I think my EDD is something like 3/23/2010 so I'm gonna be glued to this thread for like a month... At least I will know exactly what to expect by the time I get this thing. Also, gonna be buying a few accessories for it like that little bluetooth dongle and maybe the Kabuto microfiber mat if it's not too big for it. Darkhan, do you have the Kabuto by chance so we can see what it looks like on the laptop?

Oh and I was wondering if we can clean the screen with that microfiber mat as well if anyone knows...

DR, I think they just want an Official Official one, since finally one person has it. What they don't realize is that it will also get flooded by all the other ones that don't have one.

Best thing to do is wait for the mods to create a part 4 guys.

The Dell EPP phone line says my order has shipped. I ordered on 2/3 with a custom name plate. But I don't have a tracking number yet and my online order page has not been updated.

Ah ha! Found the third owner's lounge. Ordered late, last night. Glad to see people are already getting these... when I looked on day 1, the estimated delivery date was a month off.

    Alienware M11x, Lunar Shadow
    Intel Core2 Duo SU7300
    4GB Dual Channel DDR3
    160GB SATAII 5,400RPM
Bluetooth Module, 2.1+ Enhanced Data Rate

I was a day away from buying an ASUS 1201N when these were announced, and did a lot of research leading up to this. Alienware bit me with the GDDR3/GDDR5 mixup on my M17x and shipping delays, so I was quite hesitant... I'm hoping the M11x renews my faith in the brand.

I bought mine a few days ago. Been following the forum for a while. I'm just waiting for benchmarks to see whether I keep or cancel the order. I'm torn between getting it now or waiting till the next model. So if anyone gets one and would be so kind as to post benchmarks of the latest games I'm sure many in my position would appreciate it. Thanks!

It is gunmetal, not to bright not to dark.......just right!

D, you plan on leaving it at 1.73ghz? Seems to make sense, since Asus clocks theirs as standard (for VT) at that speed and HH's review stated only one degree temp increase. As you probably already know, the chip has a high ceiling. My guess is about 10% less battery life (worst case).

Main issue will be the 335m, since I would expect such a small form factor to sound like a hovercraft when fully stressed with a 3D game. Be nice to know how loud the fan gets with 3D games. Example, will it wake my wife when we are on our cruise in April (cabins have amplified acoustics) ;)

It would be nice to have the option to set the bus speed manually, we could certainly have some fun then! Imagine a 333MHz bus speed, that would clock the CPU at 2.13GHz...

Yes, you'd need to get some 1333MHz RAM but it'd be quite the system. Have you seen any cases of a SU7300 reaching 2GHz safely?

I have seen posts, but not personally. Seems to make sense it could be done. That speed is probably near the ceiling, so temps and bettery would be more a factor at that speed.

My rep got back to me and explained why orders are shipping seemingly out of order. Basically, when orders came in they were assigned a production line. So order 1 went to line 1, order 2 to line 2, etc until they went all the way around and then order 6 or something was the second order for line 1. The idea was once production started all lines would roll at the same speed. However, production started and some lines had delays, equipment failures, and other mishaps. So now some lines are ahead of others, which means that some orders from 2/2 or 2/3 on the slower lines just now getting going while an order from 2/4 or 2/5 might already be boxing or shipping from the faster production lines.

She said as far as she could tell none of the config options should cause a delay, it is just the price of early production problems that orders are shipping out of date sequence.

I'm planning to order a M11x soon, but I'm wondering if I should hold off a month or so... Rumor is Dell may be announcing Core i3/i5 chips for the M11x, and maybe Nebula Red might make an appearance as a color option as well? But Dell's offering some pretty good discounts right now, and I just got an Alienware flyer in the mail for 15% off. I suspect the discounts might be better now before any new hardware changes come.

Then go on Dell's epp site and config the M11X to your liking. Then save your cart and give Dell's epp department a call. Tell them to remove the anti-virus that you do not want (that will save you around $90), make the HD smaller (unless you want the 500gb HD, it will be cheaper), and ask them if they can make it any cheaper for you. After you get all the deals possible, tell him to apply your 15% coupon.

Stunner about the Asus 30JT. Sure, it has the i7, but the 310m is simply a product refresh of the 210m, which is already a 3D game bottleneck to the SU7300.

If you are a 3D gamer, you will be seriously letdown waiting for the 30JT. The M11x seems a no-brainer for mobile gamers with a lot less wait and probably similar price :)

Feeling even better about Mini-Me11x now :)

@rushmore: the Asus 30VT plays TF2 and CSS at great frame rates all high at native res so I mean it's not bad per say. Just isn't juicy enough for the much newer games like batman/crysis[this is just beast]/ nfs shift.
Left for dead, they all play fine on the VT and JT is maybe 5fps better than the VT so ya.
