*OFFICIAL* M17x Order Status Thread...

yes this is the order acknowledgement i mean. i have it stored too like i knew what would happen. you mean the edd for the new order? as i said i hope its true. it depends on if they have screens this time. and if they have a few they should prioritize to the previously f.cked up orders. except if they find again combination error that even they dont know what it means. in this case it just means they dont want to deliver the order and the story is over.

 

I don't know about the US website but the european one does change on weekends, my first order was cancelled on a sunday....
And my new order just made it to boxing 1h ago (it says it's been in boxing for 7 days though)

 

yes i must confess that mine was changed from phase 2 to phase 3 today. saturday in europe. not a big difference though.

7days in boxing? whata?

 

No I don't think it's been in boxing for 7 days but that's what the website says, it used to say the same date for production too. My order was in production for 2 weeks, then the production stopped and started again on 7/4 and now the website says my system has been in boxing since 7/4 so I don't know what to trust anymore best thing to do is to wait until I get the system to start trusting them

 

actually every european customer has its own story . i just wonder if there is something i havent seen yet.

 

yay I called and mine is in the boxing state, scheduled to be shipped on the 13th. I guess I will get it by my initial EDD (July 17th).

I ordered on June 19th.

I'm confident it'll ship on 07/13 (rep said shipping will be between 24H and 48H)

I splurged with next day , figured if im already blowing this much $$ whats an extra 70 bucks , or i should say 40 bucks over standard shipping.

the price to time ratio tipped to 2 day over 5 day for only 10

2 to 1 day was a 30$ boost so i was like screw that

I just called the Dell DPA number and entered in my info. The computer voice told me it was in the boxing stage.

Yeah... I keep getting worried something is wrong with my payment. I gave them the wrong e-mail to apply for that student discount on accident (ordered over the phone on the 1st)... hope that isn't putting things behind.

 

Mirrors, that sucks you just got unlucky, they "ran out" of screens... but still it's only right it arrives soon, is it in boxing or has it shipped yet?

im in upstate NY, it hasnt shipped yet i think it went into boxing on thursday XD believe me, im just as/more antsy than you haha, when i heard that phone number say boxing i must have jumped around my house for a good 20 minutes ^_^

 

Just an update, as of today I'm in boxing phase. Maybe it will ship Monday? Don't let me down, Dell.

 

I'd crap my pants if I called and it said boxing... it would have been worth it too... unfortunately it still says in that monotone voice "this order is currently in prduction, under the build stage" I check twice a day... I may have a problem, I have been become a wee bit obsessed

"boxing" can take a few days, until it ships. The only upgrades I did were the better screen and the Q9000 proc. I check more then twice a day, (I must be insane).

Lol this is horrible I hope mine goes into boxing tomorrow... I know I have a problem becuase this is effecting my everday life... like at work I can't stop thinking about it, I work at Block Buster until I head to college this fall and I was reorganizing games yesterday and I kept thinking Oo I can't wait to play this on my M17x.... oh wait!

 

i know, and since i play on a very crappy 5 year old desktop now, i think about it all day as i play on this, and another thing is i bought my razer mamba before i got it, and i was like okay im not going to open it till i get it, as i sit here and use it ^_^

btw, woooo 5600dpi is quite a ride XD

 

I don't really see the point... I have a Logitech V450 Nano and it's perfect, really fast and I can stop on a dime @ 2,000 dpi

 

yeah idk i was really going to get a g9x, but than this was there and i was like what the heck, im a high sensitivity player anyway so itll only be a few days before i use it like normal hahah, ive used like all my m17x accessories i was saving for it now >.<

 

Well, i can apparently wait a LONG time more for mine...

it seems being in "Production" for 4 weeks is a misnomer, so hence i'll have to wait for another phase of "Production" due to the upgraded CPU.

yes, upgrading the cpu is going to mean a whole new order is placed, a whole new system is being built (even though all the parts, except for the cpu, are identical)..

since Thursday it's been saying that my EDD will be updated within 48hrs. According to some of the math i learned back in primary school (you know, 1+1+1+1 = 1,111) then those 48hrs are only "Business hours" and not "real" hours.

Hopefully i'll know on Tuesday what my EDD is - so, i'll get an EDD, which is BS - does that make it a BSEDD or a EDDBS? it seems that the whole status and order system at Dell is as inaccurate as predicting the future...hang on!!! they ARE predicting the future!!! woah!

Trying to keep my cool atm as i'm feeling like i've been abducted by aliens, probed with something of an unknown space alloy and then released back to my bed just before waking up this morning.

As i said earlier, i'm going to Aus Tech-Ed in September and i just hope i'll get it before then. Strange we're not hearing much from Dell about these things, except like "we sold $2mill via twitter" and "how we used social media to sell stuff"...i think these should be followed by an article, titled "we sold a lot of all over the place and how we couldn't deliver".

Since we've heard excuses all over the place, ranging from LCD bleed issues, to shortage of cases, cpus, LCDs, kugelsacks, keyboards, PSUs, gnomes to wrap the monitors (apparently there was a strike by the Union for Equal Opportunities and Gnomes Unite) i wonder if this isn't going to start hurting Alienware's reputation? you call Dell (because you can't call Alienware directly) and you get 500 different stories as to why there's a delay with your specific order - Dell has been known to BS just to get you off the phone and Alienware's rep might take a dive if they don't pick their acts up soon.

so you are beginning to lose patience. this is the phase 1 of phychology. i am in phase 3 ready to freak. phase 4 is the last step and during this step you cancel order so as to keep your mind in normal status

 

On the 8th, I got a e-mail from [email protected] (Is this actually an address used by UPS or do dell people use it?) that the laptop has been picked up by UPS and will be delivered between 08:00 and 18:00 on the 13th of July (tomorrow). However, the tracking information on the UPS website still says "Billing Information Received", just like on the first day it appeared. Shouldn't it be in transit by now if it's due for delivery tomorrow? Or is it common for the UPS tracking site not to update (for European deliveries?). I'm really confused.

 

I cant even cancel, maybe its just canada's way to doin things , but they said its already in production and I have to wait until its shipped to me to get a refund lol,

 

That's a weird Dell rule. Some have fought against it successfully.

 

this is not a rule. this is illegal and paranoiac. i am sure they wont keep the parts themselves if they cancel the order and if its really under production.

this is the reason the orders go directly to production. to keep the money. this doesnt mean all orders are beginning to be assemblied at the same time. this is common logic.

this whole story is like a nightmare, a bad dream which i want to wake up from and i cant. they dont only delay the orders they prevent us from cancelling them while they can whenever they want. what is this guys?
