MY ALIEN JUST SHIPPED AN HOUR AGO and the delivery date tomorrow 07/14
MOO....Check you status as we went in boxing at the same time
-
Hey guys. It seems that I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I ordered mine back in June 21.... Today I checked my status online and it gave me a new Edd date of august 14. So I called Dell customer service and let them have An ear full. I told them that I was going to cancel my order because there was no way I would wait for another month for this toy. So the customer rep told me to hang on while he check the status. Well, he said that unit will be shipped in 2-3 days. And he gave me a free next day air. I check the status of it after two hours and now it has a "shipped" mark.
-
Well lets see here is mine the only one that has stayed on track
ordered 6/21/09
esd 6/13/09 confirmed
edd 6/15/09 unconfirmed
I have 2 day shipping so it should be around 15 or 16
but luckly mine has stayed exactly on course as they stated from the beginning -
ordered june 19th
1st edd july 14
edd changed as of this morning Aug11
edd changed as of this afternoon back to july 14 -
what did i tell you guys

Ya'll should just listen

-
The physic has arrived
moo did you ship also -
did you ship too?
I not of those whinning, even if I got cancelle.d 2 times -
yes i shipped i told you i would
-
LOL nice a bunch of us will be getting ours at the same time
-
Yep! My status just changed to shipped too. Ordered on the 23rd. ^^
-
I ordered on 27 June and went into boxing on 13 July. My EDD on the web support page still says 31 July but I don't see it being that long from what people say.
I was told by Dell support that I was held up a while by the screen and the black case. I can't complain. I was mostly worried about the case being a long delay. I had no idea what the process was to get those manufactured. -
Well, i just want to have it move from "Order Received" to something else...anything else would be good.
still waiting for Dell's 48hrs to run out (honestly not sure how long 48hrs is in Dell time) and just get an EDD...had hoped they'd be a bit more careful after i've been cancelled once already
and now i'm seeing everybody else getting theirs boxed, loved, shipped etc
no fair
-
well if it wasn't shipped today it will be on the next shipment so shouldn't be to long what kind of shipping did you get ?
-
Ordered July 10.... anyone in the same boat as me???
-
Has anyone in Canada got theirs shipped yet or even received?
-
Close - 8th of July (but that's my second "order", first one was cancelled by Dell)...
-
CSharpZealot,
I has to be just that Dell is not updating the status as well in Australiafor you but you can't be too much longer. -
Moo,
I got 3-5 day shipping so I'm hoping to get it sometime next week.... -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Anybody else been told the backorders are 3 things, LCD, Memory modules, and the Keyboard?
-
According to Dell's automated system, my unit will be in the "boxing" for about 2 weeks yet ESD of 7-24-09. I am in the manufacturing business and understand delays, but dell should notify people of the delay and not leave them hanging in limbo.
-
you will probably be on the next shipment maybe Wednesday (not sure)
then add another 3 days you come out to the 22 or so....(weekends don't count ...) -
The web site is often 12hrs behind, at a minimum, but the automated phone system is saying the same thing - EDD to be given within the next 48hrs (again, those 48hrs has been running since Wednesday last week, 6 days now).
-
Nopes - my rep down here in Australia had no idea about the LCD, memory or keyboard problems..
the reason for my order to be re-done (after it got cancelled) was that the cpu wasn't available...soooooo??
guess this means there's LCD, Memory, Keyboard AND CPU backorders.. -
Thasse - nope, not that I saw, we dont count as a country remember,
-
Hopefully the boxing stage for this round wont take so long.
-
Hey guys... how many of you ordered your with the respawn disc? i didnt buy it, it was 50 bucks! so wat do we do when we want to restore it back to factory settings? (the way it was shipped) i know there is a vista disc and drivrer disc... does that have the alien FX on it? can we make recovery disc with dvd-r like most laptops??? i also heard you can use norton ghost to make an image.. how does that work? hopefully someone here can explain this.. for the people who didnt buy the respawn disc with their order....
and for the people who did... can you sell me a copy? i'll pay you via paypal!
i know its "not allowed" but.. its worth a shot to ask!
Thanks.
-
check my sig. Ordered 06/10, got cancelled 2 times
shipped today, got my tracking n#
delivery tomorrow by 3pm -
You don't need the respawn disk. The OEM version of Vista and the resource DVD will get you back to factory default.
-
SOon as you crack it open throw Acronis True Image on there and backup the drive before doing anything to it at all , i do this with every new PC i get for the just incase scenario..
You can get a version of Acronis for free if you own a Seagate drive be it internal or External from http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/discwizard -
Does weekends count on the production stage or any stage for that matter?
-
should of gotten next day
-
Yes, I've received a tracking number from Dell on a Sunday before.
-
So lets say worst case senario.. the computer messes up.. i cant boot to windows, usally you would need restore disk AKA "respawn cd" to do this right? is on that disc anyway? if the driver cd has it all...?
sorrie im nOOb at this sh!t..
-
you can make a image of the hard drive as soon as you get it using Acronis ...click one button ... when it messes up you just put in the disc and POOF its back to the exact same no need to do anything
-
The respawn DVD is an automated way of doing it. It's supposed to be one click type of setup, I've never actually had a respawn before so I'm not positive. The OS and resource DVD is more manual work but gets the same results. I re-installed a couple times already and it looks exactly as the factory install.
-
you are correct with the respawn its point n click ... its basically a image ...( like i said to do )
-
Awsome... Thanks for all your help man.
-
I got one of the Alienware Respawn DVDs with a desktop i bought from them like 6 or 7 years ago , it was just Norton Ghost on a fancy Alienware disc
. Worked as advertised though.
-
i now have a federal express tracking number
shows i will have it tomorrow -
And TBH i can imagine 3 or 4 ways to do exactly the same thing (automatic, etc) for free
-
Lol so can i but it actually came with the system for free for some odd reason but i wasnt complaining .
-
Can anyone guarantee me that there will be a back to school sale? Anyone know approx when?
BTW, I live in Canada...if that makes a difference
Thanks -

Another so, so video review but it is nice to see something.

I wouldnt hold your breath on a back to school sale on these systems and if your in need of one you may want to order sooner rather then later.
Back to school stuff usually is the mainstream machines more so then the gaming rigs.
Thats not to say there wont be some sort of deal but it wouldnt be anything substantial like there other lines. -
There is a back to school offer in the works and it's online - i saw it the other week and the M17x is included in the deals..i'll try to dig up the url for it and get back to you @babyhemi
-
oh man...that would be soo awesome! Thanks CSharpZealot
-
Actually, I got next day shipping for free
-
Yeah..only discount day coming up anytime soon IMO that I've seen AW run with consistency is Black Friday sales, and usually they are REALLY good discounts. Wonder what DELL will do with this old AW tradition.
-
With that config....should've gotten a free butler to take care of that beast ;P -

This can be true for almost all of us. Just call and be concerned about the long wait from order to ship date and say is there anything you can do to help me out? That should do it.
