Thats about what i expected to see considering clocks and resolution..

The GPU OC runs should be interesting though..

I would love an SSD and hopefully the prices fall abit more.. I would need 256gig minimum for all the junk i like to keep on my PC and those prices are still abit ridiculous.. I could splurge and get one but i am a person who has buyers remorse more often then not so i have learned my lesson over the years of making hasty purchases... Or atleast i would like to think i have learned :)..

fair? I never keep the stock image on any of my machines.

Did you see the Intel deal from newegg? I know it's only 160 but that's what a second drive is for. ;)

Yeah thats still a little rich for my blood :)..

I know you talked about how the OEM Samsung drives from dell dont have the updated firmware with Trim Support so does that mean that in the long run the drive will just become worse and worse interms of performance with no way to restore the stock performance IE some type of defrag ?.

see. That's to much for me. I would get the qx9300.

    again.
    quad
    thanks for the m17x
    drake
    thanks for the ram.
if everything goes right, hopefully, a cpu will be next. But I AM thinking about selling my t9300 first. How much do you think it is worth?

Probably not to much but maybe if you find a gateway owner with a 6860fx that is looking for a performance boost they might give you a few bucks for it ..

Could be worth $100.00 or so... I paid like $300 and change for that CPU from newegg IRC.. Its been almost a year and half or longer so i dont remember the exact amount..

When I received my replacement SSD from Dell it came with the latest firmware which supports background garbage collection. Hopefully they are out of the older ones. The older one would eventually become as slow as platter drives with the possibility of stuttering.

So the ram works. That's good.

My 600-900 run was worse than stock. I saw some stuttering. I need better cooling. I'll try again with my cpu stock.

yes about that, I also got stuttering at 1920*1080 in overclocking but not 1920*1200. Weird.

yeah bit the t9300 then t9500 then x9000. There isn3 much upgrade for the first centrino cpu. So mine should hold more value.

When I had my last system I remember Crysis was picky about how you OC'ed. Another reason why it's not my favorite benchmark.

I'm not going to loop it. It'll just get worse as the heat builds.

When i was doing Crysis on Dons M17x i had issues when i OC'd the GPUs. The screen would crap out if i pushed it to far..

Crysis has never really liked GPU OC at all and CPU OC has such a small influence if any.. Its really meant to be run on stock GPUs.. Strange though at 600/900 you would see worse performance since the W90 with Turbo gear enabled ran it on those clocks without any issue.. Its such a mild OC that it should not be a problem..

Well, your 'trick' certainly works Drake :) Wow. Nice and stable @ 3.2.

Its been some time since I benched this thing and certainly not anywhere in the realm you 'number chasers' are in but here are 2 3DMark06 runs. Will hit up Vantage later.

This is with the very low performing 186.82 driver @ default GPU clocks. 9400M is disabled.

    I actually set FSB:MEM both @ 1280 for the first run (15984 3DMarks). Second run set FSB @ 1280 and MEM @ 1066 (15852 3DMarks).

Guess my next step will be to install the DOX driver and start bumping up the GPUs.

lol. Yes. About 5-6 minutes. Then I saw some crysis runs and woke up. :)

no I didn't have an issue on my sager and my allpowerful but I did on my whitebook and my hp.

I didn't play the game though. What I did now though is just install the game patch. Then patch the x86 .exe and run it. But I have a lot of .net framework installed as well.

Hello guys. Is the first page ofthis topic updated? Because it seems that the 3dmark06 record is 18xxx done by mandrank with ati crossfire.
And the vantage bench is also done with ati crossfire by mandrank.

So why at the first page, both record are nvidia?

The OP has been out of action due to computer issues, patience, it will eventually be updated.

Don, I also beat that score, the one in ORB is my best overall stock run. My best stock GPU score was around 10400

I am convinced right now after all these benchmarks. I definitely will go with ati crossfire. I have to ask to Dell to cancel the current order, and I will make a new one. It seems that I won't receive my laptop before chrismas. What a shame...
