YA!!! My system is in the boxing stage!! OMG I am so excited! So who thinks we will see them early next week? I got free overnight shipping so it looks really possible! Hope everybody else gets theirs soon!

Thats a high specced build, although I dont think you will ever use more than 3-3.5 of your 8 gigs of RAM ever, but its always good to have extra !

 

Ouch good thing I din't order one, I go on a trip next saturday, and I could have been laptop-less if I had ordered .

Well - I just called Dell about my order. I got transfered 6 times before finally getting a busy signal... So far I am not rating their customer support highly.

 

Not really worth the aggravation. Wait until tomorrow.

 

Build stage for me. I ordered the second day. Not surprising cause my processor/chassis were/are on back order.

 

I ordered the morning of the first day. I have been told that nothing was on back order. I got confirmation of my order about 1/2 hour later at 10:15 am.

 

Just hang in there, mine is still in build stage also, i'm impatient but i'm trying to look at it that i wont be getting till july anyways so any earlier would be a bonus.

 

JBBW when/who told you nothing was on back order? I had a customer resolution representative tell me on tuesday the chassic/processor i ordered were on backorder/getting more from manufacturer soon.

 

can anybody speculate on the reliability of this machine?

 

If the people who ordered over the phone are getting it faster than people who ordered online, that's pretty retarded and going to so many people off.

 

It's only one day so far and no one has received yet. All our systems could end up on the same plane arriving at the same time.

 

Give us 6 months to a year and we'll be able to answer that.

 

You will be surprised. I have 8gb on my desktop and after a week uptime its using 7 gig.. vista will at some point use it all.. Its a mem hog

 

lol, reboot once in a while you'll get better overall performance.

Edit: BTW have you checked task manager where the memory leak is? Just curious.

 

i ordered mine on a 7th, its in a build stage. my estimate delivery date is 7/8/2009 but im leaving to Korea on a 6th lol. hopefully it will get here before the 6th.

I didn't....I ordered first thing in the morning on release day and there was a bug in the order system. All shipping was listed at $0.....

 

FYI- the phone dell guy said orders over the phone get processed 2 days sooner b/c it takes online orders 2 days to clear. That being said I ordered mine online and mine is in the boxing phase according to the phone #

I had to pay $29 for 2-3 day--I didn't find out the M17x even existed until several days after it was out

 

I ordered over the phone and the guy gave me overnight for free, they were gonna charge me online though. Weird.

 

Well - it sure has me angry. I did every thing I could to make sure I ordered early. Now it seems as if I could have forgone all that if I just called rather than use their web site.

I called customer service last week when my order was still in 'pre-processing' on Thursday. Not that I really trust them anymore but it's what they told me.

Actually it depends on what you do and on how you allocate your memory. I use a lot of After Effects, photoshop and premiere. And new games and/or software tend to be more and more resource hungry.

I almost had a heart attack when I just received an email from DELL stating that my order will be delayed. Actually, it was for another product.

Placed an order few days ago, and currently in production (EDD 7/13/09) i'm typing by iphone so can't copy the specs on here but i ordered with:

T9600
Dual 280m SLI
1920x1200 LCD
And everything else are based specs

I ordered from Canada, it sucks that i couldn't be able to personalize the nameplate and also no coupons + over charged price (US$3400 is what i have to pay for my system), pretty lame, but anyway I hope after all that the quality is still the same as US customer's systems.

By the way, i'm new to this forum and the computer hardware stuffs, but I really want to try to find out after I got the laptop, i planned on getting the QX9300 and the SSD after market and install it myself, but could any1 help me to find any good deal around?? Really appreciated ur help. Please tell me how hard it is to install a new processor and SSD, what i must do to get them running after install?? And how to make the SSD to be my primary drive for the system.
