ddr3 800 mhz? joke?
-
-
just curious.... how much would it be if they did have the ix series as an available option? Are we talking about hundreds of dollars more?
-
damn need this to show up on EPP then I'm set. My guess is won't be til tomorrow. Oh well, time to play around!
Stupid question, how do I get my configurator to go back to picking each option then going to next rather than having it all on the page going down? I want to see what the silver looks like in a picture. -
I'm talking to a rep about the SIM card feature. Apparently you *do* have to purchase the Gobi card in order for it to work. I'm going to look into this a little more before I order my lappy... this was a key feature and I don't want to shell out $130 for a card that I might not need.

And yep, just got the same thing.... Thanks! -
I am about to pull the trigger on this but am seriously wondering if the SU7300 is worth $100.
I check all the benchmark scores at
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmarklist.2436.0.html
and the SU7300 is only like 20-40 points higher on things like 3DMark06 and such. I mean is it really a significant difference worth $100 (or 1/10th of the total cost of the laptop?) It seems like that chip is constrained by clock speed, and a meg of cache is having almost no effect, at least on benchmarks, just wondering if anyones got info or a link or something as to why the SU7300 is a lot better.
Also, any idea when this will hit the education website? Do new products go there almost immediately?
Finally I doubt the i5 is coming anytime soon, the 18 watt i5 is not even near the end of the pipeline, and the next lowest tdp is 35 watt which will never work. When it does hit, expect it to be $150+ extra, maybe more like $250 considering they want $100 for a meg of cache that costs them like $25 from Intel. -
What's this EPP discount?
-
"17% Internal Dell EPP coupon is applicable online only and is stackable with all existing offers. - $216.41"
Where did you get this? I want, bad. That, plus education discount, plus my credit card dell cashback could equal big money off. -
-
Only one I had left. We only get them every 3-6 months.
-
Darkhan, how'd you get your EPP to go through? I'm not on the EPP site obviously but I don't even see the M11x up on the EPP site.. or is it? I have a discount code through my dad's work that gives me 16% off but yeah says I need to be in the epp site to do it. bummer, guess I gotta wait.
-
Guys those are for direct employee only.
-
Maybe I should edit it out?
-
lol yeah you probably should. I'm gonna wait for it to show up on EPP so I can get my discount.
-
I signed up and received the 50$ off EPP code already but 50$ off ain't much lol.
-
flipp where did you sign up? I signed up for the newsletter but got nothing.
Also anyone got any thoughts on my post a page back? -
PrimitiveWallflower Notebook Enthusiast
I'm basically torn between this and the UL30JT. I was learning towards the m11x because the GPU has more oomph and I assumed the SIM card capability came standard, but now that I see the Gobi WWAN option on the pre-order page I'm not so sure.
-
lol I"m trying to figure out the connection between the configure link and the EPP configure link for the M17x or M15x, see if I can somehow plug in the right url info from the M11x to get it to go into the EPP link.
Here's the $50 EPP purchase, says it works on top of your EPP discount, awesome.

@PrimitiveWallflower
Im in the same place as you. Want this guy, but turned off by some things, such as the 11" screen as a primary machine.
I will probably go for a sony cw, or asus line (hopefully cheap core i model to match. maybe a ul, or something thats faster but less battery). -

Hi guys! I've lurked here for ages, and finally decided to post b/c I'm interested in getting this to complement my MBP.
First off, is it easy to claim you're an EPP member? I'm currently a student, and I'm sure I could get that discount. But, if EPP is better, AND I can use that $50-off coupon, that'd save me quite a bit. Also, do we know what the EPP discount is going to be? It says 10-30%... do we have anything more specific?
Thanks everyone! And good luck with the orders! -
-
The EPP discount for Alienware is 10% right now, so roughly $100 off depending on config. Now where did you get that $50 off coupon? I still don't have one, and cant find anywhere to get it!
-
-
-
Yeah, that's about a $150 savings on a $1000 config. Not bad at all. Now if only tax didn't kill it... -
WOOT Pre-ordered!! Dates are moving fast on this everyone. Mine ships out March 8th... If you want one before oh August, better get it now!

I am also a bit miffed that Alienware is charging $100 for a $10 processor upgrade and not offering the SU9400 which is also a 10 Watt processor but much much faster than the other 2 offerings.
I can't decide if I can swallow the $100 for what as far as I can tell is a negligible to non-existent performance increase. -
Any chance that somebody knows how to find the order link for the Irish site?
-
-
Then they should hurry up and put it on the EPP site.
-
If this thing is on EPP tomorrow.......sold.
-
Most likely it won't be on EPP for a few days or even a week+. Why put it on EPP when they can get all the order's right now from people who can't wait?
-
We have links to the US and UK stores with this. Can anyone dig up the Canadian version? Pretty please?
-
-
Does anyone have a real comparison between the two CPU options? I thought that the cost difference would be at MOST $50... but honestly $100 is just a scam.
I feel like they definitely mislead us on the pricing of this thing a bit. That SDD is a rip off too -
checkout the acer 1810t thread for cpu comparison. Very little performance differences, only feature you pay for is VT.
-
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Processors-Benchmarklist.2436.0.html
Not worth $100 even remotely. Spend the money towards the SSD or more RAM folks. -
I expect to see the M11x up on EPP once it shows up on the main dell site. The only way I see to configure this thing is through that special link.. So not worried about a delay on the EPP site just yet. -
