lol, keep them coming Rengsey. You see the scores you need to surpass. ;)

BTW, I don't think the registry edit will help you. After a certain OC you need more cooling and voltage but you can always try it.

You should be able to hit 3.35Ghz before voltage becomes an issue.

. . .creepy. However, I am working hard on learning to appreciate the lengths to which you fine folks go in order to achieve your benchmark scores.

Anyway, my machine should be here around next week.

Uh. I'll have a T9550 out of the box, along with dual 280m GTX cards.

I am only interested in getting a CPU upgrade in the immediate future. Also, I am looking to save money, so if its an unlocked Q9200, then I'll make my peace with the move.

However, I need some feedback on what I can currently do with the T9550. How well do these overclock? I assume they should not be too much trouble. And how do I go about achieving those higher clocks? I wish to get the most GHz out of the CPU so that my SLi performance remains top-notch.

    Cheers.

T9550 should be a monster overclocker so i wouldnt worry to much about it..

Dondah got his T9300 up to i think 3.2ghz and 3.125 for everyday use so you should be able to push past those with very little issue...

I could get the CPU up some, around 13400, but I am still happy with the result :)

This was for you Don, since you had to go and use 185.20....lol

    That's good to know!

Although I think I may have misunderstood something here about Dondah's overclocking. T9300? Is that compatible with the M17X?

Not blind, you can see everything, the colors are just messed up, still can see what is going on though. I actually want to play around with the INF and see if I can get it to work properly. If I can I will be much more inclined to do more runs with this driver :)

then my cpu at 3.125ghz gets 10,500 when i'm suppose to break 12k on the cpu....

Well I just got the Cat 9.12 drivers installed and ran two benchmarks on vantage with Mem at 1280, FSB 1280 mult 10 as well as Mem and FSB at 1300. At 1300 CPU went up 333 pts, gpu went down 23pts. Totals 11,788 and 11,837. Still havn't messed with the clocking of the GPU or any the voltage of the CPU. Happy New years everyone!

Well Mandrake was able to get the GPU score at 14200 with his T9900 in his M17x, you should be able to achieve around the same

Just have to make sure that you have everything tweaked appropriately

Nope..indoor doing this. C2D vs. Qaud are totally different when it comes to OC'n and stability. C2D is better in OC and Stability, which mandrake has shown with the T9900 period.

dual cores always OC further, more power available per core, however the benefit of twice the cores will far outpace the smaller OC margin (QX9300s at 3.3+ vs a T9900 at 3.5/3.6)

I think the ATI drivers are better. I had an issue with Borderlands and Cat 9.11 but that's it. 9.12 has been great for benching and gaming.

that's probably why..you need to "get it colder" to stablize your cpu for benching at higher speeds.
912 + sdk seems to fit together nicely.

well rengsey....that's your cue to "get it colder"... not about how cold it gets outside..but how cold you get the machine to operate...lol
    and scook
the netbook is a great side kick...all though i wish the battery lasted longer.

Thanks John, looking at that and the EEE 12" ION model. Obviously the main deciding factor is the CPU, but there is a noticeable difference in graphics between the 2 platforms (the ION is much stronger)

And I started looking at the M15x as a backup option too, I am trouble lol

Thats what I saw early on. Although in your high GPU shot, your FSB is at around 1310, I had to run Vantage around 5 times before I could get a complete test at 1305 without crashing. Guess I'll have to keep trying :p
