You should or somebody should make a new thread for m17x r2 Order status. This can be very confusing until Dell takes the m17x r1 off the site and everyone knows that only the m17x r2s are available.

I'm not a big fan of starting threads here. I know someone like joker will do it.

Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
I do notice that. Striker is also one too...lol Where is he anyway?..lol
-
He's hanging out in the Asus forums since he preordered the G73.

ha ha ha...you hit the nail on that one.. if everything goes to plan, I might just try to squeeze my budget to get the R2 of m17x.
First time owning a house, and there is a lot of financial priorities that needs attention. -
I hear that, I'm actually looking at houses now too. Not to mention student loans and possibly a new car when I get home, oh and a wedding
haha

when you say wedding remind me this poor guy

-
hahahaha thankfully it didn't quite go like that
lol
-
omg, that's was funny. I want to know what they said now.
-
me too. I want to know how the couples next conversation went
-
Maybe it's something I am doing wrong, but I tried the number in the link and the only thing the automated system would say is "it's in processing" along with the estimated delivery date. This was in the US btw, so maybe they are no longer detailing the processing stage
-
I tried this morning and it still worked. Still says build stage.
Here's a quote from that link.
-
Yeah, its strange, called in again, same automatic response message for the order, spoke to a rep who indicated the order was in production, payment received etc. and the site shows "In Production" but no breakdown of the stage. Kind of worries me as to what is really going on at Dellienware!
-
On your order status page click on the Dell purchase ID. Sometimes that link says something different.
-
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
You have to choose , " to hear more detail " right after you get the first status. -
I am sure I am beating a dead horse here, I don't even get that as an option, which number did you call into? I am probably going to have to check with them tomorrow to see what's going on ----
-
Docsteel: 1800-283-2210, options 3 2 1 1. My order's still in the build stage, so it looks like it really may end up taking the estimated time they listed.
The M15x I had was already shipped by now.
-
Still in the build stage...
-
same, just checked. I'm hoping for boxing stage by Friday and delivery by next week.
-
BTW, anyone with a January ETA?
-
I don't think anyone does since the first shipment is Jan 29th. I've never had a Dell laptop that was in build for this long. I guess you previous M17x owners are used to this?
-
I've got an ETA of Feb 1st, which is the earliest I've seen. Just called and I'm still in the build stage as well...sigh, lets hope for boxing by Friday.
-
My first M17x was stuck for 5 weeks back in Oct. but the reorder in Nov. and the replacement order for that one in Dec. each took only 8 days to ship after the order was placed. My M17x-R2 ship date is 2/1 like most here but hopefully it will ship next week, still in the build phase.
-
Okay - now I understand, I had not ordered through the EPP. I found out I could through work and with a 7% difference I had to cancel and reorder, delaying my ETA until 02/05
One bit of information I found out of interest was that apparently the LoJack software is not working right on the M17x so it is no longer being loaded... and they will have to do it later, I presume remotely.
Also, when I inquired about the Blu-ray option, I was told it was for a "special model" - supposedly reserved for the highest end i7 configurations. Yeah right, whatever dude! -
I just receive a call from my EPP rep saying that my request to have my order expedited was denied due to high backlogs....not a good sign.
-
I wonder if the reason the m15x shipped so quickly was there are far fewer orders for it, or if the m17x' are taking longer to build due to all the boards and processors already on order for the m15x's?
-
mines in production
-
I wouldn't be surprised if our R2 orders are going to be held up from them trying to get rid of as many R1's as they can. Hope it doesn't take longer than the EDD, coming on 4 months trying to get a working one, lol.
-
I'm moving at the end of feb so hopefully they can deliver before then.
-
He was probably bs'ing you. My rep claimed the build was going fine and would hit boxing soon. I think these guys just make stuff up.
-
He went out of his way to call me and tell me this. I didn't call him.
-
Ok I called a different rep and he told me the same thing your rep said. I asked if there would be a delay and he said he wasn't anticipating one but also said it will likely take the full eta.
-
Hmmm... FWIW since I switched my order and thus lost 4 days on my order to get an EPP going, the rep told me they were shipping "on time" which I presume to mean they arrive on or close to the date they indicate.
BTW, thanks to all you folks on here, I never would have known about the EPP if I hadn't come here. -
My eta is the 2nd of feb. I don't know my order number and the company I ordered from said it was internal information that I'm not allowed to know =/
All they've told me is that its in prodcution, but I'm guessing I will get mine at the same time as jokers because we both ordered ours the same day. -
They said you couldn't know your own order number??? What is that about?! You're paying them... sheesh!
-
Which company did you order from? There's no reason they shouldn't give you an order number. Hope they are reliable. Well one piece of good news I received today was that Dell gave me back a full refund on my M15x. -
how did you get an epp purchase on an R2
-
Turns out I work for a company that has an agreement with Dell... . Like a lot of bigger companies they have arrangements with vendors... they also have Apple, and a lot of companies local to where I live. I just never thought to check until the folks on here started talking about it!
-
Hey Joker, it's funny, we are almost on the same path here. I have a m15x in my car trunk unopened to return once the i7 m17x's came out... they told me it would be a return without restock fees etc since I bought "up". Considering all the throttling issues, I am not sorry I spent the extra to get the new R2 refresh and that juicy RGB LED screen!
it's taken two tries to get Dell to email me the UPS labels to print out and send it off with, you'd think they didn't want it back : ) -
I had to go through a week of hell making calls daily to get them to send me the UPS label via e-mail. What I learned was that they were not linking my systems service tag with the return authorization. So if you aren't getting a label, make the agent check for that and ensure that its done otherwise you will be in label hell like I was. I wish this damn system would go into boxing already, I'm getting extremely impatient as each hour passes and I hate using this desktop
-
Sounds like an excuse to always have more than one notebook.
-
Nah I'll keep waiting. Are you still in the build stage too? I read some of your earlier posts in this thread and it seems like your system was delayed for a real long time before with the ATi cards. I wonder if there's a hold up again?
-
I should have my system on the 5 of feb.
-
Hello everybody
I'm a lucky one, I've ordered a M15X but the Joker made me change my mind with his RGB Led so I now I'm waiting my M17X for the 8 feb -
Yea, after reading all these posts I seem to be convinced to get the RGB display too. For less than $100 more I guess it's worth it.
-
Yes still in build. When I ordered my second M17x with ATI cards it didn't get into the build stage for two weeks. That's when I met my current EPP rep so he knows me from that experience.
Since this went into build right away I don't expect the same delay. -
Just checked mine, still in build. It's good to hear they aren't anticipating delays but what happened when I ordered my first M17x back in Oct. are still in the back of my head. If it ships on Feb 1st as it still says I'll be happy and of course even more if it comes early!

www.hidevolution.com
I have no idea why they're not letting me know the order number. It shouldnnt be internal info. I have to right to know what it is because I'm paying for the machine and want to have up to date info on the status of my build!
I've told them this, but they just say "sorry, but please repect our companies policy".
That's like shipping an item and refusing to tell the customer their tracking number!
