That is not true - I picked mine up at the depot. You just need to call FedEx as soon as you get your tracking info and tell them to hold it at location because you will not be home. then go in with picture Id that has the exact name and address it is shipped to and they will give it to you.

 

Mine's scheduled to be delivered today (Portland, OR) but as of 4:45 this morning it was still in Memphis.

It better be on a plane right now...

 

This morning I got a PLEASANT SURPRISE!!!!!!!
My status changed from Production to shipped with a tracking number
It is already on the FEDEX delivery truck

PS: My ODD was 2/27. I was planning to sending them an email to expedite the order but now its unnecessary.

 

I think I give up.

Anyway, I finally got an EDD... but it is 8th April... such a long wait... almost one month from now... and I place my order on 3rd March... I am contemplating canceling the order and go get a Sony Z115 instead... sigh... what to do what to do...

 

@gahoo - I am sorry for you. Did you try emailing them or talking to your Sales rep/Customer care to expedite your order?

 

It's been "expedited" 4 times according to Dell.

 

@gahoo - May be threatening them with cancelling the order might help. Did you already do that?

But you are 4 days away (which would feel like eternity. I completely understand if you feel like that) so I am not sure if its worth it.

 

After 4 weeks "in production" I doubt my current 15th EDD will hold. I think they want the early purchasers who got good deals to cancel tbh.

 

That make sense, if not, I can't understand what is happening to you and some others in the same situation.

I hope mine comes the EDD.

 

I can finaly leave this thread I have kinda unique post I ordered 1 m11x on 2/3 4 my brother ordered mine 2/21 got mine almost 3 weeks ahead of edd finaly got ori ginal 2/3 order last night the 1 ordered on 2/21 was here 3/5 support gave me every excuse they could color, part shortage,etc. So far been running ocd ,runs and built perfect,lets see how early unit is built.GOOD LUCK 2 all!

How long, roughly, is the computer in the "Work in Progress" stage?
I'm getting very impatient, partially because the idiot rep only sent my a quote when I wanted to order it. He only put the order through a few days later when we called.

All I have to say so far is OH MY GOD. This thing is amazing.

 

Mine was in there for roughly 4 days but it has been "In Production" for about 7 :/ (Im in the UK also) but mine has 4gb and has an EDD of the 4th of April :S

 

UK here to, mine was Work In Progress for about 4 days as well.

Been 'In Production' for 2 now, EDD of 13th March.

 

Great, so that means mine would've been In Production by now had the idiot Dell rep placed the order on the 6th, when I called, rather than the 9th when I called to say "What the hell, Dell. No order confirmation yet?"
Ah well...

 

Yeah, I emailed my rep the very next day when I hadn't received an order confirmation.

 

It's finally here!.

First impressions - this thing is awesome.

 

The rep said to us it might take a day or two for the payment to go through and to receive the next email.
So, my dad (Yes, he's the one who ordered it on his card. I'm 15 and Dell don't accept Visa Electron) waited until the 9th to do anything.

 

I can second the part about picking the order up at the depot, i was told by fedex this was possible.

 

My M11x is DELIVERED!!!!!!!!!!
I am at work so I will have to wait 3 more hours now. I could wait for 2 weeks but these 3 hours are going to kill me

My m11x is finally on a truck heading its way home. Can't wait to play with it.

 

Try refreshing the online order status page for over a month... I'm getting repetitive strain injury here.

In other news the prices for the M11x have almost doubled here in Japan since I ordered. There's now no smaller memory option than 8GB which no doubt doesn't help that fact but still... insane. I hope they make good on my order...

1st order: 02/24 - edd 3/29 --> cancelled
2nd order: 03/01 - edd 04/05 ---> shipped to canada today

212,250 yen works out to be around £1559! That's insane!
Mine cost £729, with the Core 2 Duo. Had I chosen the 8GB option, it would've been £1109, and it already comes with a bigger HDD, 320GB vs. 250GB.

Yeah, there's no way in hell I'd pay almost £1600 for one without an SSD drive as standard. Thankfully I got it a little cheaper than I would have in the UK, had I ordered the same spec there, but I'd have paid more to be getting the UK's level of service I guess. That and I'd have it by now. Swings and roundabouts ;S

Oh just about the free game download people mentioned, where do you find that? I get the feeling my order didn't include that. No biggy, I have Bioshock 2 already but was going to give the download to a friend.

 

My guess is that he must have paid the full retail price for it. If you want to get it quick, do not haggle the Dell for discounts: pay the full price!

 

Hope you are not right because I used a coupon of 50 € less...

Ah I don't think mine includes Bioshock 2, just Portal, which I have anyway. No biggy.

 

For me, just logging into steam on the machine popped up a steam message that my OEM copy of portal was now activated.

Sorry for going a little off track here, but are any of you guys using the beta ui?

 

I ordered mine on 3-2-2010, and got it delivered this morning. Unfortunately Fedex delivered it to the wrong address, and I had to spend 2 hours trying to track it down. Now that I have it, it is awesome.

 

My EDD was April 8th but its been shipped and I'm getting it delivered monday morning!! can't wait

Mine is still on the truck at the facility in my city. they said they dont unload the trucks until night time... so i told them to hold it so i can pick it up at 9am :] YEAH! and my newegg memory just came as well! Good bye order status thread! (ill poke and see whats up in here once in awhile)

 

ordered on 2/23/10 was on hold until 2/25/10 due to CC issues. Delivered on 3/11/10.

So happy right now.
