*OFFICIAL* M17x Order Status Thread...

Wait wait wait...how the hell can you order on the 22nd and have a EDD of the 8th of July? When I ordered mine on the 3rd my first EDD was the 8th of July, its been rebooked to the 22nd and now my EDD is the 23rd of July? Can you ask your Sales Rep that please? As I don't think I will get an email from mine about it.

 

I will email and ask him....but i think like a lot of the emails i sent they will go without a reply!!! I emailed asking him about the screen and if he could confirm that the one i ordered will have the dual bulb CCFl as per the Comprehensive Specifications pdf but still no answer. When i phone if they do actually answer they always say "i will check it out and get back to you"...but never do!!!
The real pain for me is that if they are lying about my EDD, or are unable to make the deadline then i will have to cancel the order as i will be traveling to Riyadh to start a new job and will not be returning for at least four months!!! Initially when i ordered the laptop i explained the situation and he assured me it would be delivered before or on the 3rd. So i will have to wait and see what happens!! I will let you know if he replies to my email!!!

what do you see on order status? that it is cancelled?

by the way my order date is 10 of june and my EDD is 22 of july!!! in production phase will seems to last ages!

 

Ok just to clear it up. My EDD is the 23rd of July, not the 27th. It has been cancelled twice. It isn't in production yet but it should be today if all goes well and hopefully the EDD goes down. Still waiting on word back from my rep.

 

and what if it goes into production? i told you mine is in production for days now. 24th of july thats the date for all of us. by the way i think reps are aware of our complaints and dont answer the chats and of course they know who ordered m17x... one more point.

it looks like they are trying to press more people buying it but when they see you have already done this fault and you know the order status then they just leaving you ... thanks dell europe once more

my notebook cooler is going to get too much dust until the item that it is going to cool arrives.

 

The Alienware has landed, finally got it this morning! This is the best laptop I have ever seen as far as detail and the quality is just amazing.

 

I went to the boxing stage last Thursday. There's a chance it can get here this week.

by the way customer service told me that demand has exceeded supply. ok so then some people may have it in europe according to customer service.

My m17x has been sitting in the local FedEx center since Saturday. I was hoping even though I had 2-day shipping I would get it today since it was already here, but no such luck.

I'm actually really apprehensive (more like worried) now after reading the LCD threads!!

 

its late now my friend. just take it and see your screen and tell us results. i hope its ok as not all of them have this light bleeding or it is reduced ( according to US users).

i am more than worried if i will ever take it before august. this screen issue looks too far for me and eu customers. Europe customers If you dont know you have a 7 days returning policy from europe Dell. this is officially from Dell service. i was telling them that i may cancel my order due to the huge delay and they told me: please accept the delivery and then you can return it in 7 days with a full refund. return when ? in august? they dont understand that the delays is the problem? these people are crazy and more than stupid.

 

Simtronix... if it was UPS you would have had it today. When they recieve it, they deliver it. Fedex wont until the day it's due. They're the pits. Mine wont come until tomorro either. And it's at the local center too.

My order went from canceled to Production phase today aswell. EDD 29/07 i'm happy to be now in production but still over 1 month to wait

 

What does that have to do with my experience with customer 'care'? I went round and round with those people for the first part of this month and never got anywhere. How can you dog on people without knowing what their experience is?

My original order (june 2nd) was cancelled and reordered with an EDD of July 13th (or 20th if you believe that last letter i got). The only reason it's coming in this week is that it got expadited. And that wasn't because of any interaction I had with customer care but instead was because of a email I wrote to dell management explaining my experiences with customer support. (Fortunately, they record those conversations.)

Sure - my notebook is coming in early - but I suffered for it. At least enough to get someone's attention. If you have had trouble with Dell customer support, I can sympathise but you won't catch me telling you that yours wasn't bad enough to compare with mine.


BTW - the EDD dates for pretty much everyone's who already got theirs were ALL in July. Dell/Alienware padded them by a few weeks in case something went wrong. Chances are you will all get yours at least a week or two before the EDD date.

so all eu customers are around 20-29 of july. and all of us in build phase for the eyes only. as expected

 

Oh yeah. I don't doubt that something is defintely wrong with the way they are treating y'all. I don't understand it. I am sure you are going through the same crap we went through with customer 'care' too. It's an-all-around dissatifying experience.

Original Delivery Date (3-5 Day Shipping): 7/20/2009
Upgraded Delivery Date (Next Day Shipping): 7/13/2009

Invoice Total: $2,228.52 (free shipping, no tax, service member discount)

Please note, when I asked for upgraded shipping on 6/17/2009 (they owed it to me due to problems I had before the M17x even launched), the e-mail I got from my CS rep (Indian) said that he also put in an expedite request to move my laptop up in the Que at the factory. I was skeptical that this had any real effect on the timing of things, but this is the e-mail I got from him today (which is the same day I went into boxing stage)...

I am happy to inform you that the Expedite request that we sent for the Order : [*********] had been approved and your Order has been moved to the Final stages of production .

I didn't ask for the expedite request, but he didn't seem to have any problems giving me upgraded shipping or this, so I say it's worth a try for everyone. Please also note the time difference from when he put in the expedite request (6/17/2009) and it was actually "approved" (6/22/2009). Hope this helps, and good luck to everyone still waiting on theirs (EU peeps too )!

I just got off the phone with a Dell Representative and got the low-down on my order status. Here's the full info for comparison:

Order Date: 06/15/09
"In Production" Date: 6/15/09
Preliminary Ship Date: 07/07/09
Delivery Date: 07/13/09
Currently in "the final stages of Production".
Should be going into Boxing tomorrow.
Specs: See Signature
Final Price (3-5 day shipping, University Discount): $3,304.05

The representative said it will likely be in the Boxing stage starting tomorrow or wednesday. With that being said, he estimated the actual delivery date to be sometime between the middle and end of next week.

One more tid-bit of information that he mentioned was that it will be shipping from North Carolina and that they all ship (on the preliminary ship date) from the East Coast of the United States.

I can't wait!

I don't know if there are any securities in the EDD because I was told when my order was confirmed that the EDD was 21/07 and Friday I got updated as 29/07

 

hey, yo mine shipped today!! Getting it delivered tomorrow.
I ordered on 6/08/2009 went in production the same day, was in a building stage till 19th. That wasn't so bad.
I hope you EU customers get yours sooner.

 

Yeah, I do have the option to call a US rep through the EPP, but when I did, they informed me that they can't do anything with my shipping options and that it's all in the customer service department's hands. Hopefully this gives the EU peeps some piece of mind, cuz I got no special treatment from the US reps. The reps in India have had some limitations when I've dealt with them in the past, but I couldn't get anyone in the US to change my shipping method. They wouldn't even take my order over the phone, I had to do it through the service member's site (AAFES).

 

Yeah - they are all over the place. There were people two weeks ago that got theirs moved up a week - except for those that got cancelled/reordered. Now it seems to be the opposite. The dates seem to be moving toward the end of July.

As of today my order is still in "pre-production". I have been told though twice today that my order is in production...so I guess we will have to see what tomorrow brings. I am glad for all you guys who are getting their Orders delivered!
