*OFFICIAL* M17x Order Status Thread...

I thought it was one flight on Wednesday? I am in "boxing" since AM tuesday MST (i guess Monday PM chinese time). I was expecting to be "shipping" yesterday, but no luck so I perpped myself for a week of wait to be shipped.... is this a wrong assumption?

It's a couple of flights, actually.

Xiamen, China --> Taiwan --> Anchorage --> Nashville (or the WCFC depending on where you live).

 

Was in Build stage yesterday now I am in Boxing. EDD of 8/17/09 I hope the boxing stage does not take that long! lol

 

OK I AM VERY PISSED OFF AT DELL NOW! Purolator got an empty package, they have a package number with no product so now mine is gonna take even freaking longer this is absolute bull S**t!

 

?? are you sure it didn't get into the wrong delivery persons hands? Sending an empty package is odd.

 

That's weird my EDD is 8/10/09, and on the Dell.ca website it's still showing it as in production.

 

Well when Purolator got it it was just a package with nothing in it.. someone got it before it got to purolator...

 

I was looking forward to today so much i couldnt sleep and now this happens.... this is ruining my summer.. WHY did dell have to buy/ruin alienware

 

that's what purolator is telling you. I'm sure Dell would say they didn't send an empty package. I think this is a case of sticky fingers.

 

There is a lot of this "shipping company theft" recently, and it's on the rise, someone needs to be done about this BS.

 

Yeah... Just sucks how i ordered June 6th and its now July 23rd and it will take even longer.... Why do i have such bad luck....

 

In the end you'll still get the system. Hopefully they will throw you to the front of the queue.

Dell Customer Service is really in need of an educational overhaul...

Before my system got expedited i put a request in, via their own system, to change the delivery address.

then yesterday evening i get this email, in response to my request, telling me that it can't be done due to it being a "security problem".

????? somebody seriously needs to pick apart the responses from their Customer Service department as they're spouting so much crap right now it's not even funny.

Apparently, once the order has been placed, it's not possible to change the delivery address...

lets see...#1, there's a function, in the Order Status page on their web site which looks like this:



so, they have a feature there, but it's impossible to do because it's a security risk??

I know that my system is taken care off, outside of the normal procedures now, but honestly fellas, am i the only one seeing something "wrong" here? LOL

 

They are definitely having issues integrating with Alienware. I called Dell spare parts this morning and they told me I had to be transferred to AW for my M17x. When I got on the phone with AW I told them I wanted to talk to someone about spare parts and they transferred me back to Dell. I just hung up.

 

Yeah, heard that too - friend of mine wanted to buy a spare powersupply for his laptop and kept getting transferred around their systems as well till he hung up too.

I think it's natural teething problems with aquisitions (i've been there, done that too), but in my case it's not an integration problem - it's Cust. Service telling me one thing while their site has a function available to do exactly what they're telling me can't be done...

why bother lie all the time? why not just say "sorry, we can't change your delivery address" instead of an elaborate email?

 

Ill tell ya now becareful with the changing address thing Zealot . I know it sounds simple but i did this 2 years ago with my DPA account and the next time i went to use it they closed the whole thing down for "security reasons" . i called everyone in that darn system and no one could or would do anything so i had to wait till my account was entirely deactivated then i had to reapply for credit . Total mess to say the least .

This may at the last second throw up red flags and you wont get your system is what im really getting at.

 

Well it is time for me to join the crowd and stop drooling over all the pictures around here. Going to be placing an order this weekend or early next week for this monster while haphazardly trying to sell my MBP since I'd hate to see it go.

Hopefully I can make my mind up between silver or black by then... the age old dilemma...

My second Hard drive (500GB @ 7,200), and backpack I bought for the wife (that Belkin slim), shipped today. Also, today I received my second HDD bracket (but with 1 instead of 4 screws...).

I just received the 500GB 7200 hard drive today, I hope the new orders are coming with the extra hard drive bracket! The drive is so tiny and light i thought they shipped me an empty box.

I think you better get started on getting the extra bracket over the phone bro. As far as I read the newer orders are still not coming with the extra bracket.

What 500GB HDD did you get? The Momentus? I think it was $110 or $120 before any savings.

Thanks, did this thing pull you here as well? heh And I see you went with the Silver, leaning that way myself but not quite sure yet. I love how basically every color looks good with the all black contrast, but knowing me I will have all blue on like 99% of the time. So I think that would go good with silver...

Anyone here with a silver one able to post up some pics of it with the blue lights and maybe the deep purple?

 

No love for RED around here still? I thought for sure that would be a popular choice once AW decided to release it (I guess the $99 price isn't helping unfortunately).

I believe chaz is the only member that has actually seen the red up close and he said it would be his choice.

 

It's like I'm not meant to have a laptop as awesome as the M17x.. that or I'm seriously unlucky... should be getting an email within 48 hours from dell to see if the found the package or if they need to make another one

Did you pay with a credit card? If so, you'll get out of this mess fast. Do a chargeback.

If you used the DPA account call them. They'll straighten it out quick also.

actually, may be i am wrong, but $100 was not an issue for me, I just didn't want black, i knew about red (hate red... any red). if i would have a choice of blue-ish colors i would be game, otherwise grey it is...

Am I the only one who has had so much trouble with getting my laptop? I've gone through forum through forum trying to find some relief but damn it seems like i'm the only one. Ordered my alienware originally on 6/2/09.. this was the first screw up by dell. Canceled twice.. called them about three times finally got it back in progress with the new order starting on 6/10/09 and and EDD of 7/14/09. So i wait and wait for this rig comes 7/13 and i find out it's delayed til 7/20. So i figured what the hell i'll wait a bit longer. Comes about 7/15. Delayed again to 7/21. I didn't really care I just wanted it here. On the 18th now it's delayed once again to the 7/28. What the hell!?! I don't have any hopes whatsoever left. I've heard there was a delay due to the LCD panel. Can anybody actually tell me that there is any possibility i will ever get my laptop? Are they even building the damn thing?
