Just a heads up. The laptop is shipping from Nashville TN and is scheduled to get here thursday. Just letting you know that ship time I picked was 3 to 5 days and is 2 days actual shipping time.

 

Cool, we'll I called my Dell rep and asked about the LCD situation... he says he has no information he can share with me right now "wink wink" Moo was definitely right

Just so yas all know. My EDD was changed to July 10th. FedEx says it'll be here tomorrow. (3-5 day shipping)

I ordered my laptop on the 29th and I'm leaving for Vegas on the 24th... the EDD is the 28th... what are the chances of it arriving early? I got the black chassis and I didn't upgrade the screen

 

Probably rather good if you got the standard screen. Some people ordered a week ago and already have there machines shipped to them based on not upgrading the screen.

 

That makes me feel a little better, now as far as gaming how is a single 260GTX and a dual core 2.93 processor going to handle games like crysis and empire total war

 

I ordered on 6th July and my EDD is 22nd July...from Japan. How come my EDD is so early? I took UXGA screen. I suppose this is good news but sounds too good to be true...

 

Well the EDD is just that so it could either be before and after, plus your in japan and maybe they didnt get the amount of orders we did here so getting the WUXGA screen wont an issue since for all you know your the only one who ordered one in japan period .

 

Well, the 7th came and went - no big surprise there since no M17x turned up at my door

a matter of worry though - my order, according to the automated order status system has been cancelled...

wrote big...BIG email to the customer service rep who dealt with my case, asking for clarification...

atm, not happy with Dell

 

Just to let you know I ordered mine on the 19th of June no problems with cancellations etc and it has just gone into delivery today. I'm in the UK.

 

Ordered mine on June 18th and got the initial EDD which was June 29th. Then the EDD changed to July 15th. But the online status shows that it has been shipped out today, hopefully I can get it tomorrow. By the way, I am in Shanghai China which is just 100km away from the Alienware factory.

 

I was wondering why your EDD was so short! ... lol I ordered on the 28th and my EDD was July 31st

OK. Some news here for those expecting a Hi-Res screen.

Remember how the screens were expected by the end of the July? Well, I just got word that they will be getting them tomorrow July 9th. Apparently they just received an email from the manufacturer telling them that a whole shipment is ready.

Well, let's see how that works out. In any case, I was able to talk my way into getting a bonus if I do not get it by my EDD (which hasn't changed). The trick that always works for me is politeness

Good news either way for me I guess.

 

So, at 12:20 P.M. yesterday, FedEx has it documented that the "shipment information was sent to FedEx," by Dell I assume. Since then, no events have been recorded under my order status on fedex.com.

Does anyone have any idea what this means exactly and why it's taking 24 hours to change?

THEY FOUND THIS AFTER ONE MONTH OF ME WAITING! AND NO INFO FOR WHICH COMBINATION CAUSED THIS. SO I MAY REORDER AND THEY CAN CANCEL AGAIN! WHAT DID I ORDER? A LAPTOP FROM AN OTHER PLANET?

Just for the history this is the laptop from an other planet i ordered which i ordered on 10th of June:

cpu: qx9000
gpu: dual gtx280s
1900x1200 screen
2 x 120gb hdds
4gb ddr3 ram
silver chassis

THIS IS DELL UK AND PEOPLE WORKING THERE! GO TO HELL YOU ALL!

i almost cry from my nerves now. its not only the parts but also the combinations now on? the gtx280s dont like the silver chassis in Uk? or the Hdds are very big and cannot live with the qx9000 in uk because they are fighting between each other? what the hell? i am really lauphing now.

PLEASE TELL ME PEOPLE BECAUSE I AM GETTING CRAZY. IS THIS THE MOST STUPID EXCUSE YOU HAVE HEARED OR NOT?

 

if you ordered on july 7th and ur edd is the 20th wow cuz i ordered mine on the 26th of june and my edd is the 27th of july !!! QQ

My laptop is now in the boxing stage and the ESD is the 21st... does it really take that long?

Moved into phase 5 today, finally - Dell fr.

 

My order status was also finally moved into Phase 5 today and got a UPS tracking number. That's a Space Black Q9000, 2x GTX280 SLI and 1920x1200 WUXGA screen. EDD has vanished from the status page. I ordered June 2nd. I don't think I'll receive it before the weekend, but I've got my fingers crossed.

 

They must have found some more WUXGA screens then , i bet MooMoo will be next .

 

so only mine was moved to phase 0. my rep now says that its reprocessed and ensured me i will receive it in a week ( i will get a new order id in 24 hours) and that this combination problem doesnt exist. i dont know who i should believe any more. if i receive a new EDD it will be me that will cancel and not Dell by its own.

 

Well thats good news then and hopefully you will finally get it .

 

just received an order awknowledgement. EDD is 21th of July. if this really true i will get it one day before it was cancelled.

Aristotelhs2060 same thing happened to me today (just posted in EU thread as didn't read this one first. Really don't want to talk to the same guy as I just spoke to to sort it out so will deal with it later

Yeah man. I'm pretty sure they now have enough seeing how they promised me a bonus if I don't get it by the original EDD. They know they will meet the orders from this point on.

 

When i initially placed my order the money was taken out of my DPA account and my Bank account . Today when i called to check my bank balance it seems like the money was put back there ? is this normal ? im hoping my order does not get cancelled since the money was put back . /confused

Yeah i hope not either but from what i have read from other people on here they dont actually take the money from your account until its ready to ship so i can only assume that initially its to check that its there and then after so many days its gets put back or the flag gets removed ?. im only Speculating right now but trying to remain hopeful as well.
