@basehitter3 yeah i got epp discounts... well i didnt actually use any coupous. just talked to the rep and fed them a story and such. "has less of a budget than last week because i had to pay for bills and such" and being a nice customer. i got epp for a school purchase. and told them how much i supposedly had in my account and yeah she set a special pricing for my purchase. lol i also called and tried to apply the $50 off coupon that i got for sigining up for the emails. he said i had to cancel my order and that would delay my order even more... then i asked him about something else and he checked with his higher ups and they changed their mind said i cant take $50 off because i already have over $200 off my order so the offer got canceled oh well.
-
@mikel = someone got warned off the last time that happened but i'm not very sure myself
-
@ceolwulf
Good point... 4gb + SSD. which reminds me... should i get this 30gb SSD? only 2 hours and 22 minutes left to order it... -
Is the max size of SSD you can put on the m11x really 256GB or is that youtube video with the keyboard cat floating around misleading..
-
thanks, what is your configuration? i haggled a bit but i really want 800 or 850 before tax and they wouldn't budge on the HDD if i get a smaller HDD i def. could've had 850 or less after epp and coupon and haggling. my total was 920 before tax.. 984 or 986 after..
-
any differences between these 2 HyperX memory?
-
According to some other posters in the previous thread, SSD prices are expected to fall later in the year so I would save it. I'm not sure how much but amounts thrown around were "a lot" and "50%".
I wouldn't believe anything in the same video as an Internet meme.
OT: that was the first time I've seen keyboard cat. -
Same mate. Unless someone can see something wrong with the item codes.
-
@linrenwei
black
su7300
2gb memory
500gb hdd
bluetooth
Advanced 1 year warranty
hmm i have my entire order a few pages back or so...
i only have 10 posts so just click on my name and check my recent posts. -
one memory is 4G and the other is 4GX... wth is the difference? lol
-
Think its a typo. But besides that its the same I guess. Besides in the PC world, X always means better. GTX... m11x... m15x... ROFL
-
One of them is 4G, the other is 4GX. >_> Not sure of the differences but damn RAM is expensive.
-
4GB. If your asking if you need 8GB, you probably don't. You know if you need 8GB or not for the most part
-
ic thanks mine was 34 more for 4gb ram wish we could get rid of that damn 500gb hdd... and save me some money T_T overkill..
-
The one without the "x" has lower caslatency numbers, so would be a little more responsive. Probably wouldn't notice one way or the other, but from a numbers view, thats the one that would be considered better.
-
Ironically dan, the one with the X is cheaper.
-
As i explained earlier i was able to customize it any way i wanted based on the options from the normal dell site. and the rep applied special pricing for me. i was planning to do 160gb hard drive and 8gb memory but i couldnt get it low enough into my budget range so i had the rep change my 160gb hard drive back to 500gb and 2gb memory and the advanced warranty. so i saved about 24% what it would normally cost. which is big savings to me.
-
hmm i wonder if anyone could get a rep to make one base everything which costs 799 normally with a special pricing of close to 600. possible?
-
definitely. 2 weeks ago
-
I'm just afraid of one thing, i already see ULV i5 processors, wont we be outsiders with this core 2 duo proc?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...Arrandale.22_.28ultra-low_voltage.3B_32_nm.29
How much cores there will be? -
haha oh you mean with the stacking? how about without the stacking?
-
The base price with all the coupons stacking was $619 I think
-
I know, I'm not sure I get it either, threw me for a loop.
-
2 core 4 threads it says...
MAX TDP from 10w to 18w
1ghz to 1.8(turbo boost)
+Hyper Threading
+DMI
and whatever else...
but then again price would probably start at $1000+
Sounds good... im going to be mad if the m11x gets updated to this processor in a few months...
SU7300 vs i5-520UM -
@mikel527
Read my order advice thread, EPP Section, Bullet 3
-
I got the same deal except i went for the higher CPU.
just add 100$ to that price -
@Dan
Haha that is so true. i guess i got lucky when the lady called me back after 45 min of waiting. -
Damn im getting addicted to the forums LOL.
-
it's one helluva drug i tell you wut.
haha me too.. i'm waiting for it to arrive and some info! -
late to the conversation, but both of the systems I ordered I configured in a regular cart, and had my EPP rep import them in and apply the discounts.
I used the EPP 10%, $100 off systems over $1000, $50 off from the subscription offer, 3% off from using my DPA, and finally a coupon I had from an "issue" that they offered as a resolution
Paid $735 each. -
It's a matter of opinnion on when a game runs good.
Wow has been reported to run well enough on ion netbooks having an atom processor and a 3DMark 06 score of 1500-2000. The M11x has a score of over 6000.
I'm pretty sure you will be able to play it well. Might be however it does not play super-smooth with the highest settings. -
It does have dualband 802.11N, so yes, 5 GHz.
However as far as I undertand and have seen, they use a Dell Wireless 1520 (802.11n) card, not the intel 5100 or 5300. This may vary between countries though.
However you should know that the intel 5300 has three antenna connections available (checked that in my Precision M6400) and as far as I've seen, the M11x has only 2 Wifi/Wlan antennas. -
I was able to run WoW on my old Inspiron 4150(like 6 or 7 years old now and still going) on Med settings(more then playable). It shouldn't have a problem with the m11x.
-
I... must... have... m11x..
-
DUDE how did you get it that cheap? I can't get this thing under $1020.00 with the SU7300 and 4GB Ram... this is ridiculous. I don't wanna spend that much when everyone else is spending like $100-200 less. And I AM a student! Wow...
-
They were doing a 10% student discount when the system was released. I don't think they are anymore.
-
Someone got their system already!!!!!
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=5897704#post5897704 -
Pics or it didn't happen.
-
@opnickc
I'm still waiting on that dude. Can't wait! -
@jonk = Turns out he was a dud
-
@nuke
Was getting my hopes up, too. -
Actually I was wondering too but I'm in Cynic mode today so lol. We're getting there mate. We're getting there.
-
how did he get busted as a dud! I was too excited gah
-
@impruv = No proof. Quote rushmore "Drive-by fake post"
EDIT: I think we should give it some time before dropping the fakestick on this, so stay frosty.
-
I believe the 1520 is the same as the Intel 5100 half mini.
-
You have to use the Employee Purchase site (EPP) to get 10% off. Configure the system in a cart and then call the EPP Agent. They can reduce the confirguation on the phone.
For example, on EPP you can only get 500GB drive...but calling the EPP agent can get you the lesses drive sizes.
Drop the drive size, loose the virus protection, and any other foolish "Included in the Price" items
Decide on CPU, Memory size etc
The extra 100 off coupon is expired but I am sure another will surface at some point. There is still a $50 off coupon if you join the mailing list.
The really low system prices were from a Dell mistake where the 100 off and the 50 off could be stacked. Thats been fixed.
You might also try and negotiate as some have done on this thread. -
@ANEJO - Hey thanks for your last post about negotiating with the EPP reps. Havent tried that because I thought that the minimum HDD spec was 500GB as part of the discount package since it doesn't give you the option to downgrade. I have tried to get rid of the antivirus stuff but they told me that doesnt usually come with Alienwares since they try to keep them as light or bloatware free as possible
-
Does everyone get a starting price of $1069.00 for M11x on the Dell EPP website?

Thanks.
