*OFFICIAL* M17x Order Status Thread...

For whatever reason they can't help me because I placed the order online.

 

That just means they don't want to help you.

They are fully capable of pulling up your info and checking DOMS to see where your order is at, they just don't want to because they didn't get comission off you.

It sucks but it is what it is, ya know?

 

Just made the plunge. I had been waiting in hopes of the i7 Sager becoming SLI enabled, but that seems to be only a dream. The main reason I finally decided for the M17x really ended up being the strength of its cooling system. It actually looks like it is designed to handle all the heat. I've had far too much pain with overheating notebooks (1st generation 17 " macbook pro and the Alienware M15x) , I did not want a repeat.

I ordered on July 9 and have a ship date of Aug 10, the system is a fairly topped out Black, WUXGA, QX9300, 280SLI, dual SSD model. I actually hope they dont ship it out tooo early. I held off ordering until the ship date was about 2 weeks past my summer vacation (and yet before Blizzcon ! yes... I will be there... ).

Crossing fingers it arrives sometime early to mid August . . .

 

I finally to the plunge and ordered mine, The spec's are in my sig. I didnt get the Quad Core because I will use the one from my GT725. I hate waiting though

It is a long, painful, and excruciating wait but it makes it that much better when that big, black box comes

 

After my order was cancelled by Dell yesterday too I've phoned and spoken online but no-one will help. They 'can't' give me the same price as before (used 10% coupon and there was some warranty offer) so they can forget it for now. Useless ordering online and having no-one to contact when it all goes wrong. Dell haven't showed any sign of caring that it was their fault either

 

in my case if it ever comes it will remind me how they behaved me and the several shocks they caused to me.

in my case my rep reprocessed my order. i have the same customer id and just different order id but my order is again at phase 1. do you believe i will get it by 21th of july as my order says? it still says: its being processed.

i strongly advice you to cancel the order and order again via phone or via chat so as to have a rep. you can see it didnt help in my case but i have somebody to shout to. i couldnt live if i was you without any info. i am waiting since 10th of july. you may laugh but this really influenced my phychology.

in fact i feel like cursed and that i will never get it. the same happened with the w90 which i cancelled because there was no stock and the same happened with the previous alienware m17 because i couldnt wait any longer as again they delayed my order. and in the middle of august i will change adress which means that i wont be able to get it in any way.

 

I'm watching from my balcony 27 floors up as the FedEx truck is parked on the corner and the guy keeps coming back to get more packages and bring them to DIFFERENT BUILDINGS!!!!

When he pulls that black box off that truck and loads it on his trolley-thing, I'm running downstairs!!! lol I'm soooo excited right now. Whoever is speculating as to whether or not it's worth the wait, I don't even have mine yet and it was worth it!

 

Well, mine finally received a tracking number. I should have it next week, but I have yet to receive the laptop.

 

if you dont have it yet why you say delivered on your signature? it deserves the wait for you that have a normal order process. if i had the same behaviour as you i should have it at 2th of july as again I FU.KING ORDERED ON 10TH OF JUNE AND I AM STILL AT POINT ZERO! can you understand this?

 

maybe he has it now since he said the fedex truck was there delivering to other people and just have not posted saying so and just changed his sig?


also no need to bypass the filter to make a point you are upset, it will come but it is a high demand system right now so there is bound to be delays.

 

i dont bypass anything and dont have to say anything. again i ordered on 10th of june and my order was cancelled and reprocessed yesterday without sending even a single email and without real reason. still in process phase 31 days after order..

and i dont believe it will ever come.

 

I waited 30 minutes only to watch him pull away without delivering to my building!!!! I called FedEx.... it's on a truck with different color letters.... hahahaha oh man, this is fun.

 

i understand you are upset but there is not much you can do about it but either cancel order, call dell and yell at 'em, or wait. I got upset too when i was waiting on mine but only because i was one of the first few that ordered and people that ordered more than a week later got theirs a week before i did. You are not the only that has had their ordered cancelled and reprocessed and i believe those that did was able to get the new order expedited because of it or so their rep said anyways.

 

actually i am the only one with Richjuk23 seing their orders cancelled one month after order! and no reason like parts missing as it was before and i could understand until now as many people had delays. the reason i got now was combination of parts. if you are so logical tell me what this combination means please and why they cancelled the order for this without telling me ? it wasnt an order software fault it was their decisions for somethign that they offer! there is no logic on that.

 

Ugh...so they claimed the website was wrong and the EDD is bumped a week till next Friday, the 17th. If I don't receive it by then I'm cancelling. This is getting out of hand.

 

if you cant wait a week more imagine me.

 

Well the only logical answer to the above posted question is that only dell can truly tell you the reasons with any kind of certainty as I and others can only speculate. :tongue:

 

i asked them just because i wanted to see what they will answer and just not to order the same if possible in case i reorder. the reply i got?

No bleeding whatsoever on my screen. Lights are working just fine. The laptop really is incredible. All of you will be more than pleased when it arrives (assuming it works properly).

 

So is the screen bright, vibrant, crisp and got any sparkles/graininess etc?

Zomg, just ordered mine, now I begin the wait. Expected delivery date is 8-12, and I am really glad that they almost always deliver on time or early, as that it two days before I am suppose to be down moving in to college. Why am I cutting it so close? My router/modem broke on me and I had to wait for a new one to be shipped and get it set up.

 

Well, that's good news. I'm a little worried about the screen.

 

IT would be impossible for the current i7 machine to be SLI ready because the mobo can't fit another GPU and Thermal reasons to....

 

mine came to my office at noon today, and i just got home and got it all set up, so farewell status thread, and have fun all.

The same over here. Ordered 06/10 and been canceled 2 times (see sig) without any notice. Been promised an EDD of 07/09. Still in "build" phase with an EDD of 01/01/0001

 

You're saying that when a mobile i7 comes out, it cant SLI?

or am I misinterpreting?

interesting... I hope the new stock of screens have zero bleeding! fingers crossed!

 

Not going to happen lol... we may see less bleed but there are still going to be a lot of screens with bleed problems... they jsut mass produce them, and put them through "tests" which I mean they turn it on and off

Yes, as has been pointed out, I was referring to the 9280. Before it actually got to users hands, there was always a rumor that SLI was going to be an option. It is a BIG box, very similiar (if not identical) to the 9262 that I currently own.. There appears to be room inside for SLI, but evidently the thermals/power demands denied the possibility. I'm sure Clevo's marketing people were screaming at their engineers to give them an SLI option. They must be up against some serious issues to have had to settle for a less powerful graphics subsystem than their previous generation 9262's. I would have even accepted a bigger size than the 9262 (although I despise the 9262's power brick, and can only imagine what an i7 SLI capable power brick would be ....) as a trade off for having the full power of the i7 and in effect a desktop's motherboard, but that doesnt seem to bein the cards, at least for awhile.

The next best option seemed to be the m17x now . . . thus AW is into me for another big burn on my AmEx. . . bah its only money...

no i mean the date. and in my case i didnt maxed it out. i ordered as simple as possible for my needs.

cpu: qx9000 (europe dell default selection)
gpus: dual gtx280
screen: 1900x1200
hdd: 2 x160gb (not ssd)
ram 4gb ddr3 1333mhz (also europe default)
silver chassis (never referred as backorder)

if you see something that explains my nightmare tell me.
