Yea I was wondering about that myself

When I ordered my M11x they took out the money held it for like 2 days and then put it back into my account.

So does anyone know if there not gonna take the money out of my bank until I have the laptop in my hands?

So, as i stated earlier, my original EDD was the 25th of this month. They recently pushed it up to the 16th (today), although it shipped the 15th (yesterday).
I figured this was bs, because i had the 7 day free EPP shipping.
Just checked the tracking number and it's in Chicago (an hour away) and is going to be delivered tomorrow! Hell yeah.
Dell did me good.
Ordered on the 4th, received on the 17th.
13 days. Nice!
*prays there's nothing wrong with the laptop*

 

I'm irked.

Ordered on the 26th, its built, but still not shipped from factory. Rep is looking into it. They sent me two "ITS READY TO SHIP FROM FACTORY" emails but they both say 24th for delivery which isnt for another week!

This is happening to me but its a M15x that I ordered last week. The order status page doesn't work for me around the afternoon today when I entered my order number and customer number it will say "The information you submitted does not match, please try again" just like your problem.

I ordered mine at 02 Feb 10. And I waited until now which is such a pain in the head. I ordered it from a dealer that helps in ordering dell stuffs so I cannot check the order status or whatever. So what do you all think that when will mine arrive?
I so want mine too!

 

From a dealer? I guess the first step would be to contact dealer and have them chase up the progression on your order. Hopefully these guys are legit and trustworthy.

 

I see, thanks ittekimasu. I did contact the dealer. What he said is there is some minor problem in dell that might cause some delays. I will be damned by that. I ordered it through phone call to the dealer that I known. He said he was meeting with dell guys that day and one of the dell guys give his words that it will arrived in two weeks. That sucks.

 

Sweet, checked with dell rep, he says that there's about a 48hr delay on the Australian ordering system sometimes, and that it shows up as shipped to Australia for him - epic win.

After using the super secret order status thing described in this thread, I've found that my order is in the boxing stage. Dell gave me next day air, so... if there's a delay in the status reports, I suppose it is possible that I might get it by my EDD of tomorrow. I find that unlikely, but hey, why write off a small chance?

Just wanna know when you ordered yours? and reading reviews and watching videos will only make you more impatient XF.<< because, I always did that after work. That drives me really impatient and almost go crazy! Mine is even worst that I don't even know the ETA. Anyway, hope we all get ours asap.

 

The email says March 10th, and yeah I kinda figured watching and reading will make it harder, but it's hard to try and block it out of thought while waiting too >.<

 

I'm trying to see the order status online, but I only have my order number. On the first and only email I've got so far the customer number isn't there. Will it come with another email soon?

I've gotten a few emails from them with the confirmation of my purchase, you check whether your email had an attatchment? There was a .pdf file attatchment with one that had both order number and reference number since it was a receipt of sorts with what I've ordered

 

The only one I have is the "Dell Order Acknowledgement" which arrived pretty much instantly after I ordered the M11x.

 

I'm starting to think that "EDD" means "Estimated Derision Date"

New EDD: March 26th. Again, ordered Feb. 2nd.

You know, I found a rather well-priced, nice looking Sony VAIO CW on Newegg... Pound heavier, but comparable/better power... I'd sort of hate to give up on a laptop that looks so nice, and is basically what I've been wanting for a long time now, but I'm starting to think I have no choice.

 

Mine arrived this morning, woo! Shame I'm at work till ten tonight, boo! Had chance to boot it up and have a quick look though, looks lovely and the keyboard is nice. I do appreciate them charging the battery before delivery so you can play with it straight away.

You should get another "Order Confirmation" later once they have confirm your payment (if you pay by credit card, once they have put a hold on the amount on your credit card), in the Order Confirmation, you should get an Estimate Delivery Date.

I called. I guess with Fedex Home Delivery you can't pick it up, and they have zero contact with their drivers until the end of the day... ?

Ordered on 8th March, finally went into Boxing stage. Yay...

 

Does Fed Ex give you an estimate of what time they come by? I'm afraid that after waiting impatiently that I'll miss em or something.

 

Yeah, at least last time I had something delivered by Fedex that I had to be at home and sign it they called me on that day in the morning and told me "It'll be delivered 12-2 or something". I'm not sure whether it's always like that. I'm sort of in luck since the next week is when I guess it could be delivered and it'll be spring break so I'll be at home studying.

I would look on the web and try to estimate what day they'll be delivering it and see if you can be at home. If not try calling Fedex with your order number, and ask if you can go and pick it up yourself in their warehouse and tell them not to give it out for the delivery. I did this once when I lived in NYC and it worked.

 

So mine is meant to be delivered in the next four days... Do WalshWestern deliver on the weekend?

I ordered March 9th (NYC) and when I called they advised that the "chassis" is on backorder which is causing my delay in the system.
It was some indian guy with a pretty strong accent, but kept telling me there is this back order and I need to wait and that is why it still states " in production".
When I asked him about other orders in "USA" and there orders are fine, he said maybe different chasis. "Different chasis"???
All M11x have same chasis, just different internal hardware components!
I hope these Dell reps are not giving me the runaround.

Congrats! I ordered March 8 during the day, still stuck at the original EDD and "boxing" stage.

 

I was in boxing for 2 days, hopefully it's short for you too.

 

They're giving you the run around. I got the same BS two days ago. I ordered mine on Feburary 3rd so don't feel bad.

I got an actual call today telling me that it's in boxing and might be delivered sometime in the next 3-5 days. My 3rd EDD is tomorrow, and the guy couldn't say if it was actually going to be delivered tomorrow even though I have NBD shipping.

At this point I doubt that I'll see it tomorrow, March 18th.

EDD revised from March 8th, March 16th, March 18th, now "sometime" before March 22nd.

 

You should be able to pick it up at the local hub where it came from this morning... I picked mine up last Friday. Figure out which office is yours and then go and ask for your package. I believe they close at 4pm so go go go!

A very nervous Dell rep just called me - really, they seemed downright frightened to talk to me; I feel a little bad about that - and after some excessive prodding, finally gave me the first straight answer I've ever gotten out of Dell since this entire thing started. "When did it enter the boxing stage?"

I had to ask more than once, but I got a very clear answer. "Two days ago", although they seemed to be flipping between 1, 2, and 3 at first, before they seemed to find something to confirm 2. I'm willing to believe it for now. She also said that it only takes 3 or 4 days at most before something gets shipped out, and stated that my package might have been delayed in France or something.

So, I figure if it ships by the end of the week, I'll still happily take it. Otherwise Newegg sent me a notification that my back-up-computer just became available for purchase again. I'd much prefer to get the lighter m11x, as it fits what I need for work (and life) much better, and is just about exactly what I need... But I need something soon, and I can't afford to wait much longer.

On the bright side, it seems like most people who have gotten theirs have been pretty pleased by it. So, as irritated as I am about this whole ordeal, I'm still looking forward to it. It is, after all, the laptop I've been hoping to see made for a few years now, basically.

 

Yay, now the website updated, before it said "data temp. unavailable" for the tracking info. Now it has a FedEx tracking number and the EDD is bumped up to the 19th!

Ordered the evening of the 8th, and delivered the 19th.
That's just 11 days total!

I feel bad for everyone that had the ridiculous delays from ordering early last month.
They must have have some terrible problems.

I ordered morning on March 9th, probably less than 12 hours than you and mine still has EDD of 03/31/2010 and I got a call the other day that the "chasis" is on backorder and should be here in a few days or so.
"If this is the case, then I assumed most, if not all, orders from all over should be utterly delayed, but I see people getting there's who ordered before me just like you. I then called this morning to check status and it states "boxing" stage, which I know is vague.
I am just a little frustrated to have such vague updates as well as DIFFERENT updates all the time.
Hard to wait hearing different things all the time.

 

When you guys got your initial delivery date, did it work it's way down?

 

Well my original EDD was 4/5 for my first order.
Canceled that to upgrade the RAM and my EDD for this new order was 4/2.
The guy that I talked to on the phone, who i swear he said his name was jimbo but he was definitely indian, has called me twice already updating me on the status of my order telling me it will probably arrive sooner.

Why is he calling me?
