Mandrake and joker - are you still in building?

Has anyone else progressed past building? (I know one guy has)

 

Just received my exchange letter today, laptop ships tomorrow!!

Sorry I should have been more clear. I have a wonderful freezing/skipping M17 R1. I worked out an exchange for the R2 (mentioned in another thread) and when it was ready to be shipped I would recieve an exchange letter.
That letter arrived today with a purolator tracking number.

Im in canada however so normally purolator tracking is useless as it says "in transit in US" till the delivery day LOL.

I highly doubt I will be first, shipping is normally a 10 day thing with dell to Calgary.

 

....Me as well.... still in build.... having the m15x in my trunk to return to Dellienware tomorrow is torture on top...

well my m1730 is getting replaced by a very nice m17x, can anyone tell me what nvidia cards this is?

Still in build this morning. If it doesn't hit boxing by Wednesday it might miss the ETA.

With the discounts yesterday I think there were a lot of familiar faces around here who went ahead and purchased one. Would be nice if those folks identified themselves.

 

Do you have any idea why we're stuck in build for so long? What's the hold up?

So for me, same day purchased and in Build Stage already. I'm going to see if I can get it expedited.

 

I was just thinking back since the M17x was released. I've ordered this system 5 times now. Definitely a record for myself with the same system.

1st - Bought and sold 3 months later with the 4870 arrival.
2nd - Canceled the order because it missed it's ETA twice.
3rd - Bought and sold 2 months later right before CES.
4th - ETA 2-2
5th - ETA 2-17

I bought the M1730 twice. That's the closest I've come in the past. Who knows, there may be a 6th with dual 5870s.

 

Still in the build stage for all my orders.

Nope, I'm going to let them ship it so I can play around with it and then send it back. Well I'm debating doing that anyway. I might just cancel it on Monday and instead wait on the real one that's due on 2/16.

 

I sent an e-mail to my resolution specialist and cc his supervisor to see if he could expedite my order. I hope so. * fingers cross *

Check it tonight. I've had a couple orders go into boxing on a Sunday night. One even shipped.

nope not yet. I am still in production. I made a tread on alienware M17x eta Just to see if anyone close to being shipped.

 

I'm still in build. I emailed my rep to see if there are any updates.

You know it! I think it will be like men who's wives have just had a baby... we'll sit back and crow, smoke a cigar and reflect on life when we get that boxing notification!

 

I'm just telling myself it's going to take the estimated time to build mine and even a possible delay or two. That way I'm not upset if it does happen and really happy if it ships early. Who knows how many people got a R1 when they were trying to clear the old parts out and are in front of us...

 

A day or two no biggie, a week or two I will get pissy, beyond that.... I dunno. I might get crazy in the head then....

 

If you do get a delay they up the date by a week. Doesn't mean it will take that long but it's also possible that you may get another delay. I had 4 delays for my original M17x order back in Oct. and that's how it worked.

 

I don't understand why Dell would put something on their website for order if they can't even meet the demand. It's the same thing as a pre-order at this point.

Looks like Dell either screwed up my order or there's a shortage of parts and they can't meet the ETA.

 

They would delay it, not cancel it. Have you called them yet?

 

On the phone with them now. They have been canceling orders, they did the same for some that have Studio XPS 1645 orders.


edit: lady told me it's my retarded rep. He canceled and replaced the order for some reason. She says she doesn't know why he did that yet.

 

If they delay it for more than 2 weeks, i will be really angry and i will write them a letter telling them how angry i am. I didnt pay premium to wait.

 

If there is a 2 week delay ill jump off a high building with a note attached to my chest saying, "Dell lied to me"

 

Haha well since my original order got canceled, I got the lady to get rid of my 2nd order while she was at it. I asked her if there were any part delays and she said, "some components for the Alienware's and Inspirons are going EOL right now so that could be why". I wonder if that could mean the 4870's are near EOL?

Anway, I've only got my newest order left (the one in my sig), hopefully that goes through okay though I have to wait 2 weeks longer now.

 

That was the original plan anyway when you ordered the second one, right?

BTW, it's probably the R1 parts going EOL.
