MY M17X SHIPPPPEDDDD!!!!! I cant believe it, I'm finally gonna get some rest tonight, it has an eta to be delivered on the 15th but fedex estimates the 12th, cant wait, counting the days!!!

 

i now have a tracking number! my computer will be here the 12th so all in all it took 11 days from order to delivery i had 5-7 day delivery too! lol so i geuss its now 2 day shipping

 

I got a number also. still says mine is the 14th :-( where do you guys live?

I paid for 2nd day shipping. wth!!! lol

 

when you go on the order status website click on the tracking number. the estimated delivery date on dells site is not the day it will be delivered ( usually). you have to look at what fed ex says it will be delivered

 

I did. its the 14th... I hate fedex for that reason. When I pay for 2nd day UPS i get 2nd day.. with fedex.. its like 11th day.

nope.. I called and up a storm about the price. So they are looking to try to send me some free stuff. Waiting for them to email me back

Yes, I see! You are more adventurous than I regarding the CPU replacement. I watched Moo's CPU swap video, but I'm not comfortable enough gutting a new machine like that. I'll just have to accept parting with my money to cover that insecurity.

I still have to order the SSD drives and memory. I'm waiting for a price drop on e-bay for the former. I had one on the hook the other night, but by the time I finished screwing around with Bing Cashback, it was sold out from under me, lol.

 

yeah we will see what they do for me. I guess they are going to get back to me tomorrow.

 

psh. free stuff is freakin awesome. because of my last mix up, I accidentally ordered 2 of the same package equalling around 10,000 dollars, so naturally I cancelled one, but I didn't cancel it fast enough because they went ahead and shipped all the accessories...even the double ones. So I have 2 Orion Messanger bags, 2 xbox controllers, 2 ethernet boxes, 2 extra batteries...and since I just canceled the last order...all that junk was totally free. And I just received my free headset and mouse today...I'm high sailing on free junk.

 

Wanna get rid of one of those batteries?

No, they've been claimed already by my friend who is actually the one buying me the laptop. He's got an M17x as well and since this happened he owns it. Otherwise, I wouldn't care! ...but how would we go about me giving it to you anywayz??

My replacement went into boxing yesterday so I'm hoping to get it by the middle of next week. Fingers crossed!

Congratz! Ive checked the tracking 3 times today and some yesterday. nothing has changed.

 

I'm not sure where mine is, all just a waiting game at this point. My order has said this for the last week or so. Although it is moving to iraq. Just hoping it doesn't really take till Jan 15th to get here

Well just emailed the rep and she stated that because it's going to an APO that there is no tracking info and it takes a month. guess I'll just wait longer. Maybe plan more upgrades. Maybe SSD prices will drop...

 

Yes, the APO mail takes forever. People used to mail care packages to me that morphed into MREs by the time I received them.

Got my fingers crossed for ya. It's hard enough to leave stateside and deploy, much less having to wait for something you really, really want.

 

is hard to say how long is going to take to get to iraq but you don't have to worry about how long, the main thing is how they going to handle your pachage i hope every thing come good man good luck

 

Thanks, I'm hoping too! I'm hoping it gets treated well. I was told that insured packages get put in a seperate box. One where things get taken care of. Hopefully the laptop was insured. Kinda why I started the warranty thread.

 

well today is the day! its in a delivery truck as we speak and hopefully will be here within the hour! and yes dell ships laptops as insured so it will be taken care of.

If it's not too late you can call and cancel and then go through the EPP and get 10% off when you re order. tell them your with the Army or what ever service. I'm in the Army and thats the route I went

which makes me feel a little better lowing the price about $300 bucks

 

I'm not likin' it much at all. I'm LOVIN' it!

So far I consider myself one of the lucky ones. Absolutely no problems so far; everything works beautifully. I do see alternating red spiking in the dpc latency software, peaking at 4000. No impact at all on sound or games yet. Very impressed with the build quality and quietness of fans during routine use.

The fun part was freaking out the kids with the keyboard lighting screens. Now they want an M17x, but Santa ain't playin' dat game!

 

hahaha sounds like fun. I can't wait to play around with mine. Hopefully I have a problem free one too.

Hi, I am having trouble as well with recieving my headset and mouse, the promo showed up on the site but not under the cart and the sales rep confirmed this with me and ensured I would still recieve them.. of course.

I contact customer service today to see what was takign so long with shipping and they expedited my order which was great but whne asking about the headset and mouse they claim that the promotion ended and they do not see it on the site as of today so they cannot help.

If anyone does have it screenshotted for proof as they had the same situation, can you please post it so I can go after obtaining my free gear.

thats odd, you should of received an invoice. My Orion is supposed to ship today and be here tomorrow. the mouse and headset 1-7. So I guess they are backordered

 

I think ive found the root problem of this through searching other forums and info from dell. The promotion was for november but they left the text on the online configuration stating you get a free mouse and headset with purchase until december 10th when it was removed, although the cart did not reflect it because the promo ended.

Either way since it was still stated still and I ordered on the December 02 I feel they need to fulfill their promise as I was under hte impression I was recieving these when I bought it and the sales person guarenteed I would still recieve it over the phone. I am requesting a email response confirming he saw the promotion as I did on that date althoguht I doubt he will which is why I need the screenshot that someone earlier on this forum topic posted they could provide so I can prove this.

 

Rengsey please provide me with your screenshot if you get a chance.

one question. When did you placed your order?

 

I placed my order on December 2 so I just clipped the part of the screenshot showing the laptop in config because they arent gonna believe my page said ship date would be the 8th. Either way its the same shot I saw on their site on the 2nd when I ordered. If the promotion truly did end in November like they said they still have to honor it as it was showed in the webpage until december 10th when i noticed it disapeared.

Funny enough that my call today changed the arrival date estimate from January 9th to December 30th becuase I called to get anwsers about this plus stated when configuring it today it said a new one would ship by the 28th which is odd since I ordered mine on the 2nd and my original date was Jan 1. I guess they were nice enough to expedite my build time as well as shipping.

And before asking i configured it with the same parts and got a better shipping date estimated today than I did 2 weeks ago. They need to get their web management down lol

 

Just placed my order today! Cant wait till it comes says it should be here by the first week of january...

Oh ok. My full specs are in my sig now. Its a nice set up you say? Do you think the 280M sli and 1200p resolution was worth it? I hope to get the best gaming experience possible with the options I chose.

Oh and do you think getting 6GB of ram would of made a big difference?

 

Yeah, the 280M is a good choice, the ATi's are slightly better, as it have been proven. The 1200p LCD is a good choice also, as it will give you high and crisp resolution. The higher the resolution, the better the graphic is. As I see this is more on the video side(blu-ray, mkvs..and so forth). About teh RAM, IT's better if you are multi-tasking all the time. Editing videos, video streaming..... More is good ...lol I LOVE RAM myself.

 

The most multi tasking I ever do is having itunes, small movie editing software, fraps, and a game open Should easily be able to handle all that lol.

 

Well still waiting on my laptop to get here, but in the meantime my newegg order of thermal paste, 640GB HDD, and RAM got here.

On a differant note. Does the mouse and headset show up on the invoice? I ordered my laptop on black friday and didn't see it on the invoice nor was there any mention of it.

 

Ive been reading around about the ATI's in which hardware wise they are more powerful but many claim that the driver support is lacking for current games that will actualy utilize all of that power. Personally I chose the dual 260m as they have proven to have less overheating issues with GPU's frying like the 280s in the first week as I have seen claimed when these things started shipping in July. Possible this issue was corrected a while ago, who knows, but either way saved me 400 bucks and I get a 50 dollar gift card to buy my orion bag with!

Also make sure to check if you can buy through dell employee purchase program. If the company you work for buys dell primarily or a family member you know works for a company that does you can qualify. You get a 10% discount on your total as well as direct north american support if you are a dell epp customer. Trust me when I say you do not wait on hold when you call. All three times I have called about my order I was connected with no hold time. Best of all you can understand who your talking to.
