*OFFICIAL* M17x Order Status Thread...

The entire time while our graduation occurs tomorrow I will be thinking of the m17x. I mean..high school diplomas for for noobs and trolls...

 

i've gotten different responses depending on the rep i got one said my proc and vid card was delayed another said nothing was wrong etc etc, and another said it was getting ready to ship so i have no clue really.

 

i hate all you boxing and shipping folks

 

My rep never got back to me. They finish at 6 and I e-mailed her at 1. So yeah, currently my order that was placed again has been cancelled so yay...good times.

lol, yeah, it's pretty retarded right now. Can't understand how a company can mess up so much. Not just with the first cancellation, but trying to charge me again, then placing the order again and it getting cancelled again? Nice... ><

 

Hey guys I have been reading a lot in the threads. I have had some problems with time as well. I ordered mine on Wednesday the 3rd, it cleared payment and all the other checks on the Friday the 5th, then it was in pre-production until today. Or so I was told, when I logged on to check it today it said that my order was cancelled so I called them up and sent an email and Dell got back with me today to tell me that it hasn't been cancelled they were just having a problem with their website and that my order was indeed in production now. I just want my Laptop now!!! Hahahah!

I just ordered the basic version and will upgrade as and when I see fit since EVERYTHING is upgradeable! Gotta love it.

Want opinions, when I get this M17x, should I do a unboxing video and put it on YouTube? So far I've only seen pictures, but I'm sure there is going to be people making unboxing videos very soon. So mine will probably be late, but that doesn't really matter to me. ;P

 

If I can get someone to film, I will make a video. Or i could just do it myself...opening+filming. But that wouldn't been to good IMO. Sleeepy..wait..sleeyo...bah no1 even knows what your name is!

Great news. It shouldn't be so long till you get yours then.

The customer service reps don't seem to have access to the system that really has information about if there's a problem. I contacted close to a dozen reps either by phone or email and none of them had the real story about what the problem with my order was. Most of them gave conflicting stories too.

 

I'm getting one of my friends to film for me, so it all works out.

 

If mine doesn't ship today I don't think I'll be able to take all the videos/pictures over the weekend.

Lucky you with your cameraman. Ok this is TOTALLY off topic but does any1 have an article I can just put in brother's face so he stops raving about macs. Literally 15 mins ago, look at this...if i put four fingers on the touch pad..it will find stuff. If i put three, it will re size the windows to fit the screen. I might kill him...

just tell him most of us don't care what a touch pad can do, it's the rest of the system we care about.

 

I'm annoyed about the mounting hardware for the 2nd HDD not being included.
I've just sent Dell an email requesting that they either confirm in writing that my system will include all the necessary hardware to install a 2nd HDD or alternatively cancel the order. In the UK we only get 7 days of cooling off period.
If they cancel I'll just reorder with 2 160Gbs,
For £3343 I really expect the mounting hardware to be included.

 

I'm really pissed off,

Checked my status on the phone, my order has been cancelled and re-entered "processing" with a new order number and a EDD of 7/17 instead of 7/9.
I'll try to call DELL later when I get a chance cause I'm overseas

scared the hell out of me, you have ordered practically the same specs as me so figure what happened to you is happening to me so i had to check. No change for me though still going on the 16th day now in Build Stage

 

guys listen to this. Well first it said it was shipped today then it says it will ship in 3-5 days since thats what i have. But it says estimated delivery date is two days from now on saturday when i thought you guys said fedex didnt deliver on saturday

Fedex does deliver on saturdays but for a fee which dell does not pay (usually)

 

so how is it estimated on saturday if they dont usually pay the fee? are they paying it this time?

 

Was it a computer? Did they actually say Saturday's date or did the computer just say in 2 days?

I would really be surprised (but happy for ya) if they said it would be there "June 20". If they said two days they could mean two buisness days.

Did they give you a TCN? If so check that with FedEx. I would believe what FedEx says. If there website says 6/20, then I believe it. It should show what town it's in.

Ordered 6/7, went into boxing 6/16, and it just shipped!! I'm so excited! Got the 3-5 day shipping, though, so it will still be a few more days. Can't wait!!

 

You're saying you're gonna configure yours with just the resolution and SLI upgrade? I almost did that, but I suggest upgrading to the 6 meg cache processor before SLI. Check the games you play to see how well SLI scales, I'd be willing to bet you bottleneck at the CPU more than you benefit from SLI on the GTX 260's. If you can manage, do all 3

Ok well I was close to ordering but not even sure if the screen is dual lamp.. also how do i get 4% discount + 7% for a total of 11% discount when ordering? I can get the student discount but what about the 4%? I signed up for the dell preferred account so wheres my 4% discount.
