its something I dont really understand..since I usually like what samsung has to offer with their TV displays

 

I just called on my machine and it says its in the build stage , im assuming thats the typical response everyone gets when calling after the order gets cleared from payment.

exactly Quazilla. however things in US are much much better. you may get it in one week. This is good to have you here because i know from the w90 case that you are very helpful.

Sleeyo is there any case to find similar instructions for UK Dell? I am sure we need it more than US customers.

Well mine has the silver chassis, so I imagine that's why mine's cleared the built stage faster than others. I didn't think boxing would take this long though.

 

Lol it doesn't really... it's going through all the orders as they come, boxing, posting, shipping etc.. lengthy process and then insuring their package

Yes the reason he is in Boxing already is because of the screen but hey thats cool either way .

 

Hello everyone. Newbie here. Been reading since I ordered my M17X and found this site. I sent an email to Dell to ask about my status because it has been in build stage for over a week. Got this in return:

Your order is currently in production and has an estimated delivery date of 7/31/2009.

The estimated delivery date you received when you placed your order was based on the most up to date information we had at that time. Occassionally a delay can occur because the product you have choosen or one of our offers is exceptionally popular. Once your order ships you will receive an "Order Shipped" email with the required delivery information for your order. However, the delay on your order is due to the LCD and color being in backorder.


I odered the black case and the WUXGA screen.

 

Yeah Black and WUXGA are a hot number when it comes to this machine and we all may be delayed for quite sometime or maybe not at all since we have no clue when and what they have coming to dell .

 

True. They gave me NO idea of when the parts would be in. They tried to sound like they could still get it to me by the end of July so that is hopeful....

 

If mine takes to the end of July or early August i will be cancelling for sure .

 

I just ordered mine on 27 June so I am behind most of you. They had told me then it would be 31 July and they are supposedly trying to meet that....

 

Guys Dell always gives a long time for the EDD but they usually deliver earlier or right on time. Even my order, which was cancelled twice, is still being delivered on their original EDD.

 

Im ordering soon...Im scared of the screen

Mine has been in the boxing stage since last thursday. I ordered the silver with wxga panel.

 

Black with WXGA screen here, ordered mine on the 3rd of June and its being delivered the 8th of July.

 

Shipped!! I imagine it'll be tomorrow before I get a tracking number though. Hopefully I'll have this by Thursday evening after work. (Day of my birthday; it'd be only fitting. )

It won't take that long trust me! It usually takes 2-3 weeks

 

Got an email from Dell today. Screens are expected by the end of July they say. No news I guess, just confirms what we already knew.

 

Good news for me as that's when I am re-ordering

EDIT: And am hoping the delays are because of them attempting to improve the flaws of the screen...but I doubt it. wishful thinking really

 

With people saying things like they received Emails stating there expecting screens at the end of the month ? ya thats along time lol, basically its the beginning of the month now .

Yeah the early build stages means they have the order and they will get around to it eventually .

Just A quick heads up, Dell did call me today to tell me that my order on June 4th EDD July 10th was pushed back to July 17th, but they could not guarantee that the LCD's would be available. I had already canceled so it was no big, told him I would revisit my reorder in a month or two.
Anyway, I would think the LCD's should be good to go by month's end

 

Id prefer July 17th then July 31 or Early August Things could change any day for all of us so no one knows for certain what Dell is up to and im trying to remain optimistic it will ship before July 31st which is my EDD . If i get towards the end of july though and we hear about more delays then i will probably just cancel at that point.

 

i cant believe that US orders may experience delays too. if they do then its completely ridiculous. even they are stupid not to have stock or i am thinking that they are changing the whole production because of problems or something. Or i am stupid enough not to believe that they had only a few decades of screens for the whole world.

Yea with the LCD's in backorder as well as the black chassy it causes some problems lol

 

i told you a manufacturer is never out of screens for almost a month

they "ran out " around the 22 June and should have hem back by July 15th ?

no, something else is going on

 

Conclusion SOL JK, it might have gone into revision depending on how many laptop were returned due to screen bleeding, dead pixels etc.
