    the same for me and UK Dell.

    i was keeping my mouth shut for days as you can see. according to my rep my laptop has been shipped on wednesday. my online order status is still 22 of july. i contacted customers service and they told me its still in productionn and EDD still 22 of july. someone is lying guys and i dont believe its the customer service. I dont know if the reps have been told by their managers to say so or someone in production line lies. I am waiting for an email from my rep who needs 3 hours to figure out. it looks to me like something is going on in the background. The situation is getting worse.

    Dell starts to lie to us to keep us away from cancelling the orders.. In addition the customer service after mentioning my current EDD of 22 july they also added one paragraph saying that due to demand this EDDmay delay. delay even further?

    dude the online status on EDD is the latest... usually they come way before, sometimes up to 4-5 days early but they update u with an email

    what latest means? uptodate or thats is the latest to be updated? you confused me here.

    update with email never happened to me even until the build phase and UK dell. i always had to check myself. so you say the rep is lying? Thus even though she has a link checking my specific order after she told me it has been shipped she tells me check you online status using the customer id and order id. the worst of it is that i feel like a fool believing this s_it.

    and customer service just checks the online order status? they dont have more info? it looks like that anyway because they reply almost immediately.

    as i said before my online order status still says EDD 22 of july and build phase. so two stages before what my rep says. and of course i dont have anything to track my order if it really shipped.

    so you can see in my case that its actually 4 weeks before the current EDD. even my first EDD was 30 of june. i am really tired!

    Except from the further delay that may follow (this is from previous email) you can see that it looks like any m17x is in build phase right now. it looks like organized to me. dont you think?

    its not a pain. i feel like an idiot and you know something? i may cancel because they lie to me and not because of the waiting time itself. This is unacceptable.

    As for the Dell and alienware they were made in US if i am not wrong. So this is normal and expected. What is not normal and unaccepted is that they have put the order page for the m17x at the same time on EU and US website. if you cant support it why the f___ you make orders available at the same time? yes you know the answer. of course its to make us order and wait. just to ensure more orders. the period that something comes out is the period that the most orders are made. Dell as every big company out there has even psychologists making advertisements and and are specialsits on this.

    well you found one that you cant make fun of. i think they didnt expect me to contact customer service after my rep ensured me that my order is shipped. you fools!

    and still no answer from my rep. are they investigating a crime or something? they are just trying to find a new logical or not explanation and make me feel better for the waiting time.

    well if i dont have mine by the 7th of july, my original edd ima cancle mine and use that money to....wow i have no idea... buy a better tv? Gah why cant they just treat all contries fairly.

    because US is and will always be the biggest market at least for Dell. so satisfaction of US customers is their main target. Good for them

    and i said several times we hate Dell policy not americans. on the contrary i am happy for those who got it already even though some of them didnt know how to use it. you know who i mean . :p i think Kageromero misstyped it.

    My EDD was still 13 July until my M17x shipped. The Customer Service people can only tell you what their software says so if the website says 22 July then expect them to tell you that. Reps have access to much better information so I would tend to believe them.

    Chill out dude, you guys are getting the good end of the beating stick. Let us Canadians vent a bit (stating you hate Americans was not needed tho.). I've been waiting on a laptop from dell since the 5th of May, the first two laptop's I've tried to order has either issues with the order, or they changed specs on me w/o informing me, and to top it off I've just been pushed back 2 more week for my M17x. I've been tossed around in cust. service queues, and have had broken promises of call back. It's total BS. ty Indian customer service, and lack of components shouldn't be our fault, but we have to wait longer. I've placed my order on the 6th of June and now have to wait till the 27th of July. Thats whats garbage.

    I dont support AA sentiment, hell I am American myself living in Cardiff I just think that Dell needs to get their act together there are TONS of people in Europe who ordered in the first few days of the release of the M17X but it seems that people in the States who ordered at the same time or after are getting theirs weeks before most people in the EU, that fact can't be denied. There is no need for swearing or anything else in here people or speculation. Alot of frustration is being vented that much is certain, lets just chill out until we have solid reasons for what is going on. We know for a fact that they have a backorder on the screens. Thats part of the Delay, all of our EDD's in Europe have the possibility of being pushed back, we don't know what is going to happen and hypothesising about the future won't really help attitudes much, what may happen or what might happen is a lot different from what will happen and that, at the moment, is still up in the air. Lets just all take a chill pill. Myself included.

    Sorry about my earlier statement. I have lots of friends who are american but in my opinion what dell is doing is unjust. They are taking parts that should be used to create the laptops for people who orderd earlier but instead are sending to america for people who ordered yesterday. Sorry getting angry at the americans here but when you play halo a lot you get a bad image of americans. Seriously half the people on it are american and go around insulting people for no reason.

    i hope that is true. what you said about your order is good but i dont believe anything any more until i see it with my own eyes. thanks for support

    you should stop playing games so many hours if games influence your character.

    if you mean me i am always chilled out. i always show things as they are or at least as they seem to be. but you are right. Dell people thinking i am an idiot makes me angry. The reasons may be not known but simple reasons (regarding the facts) are easy to be concluded: missing support for the number of orders (or all of them in europe), lack of parts in europe (while US customers even ordered replacements), priority to US orders (as you said regarding facts about the order date and date of shipment in US and EU)

    and what do you mean exaclty with the screens? that current eu EDDs maybe even more delayed?

    All I know is that my rep keeps saying he is doing all he can and I am giving him his room. We had a good chat on the phone when I called up to order so I don't think he would screw me around since I was one of the first to order this thing through him. Heres to hoping it gets here in the beginning of July *raises glass*

    my EDD is still 8th july, my rep and reported it will not change yesterday. i ordered on 16th and was cancelled re-ordered on 19th of june.. so im pretty happy with my customer service =)

    im from the UK btw

    adrian890 i hope so, and then i can really say something new to my rep as you ordered one week after me and with the same specs. but what ? my rep says its already shipped regardless of the online order status and customer service. still waiting for news and as my rep doesnt work in weekend i will hopefully get an answer on monday.

    and maybe we have the same rep as you ordered via phone you too.

    As for the screens it was either in this thread or the Owner thread, I think sleey0 quoted about it, but then we heard it was included in the EDD anyway so we shouldn't be expecting anymore delays.

    Will be offline for a few days as I am moving and don't have internet set up yet. See you guys in a few.

    My brother wants to order one and we saw that for the same specs than me he would have to pay $100 more.

    The QX9300 was offered at $900 when I purchased it. It's now $1000.

    why not buy with the cpu included in price and buy an oem qx9300 from ebay and then install it on the m17x? thats what i will do. i have the qx9300 bought for the half price never used and in antistatic bag. i havent installed on m17x as there is no m17x yet :)

    It's been 2 days since I purchased a M17x at a Dell Kiosk, and my Credit Card hasn't been charged. Should I chase it up?

    EDIT: Felt it was necessary to add a d to the end of 'purchase'.

    SkitZaY, i would call them and inquire. they may not be charging until it gets to a certain point in the system, but then again, there may be the delay for the banking biz to get to you.
    i.e. clearing house...

    Dell does not charge for the system until it ships. They will verify that enough funds are there, but the actual deduction comes out when it ships.

    more often than not, it has been incorrect, if not down right wrong.

    So my order being cancled and me being given a new order number on the order status page may have been an error and my orignal edd of july 7th may be still there?

    They charge your credit card once the pc ships.

    They took my money on 8th June, order was placed 2nd of June. Still no system. So that information isn't correct.

    Don't know where your ordering from, but every order I have placed in the last 15 years has been this way.

    I am sure I can find it for you on Dell's website if you like.

    EDIT: Just saw that you are in the UK, which might be different from the US.

    Basically, when you place an order, Dell will process the payment by verifying that the funds are available from your method of payment (ie credit card, bank acct, etc). If you check your financial account, it might appear that the charge has been made but it hasn't - the funds have been temporarily accessed and held.

    Once the funds have been verified as available, they will release your order to production.

    Before it ships, an invoice is created and your credit card/bank acct/whatever is charged and the item is shipped.

    What Shuya says is absolutely correct. They took the money from me since 11 of june and also still no machine or any sign of it. I even checked my bank account. They are not there. and its not that they are present in my bank account but not available. This is the english system things work apparently. They are afraid to lose even one pound. i referred that even on previous post. In addition when i said them that i may cancel due to the delay they said: please accept the delivery and if you want you can send it back in 7 days. ok i will send it back in August and pay the cost to return it too. these people are stupid and sick with money.

    Ha ha, sorry Sleey. :p I was told by Dell they would take the money when the system shipped, same as you. But obviously, that was a lie and to be honest, they shouldn't take any money until you actually have the laptop with you.

    They're not gonna spend money making your system to find out you've gone and spent the cash since placing you're order and now can't pay them. So the funds are held in your account. It makes absolutely perfect sense.
