Dellienware nailed it for my money.
I am hoping that the new cooling system actually works as good as it looks and will eliminate the need for a chill mat.
First time I've ordered a gaming rig this early in the release process, especially after a redesign, so fingers crossed!
Now comes the waiting . . .![]()
-
Congrats! We're all sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting.
-
Any one ordered in the UK ..if any, what is your EDD??
-
Is this NB10E-GT1 code correct? Thought it would be NB9E. -
It's only 16 pages, just read through them.
-
Get a feeling that Europe will get them late (again).
I ordered on June 3rd and have an EDD of July 15th, while cutomers in USA who order today still get an EDD of July 10th.
Getting more and more frustrated with this. -
EDDs are just that...EDDs. I'd just wait it out and see who gets them first. If people who ordered after you get their M17x before you, then make a rant. =p Until then, the race is on!
-
Yea, you're right. Let's just wait what happens the following week.
-
Dunno. I copied from my confirmation email. What is the difference?
-
Megacharge Custom User Title
NB10E is correct, NB9E is for the 9 series, 9800M GTX, 9800M GT, 9800M GTS etc. -
Ok, it wasn't on my confirmation, but this might mean that it are 2 x 1 GB cards.
I took this from the Eurocom site:
2GB GDDR3; SLI; 2x 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M; 16x PCIe; DX10; MXM 3.0b; NB10E-GT1 -
Megacharge Custom User Title
NB10E-GT1 is the 260M and NB10E-GT2 is the 280M
and for example NB9E-GTX is the 9800M GTX.
Edit: I actually think it would sound cooler if Nvidia would just market their cards like that... " Oh dude I just got 2 NB10E-GT2's in SLI, Pwnage!"
-
NB---= notebook
9 --= 9 series 10----= 10 series aka GTX 280/260
GT1/GT2 could be their model number -
I hope to see some order status updates from you guys today, also from European/Dutch customers.
Let's see if Dell is working on it. -
I just rang Dell again. I really like bugging them. ^^ Apparently, my order is in production and there is no backorder on the T9800 processor. The guy also said that if there is a backorder on any part, they're restocked within 2-3 days.
I also asked about where the laptops are being built and he said they're using three production plants for Europe: Ireland, Poland and China. Apparently mine's being built in Poland.
He also, once again, confirmed to me that the delivery date is JUST an estimation generated by the online order system and that the laptop should be with me "much sooner" than that.
Remember, I'm a UK resident so the above is only really relevant to European customers. US customers could be facing horrible backorder problems, production in South Africa which could then delay delivery until August! =p -
yea dell gets shipments like ALOT... also they would make sure they didnt run out for the Launch ( they would stock up )
if i was them .... -
Well, thats is good news, somehow. But did your status change already?
When did you order yours btw? -
Huh? South Africa? If this is an attempt to make a joke it doesn't make sense.
-
I ordered mine on June 2nd and I'm still in phase 2, according to the online status update.
It was kind of a hypothetical situation joke. Nevermind. -
Yeah, mine hasn't moved into Build yet.
Still "In Production" online/"Order Processing" phone status....... -
This thread needs a bumping...I know sleey is probably calling every hour.
-
HOW DID YOU KNOW!!!!!
Waiting for this is painful. I admit, I have a problem. Next post will begin like this:
"Hi, I'm sleey0 and I'm an AW Addict"
-
Ok, finally I put an end to the 3 month long dillema on which notebook to buy and going crazy over reviews and all! Placed order for the new m17x thru. my friend in US. Space black case and the base HW configuration - any upgrade is going to be an overkill for my wallet and my current rig
! I went way ahead of my initial budget of 1600 - 1800 dollars, but hope it will be worth it. Sacrificed portability and a few $$$ over the m15x, but better build quality and better hardware here. Hopefully they will ship it before my friend leaves US.
Order Date : 6/4/2009
Order Status :In Production
Estimated Delivery Date : 7/9/2009
Waited to post here until I got payment confirmation; didnt want to repeat my fate with NP8662
-
Congrats Comskian!
-
Danke
keeping an eye out in youtube for further videos of m17x from E3 ... Also waiting for the detailed review from team NBR!
-
Congratulations Comskian, and welcome to the waiting game!
(Mine is still in Process btw, per web page and phone) -

@ DikkieDirk i remember you telling me you got a 10% discount, how did you manage to get this discount?, I was just talking to a dell sales rep and he said he could not negotiate the price with me or give me a discount, what did you say to them to get it?
-
I went with him through all the options and at the end he told me the grand-total that I had to pay incl. shipping. I told him I wanted to think about it, and he then asked me why. I told him the total sum I had to pay was a bit on the high side and then he asked me what I had in mind. So I asked for a discount of 15%. He then went to talk with one of his supervisors and came back with 7%, bit I didnt agree. Finally we agreed on 10%!
Thats all! Sorry for the long story.

Ok cool thanks, it gives me something to work with
, good luck with your laptop Dikkie, hopefully it gets to you quickly and without problems!
-
Thanks! Yes I hope it gets here soon, but I'm still in pre-production phase.
Where are you from btw? Europe or USA? -
Megacharge Custom User Title
Neither Im from Canada. -
When i call the number (800-433-9014) I only get that my notebook is 'processing' but when i look at the order details page it says 'in production'. (It's been out of pre-production since last thursday.)
Has anyone got anything different when calling the number?
PS. Both the number and the page give a delivery date of July 1st. -
I think the NB10E-GTX1 is the 280's.
From my Order Confirmation email..
-- Video Card --
-- Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 280M, 2GB SLI® Enabled
-- [ 320-0762]
From my online Order Details page...
320-0762 SLI Dual 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce (NB10E-GTX1) -
Yep. The phone status will not change until we are moved into "actual" production (Build). We are still just sitting in the que.
Once we move into production, the phone status will update to the stages. (The website doesn't have an in-between processing and in production, so it shows in production - if that makes sense
)

Maybe, im pretty sure its the other way around, but i guess we'll find out for sure once you get em and run GPU-Z.
Hopefully GPU-Z can read these cards properly as they are quite new and it might not have been updated yet.

Also when i order my M17x tonight, im not even going to bother checking up on it, the anticipation will be much more exciting thinking within the next 3 or 4 weeks it will just show up at the door.
-
lol... Good luck with that
-
Maybe we can get some other people to check their order confirmation email and find out what the part numbers are for their graphics card combinations. I am being charged for 280's so they better be what's in there.
-
Megacharge Custom User Title
You will get 280's for sure, it could be that dell just messed up on the model numbers, or the original model numbers that were stated by Nvidia and other companies selling laptops for the 280M and 260M were swapped and incorrect. -
This is how they are listed on the Eurocom website:
1GB GDDR3 Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M; 16x PCIe; DX10; MXM 3.0b; N10E-GTX1
2GB GDDR3; SLI; 2x 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M; 16x PCIe; DX10; MXM 3.0b; N10E-GTX1
2GB GDDR3; SLI; 2x 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M; 16x PCIe; DX10; MXM 3.0b; NB10E-GT1 -
yeah right.
-
Megacharge Custom User Title
Ok... ok... so I'll try not to check up on them as best I can. I was about to pull the trigger on an M17x tonight but, I wasn't happy with the measly 50 dollar discount the vocally challenged sales rep offered me. -
ordered one 6/9/2009
estimated delivery 7/10/2009
I will go crazy waiting..... -
Go figure:
Me: Ordered 06/03 EDD 07/15.
Something is very wrong here!
-
just chill out they are saposed to be shipped out before july even gets here
-
They give everybody at least 7%. Anything less is unacceptable.
-
Congrats! Did you post your config anywhere?
-
I still think the US customers will get it first.
Edit: I really need to start doing multi-quote. -
I just tried the order status line and I got the usual "your order is being processed". Normally after that the response from the voice recording gives me a snotty response like "need anything else?" This time it told me to hold on they were going to send me to a rep to give me the details. I actually hung up before that happen but will try again when I get to work.
-
Sure! Like always.
