How do I access my PMs? Do I have to post a certain number of times?

 

Just received mine today, but the screen will not power on.

 

Folks, you all need to have thought about what concession to want so when the issue comes up you can be direct and persistent.

 

The BBB can't make Dell do anything.

 

Were I to order today, how long a wait should I expect?

The BBB doesn't MAKe dell do it, but the BBB complaint got me connected with a super-high up Dell escalations rep who gave me a $200 compensation on my S-XPS 1645 due to all the issues i had.

 

Ugh. Dell's support wasn't able to answer a thing I asked, and I just got a lot of "I don't know"s when I tried to find some sort of an answer as to what was up with the delays - which I'm not exactly surprised about. The best thing I could get was "well, it might ship far before the new EDD."

Sigh. I actually rather like Dell, too. I've had very good experiences with them in the past, but this is pretty darn annoying. I'd be cool with it if I could just find out what is causing the weird delay.

It's a good thing my old 14" Inspiron is holding together still, or I'd have some issues.

Meh. At least this whole mess has gotten me posting here, and this seems like a pretty spiffy forum.

Ordered 2/9/10 EDD 3/10

 

It seems that the order times are getting shorter in the configuration tool. They show March 22 if you order today and avoid a couple of components, and the longest I can get for an delivery day is March 26.

So that's kind of interesting. I'm assuming that means my order will come in sooner, but they are not likely to change a published/order/edd date.

EDIT: This was on the US site.

 

yea when i was going to make my order yesterday it was EDD 4/2 now today when i put it together it was 3/23. hopefully it will come sooner..

No word from my rep about a delay or anything.

 

Maybe the finally fixed the problems and got the factory running in turbo mode

 

That's a good sign I hope! That could means they have plenty of parts to get this system out!

 

And all those ppl that ordered before feb 14 it was the chinese new year if that hasnt been brought up, nothing going in or out then... wouldnt blame dell

i ordered 2/19 edd was 3/26 now shipped updated to 3/5 fed ex says 2moro but my brother ordered 3/4 still in production i feel ur pain im just hoping i get 2moro then hoping 2 have no problems good 2 all

 

by the way fed ex is terrible with tracking info hope every1 gets em soon

It looks to me from the dell site that now you can get the m11x in 14 business days so since I will be at 10 business days tomorrow I should receive mine next week instead of the march 22. I doubt it. I ordered Feb 19

 

hey kawser when did yours ship from? mine doesent say at all just says in transit via ground linehaul.

Just checked and mine is still in production. I ordered back on Feb 12th.

 

Ordered 2/9/10 still in build stage...ESD 3/9/10 EDD 3/10/10 should I worry if it's still in build on 3/8/10?

 

anyone order from dell.ca the last few days can let me know their EDD please?

Order date February 3, 2010.

I've been emailing Dell with responses saying that my order is in production and still "on schedule" for a delivery date of March 8th. The last email I received on March 3rd said "It should shipped out from the warehouse on 03/03/10" (yes those exact words). Well I finally got fed upand called and got a hold of a real person, and now they say my order will be delivered by March 16th.

I was given excuses of "processor and video card backordered". How is it that numerous people have ordered and have had delivered the same processor and video card after when I placed my order?

Dell's website is awful as is their order tracking system.

They've stated that "As a good will gesture and will try to upgrade the shipment to overnight delivery." Well I'm glad they're going to TRY to do it. That's ridiculous.

 

yea not good, but i see people talking that dell.com new builds have EDDs of 2 weeks later, just wanna get confirmation if dell.ca has that same EDD for new builds....if thats the case i will be calling dell about my EDD >_<

welll just confirmed a new build tonight on dell.com has a preliminary ship date of 03/23/10 HUH?

i hope someone can confirm that dell.ca is the same.....in any case i will be calling my sales rep

Would NBR frown if we started a thread of people signing a petition saying that we will refuse to order from Dell in the future unless they release a statement to us indicating that they are sorry and will try and improve their crappy service?

I for one am /signed on it already. The m11x is the last thing I'm ever going to buy from Dell/AW. The service and communication is just terrible.

 

Bleh. For mine they cited battery shortages.

People who ordered the same processor and battery got theirs before alot of us from 2/3, and they order 1-2 weeks after. And the Dell reps swear up and down that they are FIFO.

I still think it's the coupon stacking.

I ordered on the 27th of Feb. It is still in the "order received" stage with no updated delivery date.

However, I got onto a dell rep and they said it would be delivered on the 10th of March. Should I get my hopes up? =(

 

You guys are going to hate my shipping date.
Kinda wished it was on the 9th, so I can get the system at the same time as my Final Fantasy order from Amazon.

 

Ordered on 2/9/10 and my EDD is 3/10/10... same date as yours... im guessing my order is gonna be pushed back as well? if so my rep is gonna have one hell of a time when he calls me tomorrow.

 

How many times did it get pushed back? If it gets pushed back multiple times, call the rep and mention something about contacting BBB.

mine arrived literally 10 minutes before I had to leave to get on a plane. The laptop worked beautifully on the plane with the seat power playing.

Have noticed an issue with BT that I will raise in the troubleshooting thread.

 

hmm thats weird kawser mine has said none of that no edd just in transit via ground linehaul. dell.ca doesent give me an edd at all either. man purolator has horrible tracking.

 

That's very upsetting to see, but thank you for sharing the information. Our systems are almost identical (name plate missing). At least I have some ammo for when I call them right now.

Another disturbing thing is this, after I talked to the rep, he said he would email me immediately with contact information and ticket #. I responded 10 minutes after he sent it and now I get the "Out of Office" message saying he won't be back until the next day. I sent an email the next day, and guess what, another out of office message saying he won't be back until the next day. I wonder if they're all hiding behind out of office messages?

I'm calling now to see what's up and what lies they're going to tel me.

 

I had ordered mine on 2/5 with and EDD of 3/8 which was pushed back to 3/15 so I cancelled the order and reordered under the EPP - we'll see if that is better. At least the EPP rep was nicer.

The new system (now shadow vs. black) has an EDD of 3/29 and I saved a few hundred bucks.

 

I've been reading this thread and i'm just glad i'm not alone in all this heartache, I had a ridiculous problem with Dell customer service on an order, maybe i'll tell you about it some other time.

Currently, I got a M17x on order, ordered 3/1/2010 with an EDD of 4/22/2010.

They said the delivery date was so far out because my shipping address was an APO address. The wait will kill me but as long as I receive it BEFORE I leave this location, I don't really care.

Basically i'm just here to vent frustration and bash on Dell a little

PS- Am I the only one alone with trying to find these Alienware "Phases" that everyone keeps talking about on forums everywhere?

 

This is very pathetic. I had my order changed to NBD. For a week my order status read "Next Business Day [shipping] / EDD: 3/4/10." On the 3rd, my rep emails me that it has been shipped standard shipping, and I find out the shipping was never actually changed.

On Monday, I used my dell order number as a reference and checked to see if Fedex had any information yet. They did, and since **Monday** my Fedex status has been "Shipment information sent to FedEx." Even though my package has supposedly shipped standard.

Dell is a stockpile of imbeciles I'm thinking. They've been ridiculously messing up everyone's orders. Ceol got his with some hardware issues and now needs a tech to come out to fix it. So after all my shipping problems are over, I get to wonder what condition they "built" my unit after taking **20+ days** to do so.

 

I had the same thing happen with my shipping supposed to be NBD but they still shipped it ground. Mine currently has no problems and am happy with it. I tried to push them to compensate for the shipping but he wouldn't budge.
