When dumping 5 plus grand on a machine you would think free shipping would be automatic. I would have asked for expedited same day shipping.

 

That is what I meant. I got FREE NEXT DAY SHIPPING....Same day would be better.

how long before your status went from "Order Received" to "being built/put together/crammed goodies into little box"?

 

It wen't to build status after like a day or two... Austin Kidder's team is fantastic, got me a great discount and he was able to help my timing along

 

Figured you would be in boxing since i hit it monday morning. Now hopefully boxing does not take 2 weeks.

 

Well it shouldn't seeing as we have all the parts our laptops are ready to go.... Other than that there are two possibilites ours get shipped sooner as they are shipping less due to the fact they are low on parts... or b we are in a huge line as they are crazy busy

 

Hope its the former and they get them out right away . I also hope they dont ship on a friday which they have always been notorious for on past orders for me which would make over night pretty much obsolete .

 

I have the two day shippinng... which would make it even worse for me lol....

 

well i've been in "Order Received" since last wednesday...it's not looking good for my unit atm

reply from the rep this morning was "still yet to get reply from another department on this, will try and get update from them".

I wonder why it's taking this long just to get a single answer from them for me?

 

Well not if they both ship on friday and we both get them the same day , thats what im getting at . Money would be totally wasted that way.

 

Why is it so hard for them to work with people out of US... this is rediculous lol, you think they would have another shipping department for non US members... instead of just having the one overworked and throwing your guys aside

This shows that stupid auto brightness contrast thing , god i hope they fix that in a bios update .

Its right at the beginning of the video when he opens up the lid. It auto dims like 2 seconds later.

I already thought about that after 6 hours of continuous seg fault when coding at linux lol (really hard to be optimist after that )

Hey BIGX33 are you going to be ordering one ever ? . I know in brazil the machine costs about a million dollars US but it seems like your pretty interested in it .

how easy is it to upgrade the cpu on the Alienware machines? would be cool to upgrade mine a little bit later on (once i get it and get used to the awesome power that is ALIENWARE!!!)

 

How well do you know you way around the inside of a computer ? from the pics ive seen it looks like a no brainer to me, but others like Biscuits above seem a bit nervous about it .

I'm going to buy it from EUA... I'm gonna avoid the import taxes (80% here ) so it gonna be something like 15% more expensive for me and thats why I still interested .

Pretty surreal but we pay like 100% more in everything imported (and if you buy from stores here it's like 200% more lol).

I've built plenty of desktop machines and servers in my "youth" but have never opened up a laptop to take a shot at replacing parts in them.

I'd be nervous opening up the M17x as well to replace anything - it's a beast and expensive at that

 

i wish i could get one of these things, but i only have $2500...ill have to buy something cheaper but one day (when i have a job) i will get an alienware!

my m17x is 2 hrs away the enternal wait is almost over. and my cc isnt charged yet. if i could get so lucky as to get it free , but i doubt that will happen

I agree, mine has been in the boxing stage since 7-11-09. They told me that it is shipping on "or" before 7-24-09. I can't see why it would take 2 weeks to box.

 

When i checked 7/10, I was in boxing stage with an estimated shipping date of the 24 too. I ordered mine 6/26.

 

it doesn't they leave it in boxing till they have enough built to do a shipment as it is cheaper
