Are you guy's nuts? I play wow on my ATOM/ION system at 1080p at lowest settings. As long as I avoid dalaran I can do quests and stuff just fine. the FPS is between 20-30fps at that setting with everythign literally minimal settings. The ATOM/Ion platform is garbage compared to this system.

This thing will have ZERO problems playing WoW. You guy's don't know what you're talking about.

Leave the processor at stock unless you want emulation, and 4 gigs ram. SSDs are kinda exp so leave that alone for now.

Agreed with the others, Pentium + 4gb RAM + 250gb 7200RPM HDD will give you best bang for your buck.

I only got the core 2 duo for virtualization. Actual performance difference between it and the pentium in the M11x is negligible.

Personally I want to know how well it runs Warhammer Online. (Yes some people still play it...)

It's one of the main reasons I ordered my M11X, so I can sit with the wife while she watches TV and I can game away while also having a conversation. Currently I get abused for hiding in the family room on the desktop pc...

LOL i like how the solution from playing games in a different room from your wife.. is to play games in the same room as your wife
    i approve!

and the last time i checked WoW is still pretty high end.. very hard to max out settings with even current desktop pcs.. so you're pushing your luck with WoW on low with the m11x ;)

I just want to double check on this guys,

Can I configure the m11x on the regular dell site, and then call an EPP customer service agent and get them to pull that config. from the cart? I want to do this so I can get the config. I want and not the stupid default one on the EPP site.

    Thanks!

WoW is high-end? You've gotta be joking man lol.

Most computers will be able to run this nearly maxed out. the only thing that chokes computers is if you try to set shadows to high, WoW's shadow engine is soooooo bad.

Due to the discounts you get from EPP, their base model has included upgrades, making it more expensive than normal order. Through the phone, you can configure what you want and still have the EPP discount. you didn't miss anything by ordering through the normal order, just cheaper base so you can config. how you want. = way to save money.

U.S. I called the epp and then configured a cart but they wouldn't budge on the hdd at all if they would i could've saved some money. everything else I wanted to leave the same.. They told me i could have that or the lowest spec for the same price I paid. ex. base processor and 2gb ram and 160gb hdd lol. silly dell reps trying to take me for a fool.

can someone confirm that they made the m11x on the normal dell site, and then called EPP, and got the config pulled..I don't want to get all of the money together and end up not being to afford it.

It's not final until you pull the trigger. Instead of waiting for someone who has personal experience with this situation, you should go ahead and configure and call EPP. If it doesn't work out tonight, try another night with another rep.

ya the thing is I'm selling my old Inspiron 1520 this Friday and will then have the money to buy this sexy beast, and not much more than the price is with the EPP discount, I just want to make sure I wont be screwed and have to wait to gather enough money to buy it without the discount,

    thanks for the replies!

If you are also interested in game emulation, PCSX2 need the SSE 4 instruction set or less chance to play games smooth.

Yes the card in the M11x is either the Intel 5100 or the 5300, both supporting 5.0 GHz.

What i actually did was go through with customizing on the phone whatever specs i wanted.
Then he told me the total, Then i told him i cant afford it.
Is there any way to make it cheaper...? they'll ask you for your budget.
So tell them you only have however much you think you can afford.
First time i told them i only had around 1100 but i wanted like 8gb memory and bluetooth and duo processor.
They couldnt do anything for me so i told them to call me back in a day or two when i can "get more money"
Then when they called back i told them i have a even less budget of ~$900
So then comes the talking and asking them
Why i cant downgrade the hard drive because "i dont need that much space" but i want the memory and processor and what not.
Then what happened for me is he said he'll call me back in about 30 minutes.
    45 minutes later i get a call from a lady :)
Here's the best part. she let me configure it however i wanted and she told me the pricing for it... ~1170 subtotal
I told her i couldnt afford it and i really need it for school and what not.
I have a budget of $950 max and then like magic she told me she'd give me the price of $950 subtotal.
Then i explained that Total with tax i could only afford $950 so she made subtotal about $890 and total come out to be alittle less than $950 shipped.
So i saved bout 24% if you want to talk to the same agent that i talked to call 1(800)289-3355 ex 7234757

Have fun talking to them. :D

No problem! I try to help as much as I can. It's the best way to pass the time. :D
Stick with 4GB. There's no reason to get 8GB at this point in time and you can use that money for a good SSD or some sweet accessories.
