I got an email back from Dell. My laptop should be shipping within the next 3 days so Biscuit and whoever else ordered with us, be expecting it soon.

Well hopefully the info you got from whomever you spoke to wasnt bunk just to get you off the phone. 3 days could be monday or tuesday and that sounds just fine if infact true, atleast my overnight shipping will have paid off .

 

Yeah, this was an email so I trust it a little more than a phone call. But keep in mind they said it was shipping in 3 days, not arriving.

 

Yeah i know what you meant and its just a guesstimate with that info of 3days , im remaining hopeful its sooner ish .

So did you decide your keeping it at this point ? i assume by the excitement you must have pretty much changed your mind ?.

what does "OCFT" mean?

in context...Alienware M17x-OCFT

Any ideas? OverClockingFullThrottle ?? OverClockingFixThis?

 

Order Completed For Transfer(Transit)(Testing) ? dunno that was just a guess but the best i could come up with.

 

that's a plausible explanation - although, it's just been entered into the system (again) and is sitting in "Order Received" (story of my life it seems).

anyways, the "Name" of the unit used to be called something else, and now the OCFT is tagged to it

 

hmmm...just called to hear if the order is making progress and is now being told "Your order requires a customer care agent to assist you"...

great, sounds like it's been cancelled again or something....am well and truly fed up now!!!

 

Man what does it take to get a system in Australia ? an act of god from the sound of it . Sorry to hear (again).

Great video, i havent seen it awhile but nice find .

The pain of waiting whether its your first laptop from dell or your 10th never gets any easier that is for sure .

 

At this point in time i'm not sure really...Have a feeling that even an act of god wouldn't necessarily mean that you can get a M17x in Australia.

Yeah, but I have to decide if it would be wise to open the box when I get it later this week.

 

I have a strong feeling its going to be almost impossible to not succumb to the temptation of opening the box.

 

Yeah, that's what I'm affraid of. Haha, then they might have to charge me the restocking fee. On the other hand, maybe something will go go wrong with it (software wise) that they would have to give me money back or something. Or, if I was Clauss, I would have 2 M17x's and perform a ballet with them

Ya my EDD was 7/31 from ordering 7/1. So there still guesstimating a month approx.

Hmm, think returning it unopened would cost me anything (like shipping?). I recently re-ordered and my old order has already shipped (damnit!).

If there are no faults or anything like that with the machine they might try to slap you with a 15% restocking fee. I guess you could try to beat it by telling them you have another order or something... I don't think it looks favorable for you though man.

 

My M17x has officially shipped. I have the same status as you Quad but it says it shipped. Looks like the email was right. Biscuit, I think yours will be shipping very soon
