nah. when i looked at how he posted his listing...it looks identical to how we post over here...but it was a desktop card. nothing unusual over here.

not to mention he ran physx. so with an addon usb vga card...you should be able to run physx with the 4870's

usb VGA card...? I am confused lol, you mean an external discrete card?

I am highly doubltful it can be done with the M17x unless you have a GTX260/280 in the daughter slot and a 4870 in the parent slot. Then use the ATI as your GPU and the Nvidia as the PPU. Not sure it can be done though using the 4870 CF. Note that the 9400m CANNOT be used for PhysX since it lacks dedicated memory.

Scook where is that diagram for the architecture of our system again? I thought the PPU was integrated with the 9400M.

I believe Phinagle posted a link before showing how to make it work with physx.

On that note has anyone run the Lost Planet Benchmark yet/recently?

1: you have to install and say yes to everything or they will not run or install right.
2: they will install right over what ever version you have, but will work
3: you will keep dx10/dx9 or even dx11 when it installs.
4: you have to install the opengl at the end or it wont work either. (06)

Good job. At 3.2Ghz you must be helping it somehow even if it's raised up some. With the Cryo you should hit 3.3-3.35. Faster if you like sitting out in the cold like I do. ;) Probably doesn't get colder than 50 down where you're at. It's 20 degrees here today.

we have a big old covered front porch with a table, but the night I was setup out there (thanksgiving because I have no life :D) it was windy as hell, I will try it again soon when school is out - should be colder than too, didn't have the proper clothes at thanksgiving and that was a little miserable

My first run with a T9900 and stock GPU was higher than my best run with OC'ed x9100 and OC'ed nVidia cards.

Gotta get that cooler Quad. It's inexpensive and very helpful.

Lol i know ... I just hate the concept of them plus i move mine around alot is the reason why i dont buy them anymore ... I had purchased a couple junky ones over the years from the umpteen machines i bought but all the fans croaked in them ... Now they make some real high quality ones so i gotta invest into one for sure..

inexpensive? I don't think so. $70.00 for a cooler is pretty much piggy in the bank. I'm still waiting for the CRYO LX.UPS re-scheduled for monday, I suppose to have had it already today.

For all those that may have missed a post from me earlier this week (how dare you!) I bought a T9900 and I've been testing with it. Here is the highest OC I can boot with but it's not completing benchmarks. Maybe if I go outside again it can.
