*OFFICIAL* M11x Order Status Discussion Thread

Just ordered 03/09/2010 and today 03/10/10, it states "In Production"
Is this a good thing? From reading many posts, either I got lucky and my order is batched in with orders from way back or my status is just a "false hope".

 

It can go either way beo, my order went into production status immediately according to the web page... that was back on 10th Feb. Still waiting.

I wish there was e-mail support for Dell Japan, but no, you've got to call... written Japanese - fine... phone Japanese - evil.

 

My order went into production on the very same day I placed it, it's a good sign that yours already moved into production so early...I have to say that that Dell's order progress is totally messed up! I mean from "production" mine went straight to shipped, I just tracked it and it was already picked up this morning...

It can be in production for a long time. So there's no way of really knowing. Although it seems most of the newer orders are shipping in about 1-2 weeks after ordering. The March 10th date you keep hearing about is a bunch of us who had our orders shipped today. It seems Dell did a really big shipment with 3/10 as the day. Keep calling the automated order status line. Often, at least in my case, it was much more up-to-date than the online status. Also when it's shipped use the order number as a reference number in the FedEx tracking system. You will probably get your m11x before Dell updates your online order status.

 

Well I'm happy to be second place so far! Have you received your system yet? Getting mine tomorrow! : )

 

dang... this is a second Dell I ordered. The first one I ordered was over 4 years ago. i guess I will be patient and try not to let the Dells "teasing" process updates get to me. but I will update so myself and other members can keep this data to analyze how good and bad Delss updates are.

 

One more day to go. Hope it actually comes tomorrow lol. It's been 38 days since I ordered mine lol.

I checked today and suddenly it's shipped with an EDD of 3/11.

but suddenly they changed it to 2mmorow.. Even more exited!!!!!getting mine 20 days early. hope they dont send me some crappy defective piece.. i dont want to go through all tht nasty defects and those Dell people again..

Funny I was trying to figure out how to cancel the order yesterday.
From what I've seen here it seems to be 15 days on the adverage for delivery I'm at 14 days today..
Funny I have to be in KY tomorrow LOL!

 

NBD my rear! FedEx shows that it is scheduled for delivery today. But, FedEx has come and gone. So, called them up, wanted to know if it was a mistake on their part and if I could stop by and get it. They let me know that Dell has not sent the package to them yet. Hmmm...if they say "Sorry for the two delays let us bump you up to NBD for free." it's just a lie to make you feel better. Oh well, at least I has a tracking number

ahh after stalking this thread for about 1 month i decided to post. after being scared to death thinking that i would stay 'in production' i set myself up for the worst scenario. maybe it'll be there for 1 month maybe more but no, after a order date of 2/23 i will receive mine tomorrow at 3/11. about 15 days after ordering and just about 11 business days. i have midterms this week so i'm glad i'll get it when i finish them.

Hey, everyone i just ordered my M11x, this past Saturday, and i am just wondering if it is perhaps a mistake on their part, but my order changed to SHIPPED, today. I mean i just ordered it not even a week ago, or have they just really just picked up the speed of production?

I am defiantly not complaining, i just dont want to get my hopes up, and end up having it not be shipping which would suck, it says online, when you go to order status page SHIPPED, EDD 3/13 so, i suppose i will be getting it soon.

After 3 weeks its gone into Work in progress :O took 3 weeks to get to that stage ? WTH ? I hope this is not right as they still have to finish build ship from factory Arrive in Australia then get delivered Grrr...

 

Better call them. That might mean they just started working on your m11x lol.

 

Placed my order on 3/2, Today status has been changed to Shipped and I should get it 3/12. Originally my ship date was 3/31 !

 

The Dell site is random to say the least...mine was stuck at 'Work in Progress' status for 9 days prior to movement. Once it passes that, everything else should be quite fast (3 days transit + customs, 1 day to local delivery then next day delivery). I'm in Australia too by the way..

Also looks as though Dell are over-estimating their ETA dates to cover their bases as I received mine a week earlier than the ETA which was ridiculously long (4wks after payment).

 

Have your received your M11x ? If you have can you pm me your order number they have told me no one in Australia has received it yet.

I have had several conversations with them and they said they will expedite it asap and i have received an extra 1 yr warranty only because the reps were rude to me ..

 

hey mine shipped 8 days after ordering!! i'm so happy dell is the best! omg i love dell so much and the reps were so friendly and helpful and knew exactly what status my order was at and even sent me pics of my unit in production!

wth man... im in cali as well... i ordered a month ago(2/9/10) and it says shipped as of today but fedex hasnt even recieved the package so how the hell could i get it tomorrow for next day business?! ORIGINAL EDD was 3/10/10... Updated EDD is 3/12/10. but a rep told me i should get it tomorrow... man all this waiting has stressed me out... so stressed i might return it if its not perfect... they took a whole month to make the system so it better be.

 

Good lord there's a good chance of receiving mine tomorrow! It just left portland, or and is heading towards washington state!

 

Just got mine (I'm typing with it right now!!!) Its pretty cool, but the annoying thing is the reflective screen. I've used reflective screens before but damn, this screen is shiny. Also, this computer is lighter and smaller than I thought it wouold be. It's smaller than a 8.5 x 11 piece pf paper. And the keyboard is really quiet too.

So FedEx was finally given my shipments by Dell today... a full two days after Dell told me it was already shipped.

They also didn't ship it overnight, shipped it ground.... Fedex has it scheduled for delivery on Saturday 3/13 and the lady I spoke to at Fedex indicated I may get them sooner, or if they arrive in the depot I might be able to pick them up.

I'm just glad they are out of Dell's incapable hands. I am really worried that something will be wrong with one/both of them.....

Sure its audible if you are mashing your keys to no end, but in normal typing, I can hardly hear them, unless I'm looking for the specific sound. It's a huge diffrence from my old laptop.

 

Mine just did that too. I think the factory we're assigned to had some issues. We should get them late next week though, which is just fine by me

My dell rep has placed a BER (Build Escalation Request) for me - fire me your order number and i'll see if he can't do something for you

Neg, not to gloom over your hopes, but as freely as BERs are handed out, I think 75% or more of the M11x orders have those on them atm.... so I don't see it making much difference.

I had one on mine and it still took 30 days (and counting).

 

Difference is, I'm an enterprise order plus i've been promised that i'll get it on or before the 26th, since im going overseas the following monday - else i get some sort of recompense, possibly shipping it to the hotel im going to? Dunno.

Whatever will be will be, though. Just hope i get it in time.

@ Tears = Yes i was mashing it to no end. But the machine overall is very very quiet. I had a compaq behind me in the lecture hall and it was just hoovering away. Lol.

@neg = you lucky bloke. Enterprise gets perks we retail don't even dream of.

 

Don't be so sure... you're still stuck with the same cruddy, underpaid build teams.

My employer's EPP code connects us with Executive Sales, whatever that is. My employer has over 1,500 Dell Clients (not counting servers) in the building I work in, and theres many many other locations that are bigger then where I work... and call centers go through a lot of computers... lol

The order process has usually been really good... I pretty much tell them what I want and that I have coupons and they just do it without arguing.

After that though, we're all in the same purgatory. You'll likely get yours much quicker simply because the building process seems to be finally smoothing out.

 

@zlog = Whoops didn't think of that... But then again nobody really knows what goes on in Dell's manufacturing plants... Everyone's gonna get theirs soon. And BTW, nice to see someone putting a capital V on the nVidia instead of a capital N. Haven't seen that in ages.

 

Man... fedex's tracking service is almost as bad as usps' tracking service lol.

where does the system go to sf bay area from city of industry? i want to see if i can somehow pick up my system when it gets into the city.

 

You can't. It has to be delivered to the target address. I've tried to do this several times
