ha thanks Dio, nope haven't gotten it yet, but I did get moved to shipped status today! woohoo, so I've just been reading loads of posts and prepping all my downloads and apps right now, putting them onto an SD and thumb drive to be ready to install. I'll have a busy day once it actually comes in.

So anyone with a legit office 2007 disc have you tried copying it to a USB / External then plugging it into the m11x? Would that work?

I am at school atm so can't test it and plus I don't have my m11x yet lol.

I've used an ISO of Office 2007, loaded it via Daemon tools lite and installed from there like normal. This is what I plan to do again for M11x, so yeah if you can make an ISO of the office disc and just simply copy that ISO file to a thumb drive, you'll be good to go, since my ISO sits in my external HDD

OK, a little bit good news, my rep just called me and said that if my screen can not be replaced with the Dell In Home service, they will send me a whole new system and After I receive it, than I am going to send them my old one, have to give them a credit for that.

    @aznguyen316

Yea, it's completely mental. There's no way it's really lighter. Haha

I just turned on OC, plan on leaving it on all the time.

Anyone OC it over the 1.6 yet?

Well does that mean I need to make my office 2007 an ISO and I can't just copy/paste it from the cd to the usb?

filipp, I edited my post, but yeah I made it an ISO, which is pretty simple with any program, and then load it up that way. Maybe you CAN just copy the files straight over though, just haven't tried it that way. Don't see why that wouldn't work either.

They did that for me when I had some trouble with the N900. Shipped me one and I kept the other until it arrived. Let us know if they are able to replace the screen or end up replacing the whole system. Handy info.

If you copy all the contents of the disc onto your alienware, you can install it by running setup.exe I believe.

I just noticed that Dell added the previously missing card reader drivers to their support site. Good stuff. Now all that's missing is the Command Center, and it sounds like they're working on that.

Yesterday i recieved my m11x its awesome it run all games that i tried like modern warfare 2 crysis and some older games with eaz. :( only sending it back cause the fan noise is insainly loud  compared to my other dell xps sli lappy that even on full load don't make this much fan noise. I contacted dell tech support and they adviced me to a refund and order a new one and hope that the new one don't have a loudy fan(Also get an extra 5 % disscount coupon). Even in idle mode or in he bios with no oc or using the nvidia gpu it makes real noticibale fan noise. Any of u have same problem ?

I hope I don't have the same issue. If I do then I will force them to send a tech to my house to replace components instead of ordering a new one since I basically used like a 30% off coupon which I am sure they wouldn't duplicate after all the coupons stacked.

True there but the dell tech support also offered me a repair at home but if u do that u will lose the refund option so they adviced me to ask for a refund instead of repair. And hope u wont get same problem i did.

Interesting... I thought a screen change wasn't too difficult, do you have the Gobi WWAN option?

But glad to hear you're being taken care of. :)

Yep thats true but like the tech support said to me u will lose the option to refund within certain amount of days. So after first repair they only will o repairs and if it aint fixed the 3rd time u will get a new same or when same not available a beter. But u will not get ure money back so thats why the tech guy said that i should ask a refund instead of a repair inhome. :)

madcow that looks awesome.. but I also wonder if a mouse and power supply would fit well without squishing into the system itself..

debating on a simple sleeve + bag, or just a nice bookbag, or only going messenger bag..

i am not sure if it would fit a mouse or pad, but i ordered one, i think it would protect it better, and it will easily fit in my xps 17" bag, pull it out and go into panera bread, or any place that has wifi, and with the battery lasting as long as it does, you might not have to lug the battery around. when i get it i will try to post some kind of real world information on it.

Going to use the portfollio case for extra protection inside a case when I decided on one. In the meantime I will continue to use my Brenthaven case that I use on the M1330.

I was able to calculate this bag's dimensions to 20.5"W x 7.5"D x 13"H. Yes, it will hold the bigger laptops but I still think it's a good size to hold the M11x, power adapter, mouse, gaming headset, external optical drive/HDD and a few other things. Perfect as a carry-on bag IMHO. :)

I think the people that are shipping this back the same, or next day because the fan is running all the time needs to pause, i think you have like 20 days ??? to return it, it might be as simple as a bios fix. I am sure if enough people call and complain, they will jump right on it and find a fix for it. For the deal I got on mine, it would have to be something pretty major to send it back.

I can not speak for others, but my m11x even on power saver and on integrated graphics, the fan is continuously on without break, and the fan can be heard OVER my desktop which has a cooler master HAF 922 case + intel i7 920 + ATI 5870 video card. M11x is louver than the aforementioned desktop.

I am sensitive to noise, more so than regular folks, but with the above 2 system, my desktop is 1 ft away from my bed and I can sleep with it on. With the M11x on 4 feet away from me, I can not fall asleep.

Did you try setting your fan to passive? I think on the power profile you can set GPU cooling to passive. At least that what BigTymer said earlier in the thread.

    power profile... under bios? or...?

And on passive....wouldnt the GT335m fry the mobo? or if I intend to use the GT 335 I have to enable the fan to acctive? that's a solution but a pain in the xxx to do it all the time.. :(

I'm not exactly sure. I just remember reading about it (it's post 2440 in this thread). You could pm BigTymer and find out how he did it. But it does sound like a pain. Hopefully Dell/Alienware will come out with a bios update to fix this.
