Bluetooth optional for $20, if anyone was curious.

EDIT: And only color options seem to be black and lunar silver. Though I do like the silver.

UK Update - just spoke with somebody at Dell UK and all they could/would tell me is they have not received any update from there marketing teams.

We in the uk must note its 6hours behind the states so they are still at work while its 10pm here.

Is there a different in power consumption between the SU4100 and the SU7300? I'm more concerned about battery life than a single extra MB of L2 cache.

Yup. It's better to buy the 500 7200rpm from newegg and stick it in, but.......might void warranty.

    . . . and ordered!

    My config:
Lunar Silver chassis (still not sure on this, but I think I'll like it :) )
    Core 2 Duo SU7300
    4GB RAM
160GB HDD (I just bought a 128gb SSD to replace this)
    Blutooth
And of course, the personalized nameplate

    Total: $969 + tax

I also paid for overnight shipping since it was only $16. Total was $1044.10 for me, not bad at all. And since the price before tax+shipping was under $1000, I can grab a SquareTrade 3 year warranty w/ accidental damage for $200. :D

Estimated ship date not until march 1st, but I ordered a bunch of systems from dell last summer and all came early (sometimes by weeks), so I'm expecting I'll have it this month. :D

Thanks a ton for the tip that the order page was up!

FWIW, the Core i3/i5 upgrade thing they are showing on the left is just the standard advertise. Go try configuring a Inspiron with a Pentium or Core 2 Duo and it gives the exact same thing, so it is doubtful that the i3 or i5 are coming any time soon.

Dell is actually well known to over-estimate the ship date. I recall ordering a 30" monitor from them, and the ship date was in a month. Talk about a shock when it was at my door a week later

Have there been any new release laptops that have taken the full shipping estimate or *gasp* longer than that?

The main reason I ask is I just have a phobia of paying so much for something I wont get my hands on for more than a month. Dell should basically not charge until they ship you the laptop but of course that is out of the question for big business

Well, ordered one as well, thanks for the link! Now here's hoping it actually went through ha!

Did the Silver, SU7300, 4GB, 500GB 7200, bluetooth, and a blue fx scheme ha... suprised it asked all that, custom wallpaper even ha...

Same 3/1/10 Ship date, and overnight shipping for $16.

Excited, hopefully they won't reject our orders and make us redo them... as I still cant' find it on the Dell site other than that one link. Anybody received an email receipt yet? I have not. But not sure how long that takes, never ordered a dell....
