    Hello guys!
    2nd post here at NBR.....

ordered (originally Tuesday at 9:24AM through EPP)
    cancelled....
ordered today with updated/fixed nameplate & CompleteCare warranty.

I spoke with an EXTREMELY nice EPP sales rep named David today on the phone and he even placed me back up in the production queue as I originally was before I cancelled. Fixed EVERYTHING. I told him that some people on the forums had the same nameplate and warranty problems through EPP as myself, and he told me to to tell you all to contact him immediately at [email protected] and he can fix the issues.
I hope that helps anyone, Clauss??

Nice to finally sign up to NBR, please lemme know If i did anything I wasnt supposed to on here.
    :)

Hey guys, I was just wondering if I will have any problems with my Q9000 with games like Crysis, Fallout 3, and Far Cry 2??
I know its not the best cpu for games out there but I could really use the extra cores for school (Cad, photoshop) and a little futureproofing, and I can always upgrade later if i needed to....
But will my rig at least be able to play new stuff fairly well?
    Thanks yas!
    :)

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place... ??

Mine is marked as being "In Production" but as I've seen in the past with Dell... that means absolutely nothing.

It does mean something - you now have a place in the que awaiting for it to be built!

Yeah. When I ordered from Alienware in the past, I was "in production" until it went right to "delievered". My experiences with Dell and Alienware both have been "never trust their site".

I tried to order a Dell PowerEdge 1950 before, and it went all the way to "Shipped" to "Canceled". When I called to find out why... they CPUs I ordered were out of stock, the rep said I'd need to redo my order entirely due to the mistake. It never shipped, but their system thought it did and they weren't able to fix the mistake. $4,500 server, too.

    That won't change until shipped.

Once your system starts building, the phone order status will give more details (Kitting, Build, Testing, Boxing).

Unfortunately that is, again, only an option available in the USA (and Canada?).
But not for the Neterlands (or perhaps entire Europe?)

    Listen.....

The reason for the phone status saying in process is because we are all just sitting in the que.

Once your system moves into Kitting/Building, the phone order status will say one of the 5 stages.

I think if you pay with DPA it lasts in "pre-production" a very short period of time (as in seconds). There's nothing to verify since your payment method is already verified.

I called dell today and talked to a CS guy about my order to see if i could uncover anything about shipping dates/etc. But my processor i ordered with it, the T9600 is on backorder, dont know about others. So who knows what that means for EDD. Also the guy was mad nice and upgraded mine to next day shipping. Bittersweet.

Are there any European/Dutch buyers here?
I ordered mine on the the 3rd of June and since yesterday my status is in pre-production (waiting for components) and it still is. It is a bit frustrating to see that nothing seems to be happening.

And I'm so bored of waiting, waiting, waiting.........

UK buyer here. Pre-production stages does say this " Pre-Production time varies and may take up to 14 days." Be patient. =)

This info, about those 14 days, isn't on the Dutch DELL-website.
Only that pre-production time depends on the delivery time of the components. I guess there won't be any updates during the weekend.

Im wondering: are these systems assembled in Ireland or Poland or perhaps Taiwan or something?

All the other Dell systems come from Malaysia. I'm assuming this is the same but I've never order from a different country. ;)

Which other systems? For the USA perhaps?

Because DELL had an assembly plant in Limerick Ireland. But I think this has been transferred to Poland. This might be for the European market only though.

The M1730 has been assembled in Poland btw.

Don't know about the m17x though.

My M1730 said "Made in Malaysia" on the box and yes that could be for just the US.

Edit: Maybe this is the reason for higher costs in other countries? More overhead with production?

Might be. Besides I ams sure salaries in Poland are higher than in Malaysia.
Also DELL is charging about 30 Euros for shipment by UPS.

Here are the locations of factories an regions served by them:

Limerick, Ireland and Lodz, Poland = Europe
Penang, Malaysia = Rest of world
    Xiamen, China = Asia
Somewhere, India and Brazil = Desktop manufacturing only for India/ not sure about Brazil (not sure what region this covers).

I am 100% positive that the US laptops come from the Penang, Malaysia plant.

My 3.06ghz 35 watt t9900 just arrived from ebay. Paid 425 for an OEM version. I am very happy with ordering it with the p8600 and replacing it with a t9900, I think this 3ghz+ dual core will be all the power I need.

I plan next month to get 2x 120GB OCZ Vertex drives and put them in Raid 0.

Then the next month I'll upgrade my single gtx 260m to a single gtx 280m.

If I'm happy with the performance I will stop there. If I think I could benefit greatly from getting a qx9300 than I'll sell the t9900 and go quad core the month after that.

It's nice bein able to slowly build up the laptop and not have to get everything at one time.

Yea after shipping that 1 will be slightly more expensive then what I paid but its basically the same thing. Quality processor right there. If you aren't gonna overclock its superior to the x9100. After you under volt the t9900 it will run ice cold.

it would be cool to like hook the CPU up to the aluminum and cool it with like the lid ...since aluminum has the highest heat dissipation
