I'm recieved!!! Installing CPU right now... played around on it for a while now it's time for my Quad

 

Where's the unboxing vid??

he opened it to quick and got mad then ripped it apart

 

he can't do all that talking about an unboxing vid and not deliver.

 

16 days?? wow that pretty dope... dang i hope mine comes sooner, still in boxing stage and the EDD on the phone and the net says the same shh!t

I did the unboxing video calm down now lol... anyway you guys I finally sat down to actually install the CPU and I cannot get the center control pannel off for the life of me, I took out both screws holding it to the underside and put the monitor back as far as possible but it just wont pop off

 

You need to go to either corner of it and there is an notch there to pry it upward , once you get one end off just pull forward on it and it should come right off.

 

It's completed production/build (took only 24hrs) and it's going through the Q&A stage now...

by the sounds of it i'll be getting it next week. Will take 1-2 days to complete thoroughly testing the unit (due to the one-off build process this can't enter into the normal testing process).

Not too worried any longer - Dell Corp. Affairs are on the job here..

being shipped my TV Tuner today (arriving around lunch time) but i can't make it home for it so i'll assume the courier will leave a note telling me to contact them or something to schedule a delivery asap.

 

Must be an external USB thingy .(the TV tuner)

Somewhat odd, I guess their availability is dependent alot on processor choice? I ordered only one day before you, and mine went right from "in production" to "shipped" on monday (seems FedEx didnt really get it until Tues) for an on-time delivery of 7/23 (formerly EDD of 8/10). According to Fedex tracking, the box is on its way from Memphis, TN to Phoenix , AZ right now.... The only difference in our systems mainly seems to be the processor choice, I got the QX-9300 (I also ordered dual SSD's if that makes any difference). In any event, it appears that they have really ramped up production. Many seem to be getting units well in advance of their EDD's

LOL!!! i've been tormenting myself by downloading vids of unboxing and reviews to my phone! am watching it on the bus!!!!!!

 

Wow...you HAVE been waiting a long time.....So you've seen it enough that you should be able to unbox and describe it blindfolded then...

 

I did lol, the control panel is being very stubborn, the very edges wont pop up

 

My XPS Gen2 and XPS 1710 were identical with how to remove the panel

 

5 minute break then try again.

 

you have to give it a little force after you remove both screws

 

Biscuits You really have apply alot of pressure the first time cracking it open though . you may feel like your almost going to break it but you wont.

Lol like i said it was same on my other systems and truly felt as if it were going to break but after a few times it will come off easier .

 

yea after forgetting to lock the CPU it was the 3 time and it almost fell off

 

Yeah - 2 months waiting now..i'm on my 3rd order (which is the one that's being expedited for me).

the wait wasn't as bad as the lack of information/communications i got from Dell's rep that dealt with me initially.

The current corporate escalation specialist is keeping me informed - calls me if there's news of any type and emails me straight back when i have a question.

the service i'm getting now is phenomenal to be honest - could not have asked for more!

 

Stop breaking it!! post the unboxing vid already!!!!

Ok guys... I couldn't get the white sticker, totally off without risk of damage or oils from my skin getting on the pins... my cores are all running at 29-30 C surfing...

That might slow down the delivery a tad due to traffic etc but thats about it .

 

should be getting my w7 upgrade form and a free 17lappy backpack some time next week

So there's suppose to be a shipment going out today? I've been in the boxing stage since early this week.

 

well mine never came with 1 but it was supposed to so i called im yesterday complained for a long time about 3 hours and finally some1 with a brain was like o look hes rite and there gonna send it to me sometime this week with a free 17inch laptop backpack.

 

Malignant i went in boxing on a Monday and it did not ship till that Sunday so you may end up in the same boat.

 

Called my sales rep, they said I was in the last stage of boxing, which was the actual tranist from the production line to the distribution center, so I'm assuming that means "Slow-Boat" from China. But she said I should hopefully see it by Tuesday/Wednesday of next week! I think I peed my pants a little with gleeful excitement.

 

ok, im confused....the order status website says "In Production" but the status call says its still being processed

Follow the phone number status and ignore the website till you see it says shipped on there . thats my best advice for you.

 

Call the number that was listed at the beginning of the post. That was more informative.
