I do believe wifi is standard now is it not? Only card brand differences.

 

So far I have yet to sell a laptop that has no WiFi card. No OS? Yep. No WWAN? Yep. No Bluetooth? Yep. No Optical Drive? Yep. No Wifi?.... Lol

 

I did it through business (I have a dedicated enterprise rep that is located in Toronto), I will never purchase anything from dell that is sold through the home site/ phone number (No offense but they are overseas and don't know much about anything) I called numerious times for information about the
m11x and I knew more about the product and ordering then they did.

@RAQemUP - ya well the Bluetooth in Canada was suppose to be "standard" but found out it wasn't so I just wanted to make sure. When I spoke to my rep he named off the half module etc.. so I figured I was safe that WIFI came "standard"

for dragon age i had it on max but turned off v sync and AA

does anyone else's hinges squeak when you move the screen. when i move the screen down using one hand on the left side there's a very noticeable squeak in the hinges.

For those who already have it, does your laptop make a strange sound every few minutes? The sound comes from the big fan on the bottom. It's like a small strange clicking sound.

 

Just ordered a custom timbuk2 bag. Got overnight shipping which speeds the bags processing/build time from 4-6 days + another 4-5 days shipping to 1-2 days and then overnight. Should have it by Thursday . Until then no bike riding for me with my laptop.

I want my m11x now........ I have to wait until march 18th. At least I found people that want to buy my xps m1210 for $500. My m1210 has been perfect over the past three years.

Has anyone considered putting some 3m clear bra or something like that on their black m11x's to maybe make fingerprints less visible? Or would that be weird?

 

I used to feel almost okay with leaving my laptop in the classroom if I had to run to the restroom. Not anymore.

 

EDD was March 11th until I got an email today and tracking number confirming delivery tomorrow. I can't wait!!!

 

What would be a good scratch and fingerprint protection?

 

Wow guys, I love this laptop so much, I feel like it is very quick, I do not seem to notice any speed difference from my 2.26ghz macbook pro. Overall just really great.

I have not played any games yet, I have been downloading/installing them all day.

The monitor is good, but I can see where some people might complain. You can tell it is not an IPS panel. But a good picture regaurdless.

 

I think I need to make a fake design on my AW for school.. I'll put like a banana peel on a corner.. white stains(could be coffee or somethin) on another corner >) yes... some cobwebs!.. yes BUAHAH. this way people will be too grossed out to try and even touch it yet alone steal it >D..

:| but first I need to actually receive it.

 

I am REALLY glad I went with black now. So much classier. That is extremely nice and the best pic of the m11x yet!

I live in a city with a little under 50,000 people. Nowhere is further than 4 miles from my house, so my main modes of transportation in order:

1) 120mpg Scooter
2) Bike
3) 12mpg Car (rain days and really cold winter days)
4) 50 mpg Enduro (if I need to go to the next town over and take the interstate)

Yeah... Timbuk2 bags are great for biking, lots of local riders use them, very secure and the way it locks onto your shoulder and distributes weight makes it very very comfortable for walking, biking, etc without the bag bouncing every where. Right now I just use a cheap American Eagle messenger bag with my netbook, but I really don't care about my netbook lol. Figured I should invest in a real bag for the m11x.

Hm, this is odd - when I'm on integrated Intel graphics, the HDMI output doesn't work. It works just fine when I switch over to the discreet graphics, however. Is this expected behavior?

 

I would imagine the thinking behind it would be, why would you be plugged into a monitor and not into power? I can think of reasons not to be, but it makes some sense to me. If you are outputting in 1080 you would want to be using the card capable of doing so.

Hmm... well the Intel GMA 4500MHD (the M11x's integrated gfx) is capable of 1080p playback, but I'm surprised that it doesn't support HDMI. Maybe there's a better driver somewhere? It should support it.

If you can, try it with the DisplayPort. It should support that, too.

 

I know there was another method posted but the method that I used on my Acer netbook a few weeks ago was to just use the tool provided in the Microsoft Store. You give it the ISO file and it makes the USB drive bootable for you:

I've got my sidewinder x8! Am over the moon with it, but the puck is HUGE and so is the mouse compared to the Orochi...But having Master Chief on the box is all the awesome I need... Now all thats left is the m11x...
