complaint. They cancelled and remade your order without consent, and they delayed your order without notification. I would file a BBB and ask for like $100 for your dispute compensation.

 

Unfortunitely I am. Ordered on Feb 5th and supposedly my EDD is March 8th.

 

Ordered through EPP on 3/2, EDD is 4/1. I wasn't expecting such a long wait but after reading through this thread it seems i'm not the only one. Booooo
