16th day in production, I live in Canada and I'm just glad that my order hasn't been canceled for some reason. Hopefully it will ship sometime soon, as I don't even know if I'm in boxing or not because Canadians cannot call in for their order status.

As you have probably read, many of us have had our orders cancelled and automatically reordered. Personally, I think they should call you and ask you if you want to reorder before just doing it.

I agree. I wonder what is going on? I just posted in the Dell forums and had this reply to my post, perhaps this will help some of us.
"That often happens if there a number of items ordered simultaneously. They do that to facilitate getting the items that are available out to you straight away. The others will follow.
The delivery date they give is always the outside limit. Usually things get delivered much earlier. Of course I have no idea if Alienware's M17x is made to order in each case or mass produced." -
The reason I was given for my reorder was that the TV Card that I ordered with the notebook had the wrong SKU on the website. I don't even think you can get it with the M17x now. Anyway, they split the order into two parts. The notebook and the tv card.
I hope they get everyone's order fixed soon and the notebooks out to people. -
The reason they gave me was an internal error. Odd eh? They didn't even e-mail me to let me know it had been re-ordered. Bad customer service.

Got mine! Can't wait to experiment with it. I love the 1920x1200 screen, blu-rays look great. I'm not used to such a high resolution, I love it.

do you notice any major back light bleeding with your screen? -
The bottom edge is definitely brighter than the rest of the screen. I don't think it will be enough to annoy me much though, but it's definitely there.

Anybody else still in production? 17th day for me and I have no way to check if its in boxing or not because I live in Canada and we have no automated order status update phone line or anything. I really hope it gets here sometime this week!

Just says "In Production", I really don't understand why all these other countries (meaning non-us) are getting ripped off and we can't even get our own custom nameplate, none the less check our order status. Meh, I really don't care as long as I get my laptop

Yes dikkiedrik, it's the same price for the whole europe, that's why I went with the base config+1200p screen. However, by ordering it by phone (dell France) I've been able to get a custom nameplate and my EDD is supposed to be 3/07. Don't have any order number yet though, that's worrying me ^^

Did u get an order-confirmation yet with an EDD on it? You get this after ur payment has been cleared. -
I ordered it last wednesday. There's a been quite a mess with the order and payment since I ordered it through a society to avoid the tax, the rep was supposed to send me the order confirmation by mail but I haven't recieved it yet - that's why I'm not sure about the EDD, she told me it's gonna be the 3rd July though.
Oh, and I got a 7% discount, too

Well maybe they are just producing a couple of M17x's to keep the European customers happy (if still possible).
Your payment has to clear first before you get an order confirmation.
Did you get an order received notification BTW? You can use the customer number and booking reference to check the order-status. -
I tried to get a personalized nameplate but they wouldn't give me one, I live in Wales... Also they did cancel on me and I am getting the basic model! Don't tell me they didnt have the stock in...

ye when i got mines ordered last week, (im frm UK, scotland btw) it gave me a link to check the progress when i done that it say that it was cancelled so i emailed the guy that sold me it, he said
"Don't worry about the email sir......it's been taken care of. The order will be into production by close of business."
ill phone tomorrow and find out whats the crack! -

i ordered on 10 or 11 of june . i dont remember exactly. i ordered from UK dell. my estimated time of delivery is 22 of july and it is in build phase! my EDD was 30 of june until previous friday. so dont have great expectations for you EDD. I hope you will be better but i doubt that.
its the first time i enter this thread but i already have seen most of us are from EU. this is absolutely logical.. -

Thats so weird that your EDD was the 22 of July and you ordered on the 10 or 11, I ordered on the 3rd and my EDD was on the 8th, 7+ days after I ordered should not have granted you a 14+ day EDD! But Monday will bring a host of answers from Dell for a lot of us I grant you. -

yes take some answers ! i feel like tha only one trying here. by the way the answer i got from one rep was missing parts. the answer i got from an other one was the cancelled orders. so what?
by the way US Dell reps work on weekends. Uk ones dont. this is just another proof of the different behaviour of US to EU dell
i would be very suprised to see them confess that US orders took priority.
as for the named engraving template as i have posted that before, the answer i got is that the people of the production decided not to support this option. this happened with previous m17 too anyway. thanks again alienware
And dont worry. i informed one of them that many eu customers are aware why this is happening. order software artificial intelligence and bow sh.t . who they think we are. stupid gamers standing in from of the pc the whole day long ? -

yes he is. what they deserve is a massive cancelling of orders. but i guess no one wants to do this just in case he receives his m17x on time and may lose his queue. In addition this will be for Dell's Alienware's benefit.
