I have not gotten any messages about anything being backordered, plus it would say in blue letters underneath or near the option that it would delay your order, so I dont think any of the parts are backordered.

    New update:

Got the old Dell phone order status and I am currently in the Build stage :)

I think the new phone order status is either wrong or it no longer does stages. It's really weird because when I call the number, occasionally it will go to Dell's older phone system. From there I can get the phone status that goes through the stages.

FWIW, I believe the older phone status because I recently ordered a 1640 from Dell and it never moved from order processing on the new phone system(and that laptop is def NOT in high demand :))

Go to allpowerful.com, select the restricted area and enter 6179 as the code. There are wallpapers and screen savers in there. I'm just not sure if it's what you are looking for.

I was curious about that too. Would have been helpful to provide us with the numbers. :p I just called up and got some unhelpful idiot. "Your order is due to be delivered on or before the 6th July." Thanks, I can read words on a screen too.

Like I said, somehow I got Dell's old phone order status (using the 433-9014 number).

I wish I knew if there were a certain way to get the older system because it goes through the stages.

I have a few numbers here from an older Dell purchase. Do you think there is another number that maybe connected to the older system? I can try to find out if you like. :)

Ok, found an older number, but it re-routes to the same system found in the current order status number. No luck here. :(

At least we know that are systems are being built and not just sitting in the queue doing nothing :)

According to Dell's site, build times for the M17x are 20 days.
So, since I ordered on 6/2, mine should be done 6/22 :)

A week from Monday wouldn't be so bad. My processor came in today. I have to see if I can test it out on a laptop I built for my father.

It could be 20 working days. So you shouldn't count the weekends.

Your's would then be shipped on the 1st of July.

Considering Dell's Penang Manufacturing Facility is a 24-hour plant, I would think it would be 20 days incl. weekends.

I FOUND A BACKDOOR to the old order status!

1)Call 800-283-2210 = this is the DPA phine number so don't get worried :)

    2)Follow prompt #3

    3)Now, select business/epp selection #2

    4)Track order option #1

5)Then do it again - track order option #1

VOILA! now you'll be able to get the phases (Build, Testing, Boxing, etc).

This took me A WHILE to figure out, so enjoy everyone :)

Good job Sleey0. Going to try now and find out!

Edit: Sleey0, I just tried that number and it was a wrong number. Could it be 888 instead of 800? Going to try again just to make sure I didn't dial wrong.

Since I was able to use it earlier today by calling the normal 9014 number, I figured it must still be in service somewhere :)

Took all day to find it because Dell has 8,000,000 phone numbers :D

Sadly I wont be one of those lucky few, i ordered the second day cause i had to cancel to get my name put on the plate. Also yesterday they called me(the nice guy from CS and told me again the black chassis and my processor were on backorder/getting more from manufacturer soon) If i get it before Junes end i would be freaked.
